“If you’re looking for a hidden gem - no frills, I repeat, no frills type of place - Woods is your spot.Full disclosure: Nivea (the bartender) is my mom and has bartended alongside Tony and his wife (the owners) for more than 20 years. My mom loves the place so much, you can find her there on her off days. Tony is the man! One of a kind.The place is special - a perfect, dive bar with Portuguêse flair. Make sure you bring cash for the jukebox and pool table, and order an espresso with Sambuca.“

“Great little bar near the PATH Station in Harrison. Located in the rear side of the Element Hotel on Somerset Street. Very nice atmosphere, friendly crowd and very friendly service. Reasonably priced drinks and if you like there is some seating outside the bar when the weather cooperates. I found it a nice place to stop and have a drink or two. I’d recommend stopping in when you’re in the area. A nice addition to the newly renovated, and ongoing, Harrison Station area.“

“I went to this place in a clutch. Wanted some food and a drink after a late show at NJPAC in Newark after midnight. It is bar food; jalapeño poppers, wings, burger, etc but very good. The bartender was courteous and despite it appeared most patrons were usuals, we were treated well being it was a first time for us there.“
