“I had the honor privilege and luck of being the very first customer to be served at Kanpachi Sushi during their grand opening on 4/29/2022. The very first think I noticed was how friendly and inviting the staff is, they make you feel welcome the second that you step into their establishment. The second thing I noticed was the how the new renovation which makes you want to come in and have a seat at a table or sit at the sushi bar to watch the sushi master construct your order before your eyes. I am impressed with the addition of this new business to Amboy Ave. The food is fresh, top-quality ingredients prepared by a world class chief and sushi master. I had lunch there yesterday and today. Oh, and did I mention that Kanpachi is a BYOB establishment? Sushi steak and Hibachi lovers, do yourself a favor and get over there. I am making this my go to spot for lunch or dinner, I give Kanpachi 5 stars. Thank you for picking Amboy Ave to open your sushi house.“

“Had a great time celebrating my daughter’s birthday tonight with a party of 10! It was nice to have our own hibachi table! Easy to make reservations, was seated quickly, food was excellent and our servers were attentive and great! Luigi was very friendly and did a great job!“

“Came here with my family after watching a movie, and we were very pleased with the experience. The miso soup was honestly some of the best I’ve had. It wasn’t overly salty like at many other sushi places, where the saltiness can drown out the other flavors.

Everything tasted fresh, and the rolls were especially good. They weren’t overloaded with rice and were packed with plenty of filling. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and left very satisfied.“

“First time here and I got the chicken and beef teriyaki with the noodles and veggies. It was delicious. In general I don't care for sushi, but the teriyaki was great and I would definitely get that again. Even though I liked it that much I'll need to try some of the other dishes on the menu first to know if it deserves a higher rating. Other than that it's a clean place with a friendly staff, not too loud and plenty of seating space and parking.“

“The mango special roll with shrimp tempura was a little slimy because mango was very ripe and cut into small slices which were falling off the roll. It was ok not great. I did not care at all for the consistency of the chicken in the noodles dish. I ate around the meat and just ate the noodles.“

The service was great, everything was brought out so quickly and all at once (did not love that part, though). The restaurant is a small place. Atmosphere was good/okay. “One of the best sushi places on the island. Consistently fresh and delicious with reasonable prices, especially for the lunch special. The passage to India roll is unique with an awesome curry sauce drizzle that I would put on everything if I knew the recipe. The staff and service are solid and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and always clean.“

“Came for dinner on Friday around 6:30pm. Recommend making reservation on Friday Evening otherwise take a seat at the bar or will need to wait. The fish was fresh and presentation done well. Seeing the chefs put the dishes together was a nice experience as well. A bit slow with the order but most likely its because the place was full. Would recommend 18 pieces sashimi, salmon tartar and tako su. Over all a great place to stop by if you want fresh sushi and want to bring in your liquor.“

Emily, the owner, and her husband are absolutely lovely and always goes above and beyond to accommodate our preferences. We always get the sashimi double cut thin, and they make it exactly how we like it! The quality and consistency are amazing, and the customer service makes us keep coming back. “I had heard so many good things about Nikko's so I stopped by for a take out meal the other day. From the time I walked through the door, I had a great experience. “This is the only place I feel safe ordering in from as someone with food allergies. I have a dairy and gluten allergy and they are so accommodating with the dishes. You get big portions for a good price and the food is always so fresh. I also have a super stomach with some problems so I always feel icky eating out and since the food is cooked in high quality oil I never feel icky after eating here which is SO rare for me. The owner is incredibly kind and told me how she also has food allergies and is happy to make modifications and help. It’s so rare that restaurants welcome modifications and she always does so for me. “This place has been my go-to Chinese spot to get food from the foods pretty good the service there is great the ladies that take your order are very sweet very genuine and they always make you laugh. Me and my family have been ordering here for I don't know how long but it's our go-to spot, the food portions are good and the prices for most things are fair.“

“I got a really good chicken chow mein lunch special, fried wontons, and bean curd skin. The chow mein and rice were amazing and the fried wontons were very good. The wontons were a bit sweet and doughy for my taste, but still enjoyable. The bean curd skin was great. It came with seaweed salad which I wasn't expecting. Everyone I was with also enjoyed their dishes. The only complaint was $2.00 for rice on the hibachi dish was too much for what you actually got.
I will be getting food from here again and would be interested in dining in.“
