“I live nearby and regularly visit Dames Coffee, so wanted to take a minute to recommend them online. The team here is so lovely and the coffee is delicious. They specialize in the more standard items -- coffee, espresso, lattes etc. If looking for a seasonal drink, not the best spot (try The Hive two blocks away), but if looking for a standard and well-made espresso, this is the place to do it. There is always a dog or two sitting outside (yay), and they have a backyard with wifi for warm work-from-home days. Their banana bread is also a local staple if you want a snack to go with it!“

I've been to this place several times during my short stay in the neighborhood. The only constructive feedback I have would be to pay more attention to how takeouts are packed, especially if there's sauce involved because the sauce in my bao leaked through the cracks of the container and got all over my paper bag. This wouldn't have happened if the container was packed vertically instead of horizontally in the bag. Overall the food and service are great and I'd visit again when I'm in the neighborhood.

“Got to know this small corner spot because of my teens, very nice place the owner and the Ecuadorean girl that handles the food are great very attentive and hospitable they make you feel right at home. The food if you like halal the breakfast and pastries ? are soft and delicious the seating is alittle tight but if you don’t mind it then you’ll enjoy the atmosphere I recommend for anyone in jersey city near Hudson community college and Saint Peter’s university. “Always saw this coffee shop while commuting to work. So decided to try it out. Only wish I tried it much sooner! Their coffee and matcha are the best! I tried their sober matcha with “white top” man that tasted so good. I also tried their sober shot. It’s like a sparkling water fusion with espresso shots and white top as well. Sounds different but it’s worth trying! I’ve tried different coffee shops in the neighborhood and this is by far the best! Look forward to trying their other drinks!“

“This place is such a hidden gem!! I came by here to work with a laptop. I love the atmosphere and healthy options to choose from. The wifi was fast so I felt productive working here. I got Clarity juice, which contains lime, celery, cucumber and spinich. It tasted really fresh and refreshing! I can tell they use fresh ingredients for sure. The barista lady in the morning was very kind and courteous as well. I highly recommend this place! :)“

“I LOVE this neighborhood coffee shop! The staff is always so friendly no matter how busy they are. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The food they serve is always so fresh and delicious. One of my favorite items on the menu is their breakfast sandwich (they serve it with cheese perfectly melted). And don’t get me started on their blueberry muffins. They make them fresh in the house. It is moist with a crusty top, but I also have never seen so many fresh blueberries embedded in a muffin before. All of their coffee drinks are great, too. I find myself trying to come here every weekend whenever I can!“

“This literal "corner coffee shop" is a gem in Jersey City. We found it around the corner from our Air BnB on our second day in the city...and wish we would have found it on day one! The employees were extremely kind and accommodating of our request for plant-based options. They have four or five options for non-dairy bases to coffee drinks and smoothies. We both got the avocado toast (one of us on bread and the other on a bagel) and the food was amazing.

“I live in the area and attend college out of town so getting to the library on my off days is tough. I've been looking for a place with a chill ambiance, wifi, good tea, and coffee. Well, look no more for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Great rustic look, comfy seating with back support, loads of outlets for laptops, and the second-floor space are super cute and cozy too. Oh and there's a small little outside area that's pretty cool as well. Shaquille (hope I spelled it right) was AMAZING! So down-to-earth, friendly, polite, and easy to talk to. She made me the Tumeric latte for me and I all but licked the cup clean. I had the hummus & cucumber on sourdough toast and it was divine. Also, a great option for vegans. I totally recommend this place if you have similar needs or just want to hang out with some friends. I will surely be going back.“

Also, using plastic cutlery made it difficult to cut through the crust on the avocado toast; offering a stainless steel option would be better. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dining experience.“

I visited late afternoon on a weekend and it was packed with people on their laptops working. They have a variety of food options, including breakfast and lunch specials, as well as typical cafe pastries and cakes. Tried the pumpkin chai latte and ham and cheese crepe. Was disappointed by the chai, which was watery and overly sweet. The crepe was not bad. I’ll keep this spot in mind as a nice place to do some work and have a bite.“

The portions are decent. You get a lot of food and vegetables. I guarantee you get full after finishing your meal.

My wrap was perfectly put together, not overflowing, not dry, not dripping with sauce or oils. I wish more vegan places were like Subia's - not afraid to season the food!!“
