“TV time! There was once a time when one visited a bar to mingle with and talk to other people. At this bar, however, those days appear to have retreated faster than you can say ‘hopscotch’.Walking in, I was immediately greeted by four giant TV screens.Spinning around, I saw no less than three others - all treating us to a different show, be it Baywatch, the Power Puff Girls, something to do with sport, etc.Needless to say, making conversation at this bar proved challenging because either your own or your wisdom recipient’s eyes would be continually drawn to the iridescent multi-colored flashing boxes lining the walls like soldiers at the late Queen’s Coronation.Everything else was lovely and the ‘stand’ or ‘sit’ toilet signs - for the latter, maybe read s*** - were hilarious, a photo of which I attach.“
“Walked in thinking it's an Irish bar, walked out having one of the best times ever at any bar. This is a gay bar on steroids but that's what makes it oh so better. I know what you straights are thinking, but this place is Uber welcoming of people from all walks of the road. Probably one of my most favorite random bars of all time. The food was great and priced even better. The staff was Uber friendly and the drinks were top notch. The crowd was the happiest and sweetest crowd of all time. Tbh not a single sour puss! Highly recommend this place for everyone and anyone! The music, the food, the drinks, the staff, the atmosphere... all so fun that honestly I kinda wish I was gay now lol. Give this place a shot, you won't regret it!“
“Here is what I posted to my own page earlier today… “The Spot” is a nicely appointed newish Gay bar at 44th and 10th. Their is a long bar with a big wide counter…and they serve surprisingly well-prepared bar food items…and they have 2 for 1 happy hour prices on most well drinks. The reason I’m noting this…is that wether you are Gay or Straight…”The Spot” offers a nice new alternative as a place to meet your party prior to a Broadway show. Get there just before 6 to secure a patch of bar for your theater party. A general note to NYC tourists… concentrate your pre and post show dining and drinking options to 9tb and 10th Avenues…and “Restaurant Row” (on 46th Street tween 8 and 9.) Once you get west of 8th Avenue, you’ll escape the tourist traps, find every kind of food in the world…and somewhat lower prices than nearer Times Square. Leave time for a slightly longer walk to your Broadway show…the few extra steps will make a positive world of difference.“
“Love to come here with friends! The service is ….. interesting? But I’m sure it’s because the staff probably puts up with a lot. Don’t let that get in the way of having a good time though! I still give it 5 stars because it’s a place we always have a nice time at, I like that they have a pool table and outdoor seating. The people working door are always sweet and most of the bartenders are decent. I would recommend coming with friends to hang out after work.“
“Was visiting and this bar had a great atmosphere. Also, one of the few gay bars that actually had a menu to look at. Might seem small but my partner and I love to try new drinks and not just name a random drink from the top of our head we already had before.Bartenders were attentive and friendly. Highly recommend and will visit again next time around.“
“Such a fun gay Irish pub!!! This is the first time I’ve been to one, to watch a World Cup game, but the staff is friendly and the outdoor space is nice. They don’t serve food but you are allowed to bring outside food in and there’s a good taco and pizza place near the bar. Good on tap selection. Decent crowd but I’m sure that changes based on the night. Would go back!“
“Love Ty’s for it’s lowkey vibe. The crowd here is a mix of old dudes having a nightcap, bears pregaming, and downtown cool kids relaxing somewhere they won’t be seen. Bartenders are all very sweet. Music is generally good, ranges from rock, 90s radio classics, 100% Madonna, Courtney Love and friends.“
“We’ve been here twice and both times were great experiences. Staff is friendly, the entertainment is fun. Just found out about the patio with a view of the Chrysler building on our last visit this past Saturday. Will definitely return next time in NYC.“
“Our favorite piano bar ever. The best nights are where they play old classics, such a billy Joel, Elton John etc. Not a huge fan of the pop song nights. The service is incredible, every person who works here is a character of the best kind.Absolutely everyone needs to go at least once!!“
“One of the best bars you’ll ever go to. If you want a bar with a diverse crowd that gives little to no judgement about your aesthetic, then this is the place to be. If you’ve got a kink, there’s probably someone else here that has it too. If you have a hobby, you’ll most likely find a friend. Great drag shows, trivia contests, and “other” contests. I will always come to this bar. They also have some of the cheapest drink prices in NYC and they don’t skimp!!“
“Came here on Sunday for the drag show brunch! The food was phenomenal- my favorite was the French dip and fries! All the portions were large and very filling. The drag show brunch is every other Sunday & is such a fun time. Definitely recommend checking out, the music is fun & the performance was great!!“
“I love this place!!! There's always something new - piano + singing or drag happening upstairs, dance floor in the back, bar in front, clean bathrooms... what more could you want? Oh, and a patio to smoke. I would live here if I could lol.“
“Best bar in the neighborhood. The security made me feel safe and secured. James (the security) is very kind and friendly. Drinks are well made. Music is amazing. I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and it’s one of the best bar in town to have a drink! I would def recommend penicillin & leche de lobo!“
“I love it here am the Security here and everyone from the owners to the bartender's and manager Ricardo and the amazing customers everyone is welcoming a great place for actually everybody no matter who you are. I love working here God bless you guys for accepting me ?.“
“I LOVE Kelvin, the bartender- he has excellent customer service. Love the vibe and the energy here. My one only concern is the cold in the space, it makes it difficult to fully enjoy. Most of the women here tonight agreed with me that the cold is a lot. Please provide more heat for us sensitive femmes. We love you!“
“Space is small, so a reservation is definitely needed. All run by chef and owner, Artist. That day we had the place almost all to ourselves and he made our experience one of a kind with his hospitality and attention. Eating delicious food while the guest musician played made for good vibes. We made quick friends with our dining neighbor and the whole restaurant just talked about life. Would definitely return again!“
“This place is an excellent homage to the old new york bars: great variety shows, from live piano to burlesque, and reasonably priced drinks. My only reason not to give it five stars is that Club Cummins features the slowest bartender I have ever experienced; this kid can only make and charge one drink at a time, making the experience of buying a simple beer a test of patience.“
“Apparently, this is a relatively new gay bar in New York City’s Hells kitchen. We were visiting from Minnesota and happened to see the pride flags out front as we were walking by on 9th Avenue so we decided to swing in. It’s not a huge bar but the staff was so nice and it was really well done. Bar has a great atmosphere. We spoke with bartenders, Daniel and Gio, and they took the time to come over and chat with us and make us feel welcome even though I’m sure they had plenty of other things to do. Such a wonderful bar that we will definitely be back.“
“My favorite bar! The bartenders are fantastic and friendly, the patrons are fun and nice, the space is cool and eclectic I'm a very cozy way, it's a great spot to meet somebody new or hang out with somebody old, can't go wrong with “
“First time at Stonewall was this last December 2023, and it was a blast! The legendary bar was hosting their weekly drag show with Hibiscus, and we arrived just in time to see her.The drinks were great, and she was on fire as she charmed the crowd and ate it up on the dance floor! I got to ask her what her favoriteplant was (snakeplant). The atmosphere was 10/10, the music was 10/10, and Hibiscus a 10/10- 10’s across the board.I highly suggest visiting at least once to see Hibiscus, or any of the other performers and bartenders, DJ’s, regular patrons there. It’s an epicenter of queer culture, and continues to stand to be.I will definitely be back!Parking: Parking is already an olympic task for NYC.There is street parking, but most of the time is it cordoned off for construction, or taken.Paid lots nearby are your best bet, aside using apps like Spothero to locate cheap parking in the city.“
“Cute bar with small, raw dance space in the back and seated tables in the side room next to the bar. If you’re looking for top notch AV to dance to this is not your spot. If you’re looking for a great local LGBTQIA++ watering hole; or a nostalgic, hole in the wall, raw space like when you first starting partying and needed an after hours or pregame spot to just relax with friends - which is more about the vibe of the clientele and music than fancy lights and sound anyway - than this is your spot!Saw Lady Bunny DJ for a friend’s bday (not the best mixer by any means but music/vibe was fun and crowd was SUPER diverse)! If you’re throwing a private party I’d say you can fit 75-100 if spaced throughout the venue. Service from the bar could be better (our half-finished drinks kept disappearing from the bar for no reason all night while chatting with friends when not paying attention, so we had to keep ordering more - and getting new ones was not as easy for a smaller bar as you’d think); however, the small bar staff of 3 did their best slinging to a full bar that just kept getting busier through the night, so give them props for staying nice through then night.Wheelchair accessibility: Small but steep ramp at the entrance way, which is a plus to have at all as a disabled patron!“
“My favorite bar when going out with my friends. Usually the music is not very loud which allows you to chat. Larger drinks than in other bars, at a lower price and with more alcohol. I definitely don't change itMy favorite bar when going out with my friends. Usually the music is not very loud which allows you to chat. “This place rules. We went because I’m queer and we stumbled upon it (out of towners). My best friend and I (2 cis women) were completely taken care of. It was wonderful. One of my best experiences in NYC. All lovely, not expensive, lots of sweet young men having fun.“
“The Drag Brunch was EVERYTHING! We celebrated my wife's birthday here. We had a group of 15. Great food, great music. JP, Milly & Wilkina provide AMAZING service! I highly recommend patronizing this establishment. We had an awesome time.Parking: There is a paid parking lot nearby on Grove Street.“
