“Love the Mei Fun - must try if you haven't! I always add some soy sauce and some it up, but that's a personal preference. Reheats well the next day.Vegetarian options: AvailableKid-friendliness: Daughter loves the lo meinParking: Front“
“Sometimes you have to abandon what you know (burrito, hamburger, lamb kabob) and try something new like bibimbap (pictured) which means mixing of cooked rice with cool stuff mixed in. Seriously though, a few new places have opened up on the block: no knock on Rosy's Taco Bar, but you just might feel more satisfied at Nam Chon (Korean). The hot bowl/pot cooking technique puts their bibimbap dishes over the top. Come down towards the east end of South St. and check it out. The chef/waiter will give you a free appetizer assortment sampler for your enthusiasm.“
“This place is SO good, a new neighborhood favorite. The sushi, robatayaki, and entrees we tried were all incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and well seasoned (especially the hangar steak robatayaki!!). Love that it's a BYO, too. The desserts were also a highlight - I would come back just for the cheesecake and the black sesame ice cream! Service was knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. We will be back!“
“Totally enjoyed every aspect of my experience. Last night on a work trip and heard the name of this restaurant 2x today and ended up having a hair appointment near by and was able to walk! I sat at the bar downstairs and had amazing service. Had the enlightenment martini and the cashew chicken with jasmine rice. Hands down some of the best food I’ve eaten!“
“Bao Nine is such a cute place to eat at. Thankfully, the food matches the atmosphere! The food is fresh, light, and delicious. The prices are great and the combo options make it easy to try a little of everything. I enjoyed my first time at Bao Nine and will surely be going back whenever I'm in the neighborhood.“
“Delicious, fantastic vegan options, had a matcha bun and the grandma tofu which was great! I'm looking forward to being in suburban station again so I can try more menu items.Vegetarian options: Bao and other options for vegetarians and vegans are great and definitely not boring!Dietary restrictions: Nice vegan and vegetarian options!“
“Dining in for a birthday party of 10 we ate half of everything on the menu. Spoiler alert: delicious. We had an assortment of bibimbap, each a generous serving of meat and veggies sizzling in the bowl, the Galbi skillet (slow braised short rib) and the veggie Japchae. Let’s not forget pork buns, which got us started. All together the meal was less than $30 per person and absolutely worth it.“
“Love love love Ozaki! It’s my favorite Asian restaurant. Their sushi is so good. I recently had the all you can eat sushi for a reasonable price and you can choose appetizers/drink/entree/however much sushi you want/dessert. I tried like 5 different sushi rolls and they were all so good. The service is always good and the restaurant is always clean. I always recommend ppl to go there & have taken my friends, boyfriend, and parents there (on separate occasions, that’s how much I love the food!)“
“Came here for dinner during Wrestlemania 40 weekend. Excellent service and the sushi was amazing! Especially the fried sushi with smoked salmon. Also got the shrimp tempura and sweet potato rolls. Wish had more room to finish it all. Pretty small place, so was lucky enough that it wasn't so busy. Highly recommend!“
“Love this place and go in/order here often since its local. I really like the birra dumplings and seafood eggroll. However, I recently tried their wings ordering out and was HIGHLY disappointed?. I paid $12 for soggy old meat with no flavor, yet I ordered the chipotle wings . I made my two friends try the wings bc i refused to even eat them. She said it burnt her lip and the smell made her nauseous. They were literally FUNKY. Will still continue to eat here because for the most part their food is good. However after this experience I won’t risk ordering their wings??!!!“
“Good vibe and good food! I was a bit surprised by the portion sizes and how small they were, considering that I would say this spot is pricey. The menu is also small, most dim sum restaurants I go to have a vast menu and are relatively inexpensive. With that being said, the chicken wontons were the star of the show for me! Along with the green fire cocktail… MUST TRY. The shrimp dumplings were also delicious, and the korean fried chicken wings were just OK.If I go back, I plan on trying to the cheesesteak bao as I heard they’re incredible.“
“They are a take out spot with a few tables for a group of 3 or smallerQuality and variety of food is incredible and authentic! Will come back to try their soups, I only got banh mi this time around and they were so fresh and savory. Was so good I almost forgot to take a photo hahaTheir fruit smoothies taste like they put ice cream in there which makes them really sweet, a plus for some. It was tasty but bit sweet for me, next time I'll try the durian ?“
“Master Authentic Culinary Eastern and Western Cuisine Fused . Start to finish, absolutely a treat and adventure of tastes. Let the owner take you thru each detail..Tea, sweet corn soup, 4 star including giant scallops, giant prawns, chicken and beef. Complimentary appetizer. Sticky rice desert with sorbet and chocolate for finish.“
“I wish every restaurant would run as efficiently as Cheu. They set the bar high! The food always comes out so quickly, and somehow the timing is always perfect. I think the most impressive thing about them is the attention to detail. Every time I order the wings, there are always equal numbers of drums and flats. Literally *every* time. There are so many restaurants nearby that can be pretty hit or miss, but Cheu is one that I can always count on because the quality always remains the same, no matter who is cooking/ serving/ bartending that night. With so many other things to worry about during the day, it’s nice to be able to breathe a sigh of relief and know that Cheu will never disappoint.I love Cheu!“
“Great Pan-Asian restaurant! Came here on a Monday evening with friends to celebrate a birthday! Definitely make reservations if you have a large party. Nice bar area to wait in or even grab a before dinner cocktail!Menu is amazing, so many great options!Definitely a must see if you’re in the city!“
“An unassuming thai restoraunt in the middle of nowhere (at least to me as a visitor of the city). It was a small cozy resto with decent service and some lowkey décor. Gold coloured cups was a plus. Chicken skewers - White meat was dry, but the peanut sauce was really good. Pad see ew - pad see ew was tasty. The stirfried dish was seasoned well with lots of different flavour. It was only missing a bit of char, otherwise really good. Would recommend. Some decent food, but as a tourist to the city, I would not be coming back. There are other restos for me to try. But as a local, I can see myself coming back to grab casual meals.“
“Love their sushi burrito. Wish the size was a bit larger for the price (I can be greedy with anything sushi) but either way they're always delicious and fresh. I love that you can add multiple mix ins and sauces as well. I always visit when I take a trip down town.“
“My time at this restaurant was excellent. I enjoyed the well-made food and the ambiance of the place. This was my first time coming to a restaurant that allowed you to bring your alcohol to the place, and I loved it.Additional Note:For spice enthusiasts, this restaurant offers unique flexibility. You can adjust the spice level of your dish on a scale of 1 to 5, allowing you to truly customize your dining experience.I recommend getting it at levels 4 or 5 for those who like spicy food. I asked for a level of 3 for spice, and the food tasted mild.“
“Delicious as always. My baby’s favorite spot our favorites are the kalbi, skirt, and hangar steaks ? the drinks are pretty good too! Staff is very professional, polite, hospitable, and friendly as well. 10/10Kid-friendliness: This is my seven year olds favorite restaurant“
“One of my favorite spots in the city! Great food and the service team feels like family. They’ll never steer you wrong if you want to try something new, and always deliver your favorites at a high and consistent quality! Maybe I’ll go this weekend - getting hungry while writing this review.“
“This was a surprise on our 5th night in Philly. We had a group of small plates. Pork dumpling in chili oil, glazed sting beans, Indian pancakes with curry, peking duck buns, and Singapore noodles. If the food is this quality all the time, they have hit a home run. Add in the excellent drinks menu with well crafted alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and there is nothing to fault here. Would definitely come back.“
“Diving into Golden Triangle unveils not just a meal, but a passport to a culinary expedition specializing in the Southeast Asian flavors of Thailand, Malaysia, and Myanmar. Tucked away in the heart of Philly, this humble gem offers an intimate escape to distant lands with its quiet, casual ambiance and a cozy dining room that boasts no more than eight tables. Our adventure began with the Malaysian classic, Roti Canai -- a delightfuly crispy, flaky, chewy marvel that serves as a prelude to the symphony of flavors awaiting us. Paired with a rich curry chicken potato dip, this dish was a standing ovation in the making. Then came the Sambal Shrimp, a bold ensemble of shrimp reveling in a spicy brown sauce, creating a festival of taste that had every fork in the room longing for an encore. The Beef Rendang, while a masterpiece of flavor and tenderness with its slow-cooked, aromatic curry, left us longing for a second act, as the disappointing portion size was more of a soliloquy than a full-fledged aria.Despite the small dining room, Golden Triangle played the perfect host to our group of six (including a baby car seat), accommodating us at their sole large table--a testament to their ability to harmonize space and service. While the Mee Goreng and Penang Char Kway Teow flavors were well balance and added depth to our culinary journey, both dishes lacked a bit of the smoky "wok hay" that I was yearning for. The Burmese Kimchi introduced a zestful twist to the meal as it was our first time trying any Burmese food, but it wasn't particularly memorable. In the end, the Roti Canai and Sambal Shrimp emerged as our favorites of the night.Overall, Golden Triangle is more than a dining destination; it's a quiet nook where flavors dance and diners are invited to a show that tantalizes the taste buds and warms the heart. With its intimate atmosphere and welcoming vibe, it stands out as a beacon for those seeking an immersive culinary experience in Center City. Here's to more explorations at this quaint culinary corner, where the world feels both vast and intimately close, all within the confines of its quiet, casual dining room.“
“Have been coming here for like a decade and always have a good experience. The portions are huge, and everything I've tried has been consistently good. If you like spicy food, tell them that you promise not to complain about it being too hot, and they'll make it spicy enough to make you sweat but still be good/flavorful.“
“Their lunch special is a great value and the rolls were good without the deal too. the tuna in the tuna roll was fresh, flavorful, and plentiful.the atmosphere felt really casual so it might not be great for a nice date, but any other sushi need would be well met “
“Overall the food was pretty good! The price-to-quantity ratio was a bit high though (although there may not be as much competition here in Philly). The savory crepes were really satisfying and the crepe is crunchy in a good way. Water fern dumplings are typically hard to find in the US, and it did not disappoint. The flounder was also cooked well and seasoned. The fried rice was alright, but not the best. The soft shell crab was definitely one of the best dishes here. The #1 dish in my opinion is the shaken beef. The meat is cooked to absolute perfection; it is truly tender and juicy while packed with flavor. I would definitely recommend and come back to this place for authentic Vietnamese food.“
“Nice, attentive staff. Quick service and delicious food. Recommend the Sushi/Sashimi Bleu Plate and any of the ice cream cones they have available.Bring your own alcohol, if that’s what you are into. Definitely would come back again. Thanks!“
“Bhan Thai continues to impress with its cozy and comfortable atmosphere, although the recent relocation within the same mall area has led to a larger space that feels somewhat less intimate, but still pleasant. As a frequent visitor, albeit not an expert in Thai cuisine, I remain a big fan of their duck dishes, especially the crispy yet succulent duck, which is consistently well-prepared and never dry.During my latest visit, I ventured to try the Pad Thai with imitation duck. The dish struck a perfect balance in its spice levels, satisfying my palate without being overwhelming. The quality and taste of the food have commendably remained consistent over my visits.A notable highlight was the butternut squash soup. Served piping hot, its creamy texture and the harmonious blend of carrots, butternut squash, celery, and black pepper created a delightful culinary experience. However, it's worth noting for vegans that this soup does contain cream. The restaurant's take-out service also seems to be popular among customers, adding to its appeal. Whether you're dining alone or with a group of six, the accommodating and friendly service enhances the overall experience.Bhan Thai remains a solid choice for Thai cuisine enthusiasts, maintaining a strong 4-star rating out of 5 in my book. It's definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the area.“
“We were driving by and found this great Thai place. They have a good vegetarian options and each item that we ordered was very well prepared. It’s definitely budget friendly for Thai cuisine. I would rate this place very high on customer service.“
“To start off, there was no wait!! Already off on a good note. When we arrived, we were directed upstairs where there were bigger tables and a great atmosphere. We were seated by to coolest server who went on to explain how their hotpot works. She really took her time and answered our questions. I was treating son and granddaughter to dinner. It was my granddaughter’s first hotpot experience and she was excited. They had a tablet at every table so you can pick out what you want a send it straight to the kitchen, which I thought was a great touch. When the food arrived to our table, the cook time was explained to us about every item. Everything was really good. We had both the waygu brisket and the waygu ribeye. We also had the seafood combo which came with abalone. I had never had it before but always wanted to try it. It was pretty good. Both broths were really delicious. My granddaughter and I choose the mushrooms broth and my son choose the original bone broth. The only thing I didn’t like was that you had to share the sauces with the other tables. You also had to pay for all of your drinks (soda, juice, milk tea). Other than that everything else was all you can eat. We had a great time a would definitely be back. I highly recommend this place.“
“I am not exaggerating when I say the Fried Avocado Bao Buns are one of the best meals I've ever had! The other vegan options are good, especially the Tofu Banh Mi, but the Fried Avocado Bao Buns are legit life-changing. I could eat them every day. You definitely need to try them!“
“I want to start off by saying I go almost everyday! I am the biggest fitness freak and the shakes and juices help me while on my diet to the fullest. I actually went twice in one day and Mohammed was kind enough to give me a sample of their nee Nutella bowls that they have. I recommend this place to everyone I know. It is truly an amazing environment and it honestly has amazing food and drinks! You must go here, if i could give them 10 stars I would !!Wheelchair accessibility: No steps“
“This place was new to me… I was greeted with smiling faces and didn’t have to wait long for my food. Such a wide vegetarian and vegan menu! The food was so hot and TASTY! Amazing flavors! Sometimes I go overboard when describing my food experiences, but when I try something new that makes me feel good afterwards, I feel like I need to share!“
“This review is actually for the Wok Works location on Frankford -- which is brand new and therefore doesn't have a Yelp page yet!My partner and I DEVOURED the pad se ew bowl and the honey garlic shrimp rice bowl. The flavors were spot-on, the ingredients were cooked perfectly, it wasn't greasy or over-salted, and it was hot and ready in less than 15 minutes. SO happy this spot came to the Fishtown neighborhood. A quick, versatile noodle spot is exactly what we needed. It may not be THE most authentic option, but this hits the spot, is still really nuanced with the flavor profiles, and is super convenient.“
“Checking out my new neighborhood and came across this Thai restaurant when I was getting my hair done next door. The restaurant is super cute with cute bamboo lamps. The server came out quickly to order my food and food came out very fast. I ordered the shrimp satay and the Thai Basil Chicken. Disclaimer, the shrimp satay was delicious but came out with the shell and tail on and the shell was hard to take off but the sauce on the shell was delicious. It came with a mint sauce that was tasty too. The Thai Basil chicken was also delicious - there was some part of my dish that was cold while the other parts were hot - not sure why. But the food was tasty. I wish I got to try other things like the pad Thai, but I will be back!“
“This phenomenal chef was a guest chef at the Philadelphia museum over the past weekend. The food was so good that he was selling out of a lot of stuff quickly !! I was amazed at how many people were rushing to try the food!! So I had to wait in a bit of a line to get mines but it was well worth it. Also, he was quick and efficient and even with the way he had to rush the food was still put together beautifully. I ordered 3 Magnolia bao buns which came out to approximately $16 . It had an amazing soy honey glaze, spicy shallot and cilantro. The spice was just enough to give it an edge without being overpowering. The meat was perfectly juicy and tender and he was very generous with the amount of meat he placed inside!! From other people who ordered I was told the wings and the sweet cinnamon buns were a bit. I'll definitely be finding my way to the restaurant in the future. So happy with this experience!! Bao buns with Magnolia beef : 10/10!!!!!!“
“The place was ok on what this area has to offer coming from Philly where the Chinese food is night and day. A little on the expensive side but not bad at all. Most definitely not amazing. I will eat here again in the future.Parking: Big parking lot in shopping center where it is located“
“Mandarin Palace may seem like a seedy hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant, but that exterior masks what is likely the best American Chinese food in Philadelphia. I have tried many Chinese takeout places before realizing Mandarin Palace exists and was continually disappointed by each of them.Everything here is flavorful, well put together, and most importantly for any take out place, consistent, regardless of the day of the week. Every time we have ordered from here, the order was put together promptly, accurately, and with the same high quality every time. The only real con is that it's expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The food here is second to none.Stay away from the non-American Chinese dishes though. This is NOT a sushi/Thai/Vietnamese place or anything besides American Chinese. Those dishes are mediocre at best and to be avoided.“
“Got Szechuan peppercorn beef noodle soup and fish maw chicken noodle soup. So good. And the price is pretty decent for such a big portion & variety of toppings. Service is basic level. They do have a surcharge for credit card but I’m not super surprised.“
“Canting Wok Noodle Bar is our new go-to spot for Asian food. We had the pork belly and crispy chicken bao buns, and cheesesteak and chicken egg rolls (better than any egg rolls we've ever had!) to start, followed by the pad tai (very generous portion and delicious) and beef bulgogi (so tender) rice bowl. Washing it down with the Mexican coke for some reason hit the spot, too!“
“The food here is really delicious. Solid classic egg rolls and dumplings. I just had chicken and Chinese vegetables and the veggies were crisp and the fried rice was fluffy. The people are always very nice when I pick up. I just moved here and I’m not crazy about it but this place is comforting.“
“Wonderful family run establishment with delicious boat noodles, pho ga and much more. I also think their Chinese donut is the best in town when fresh. I prefer the pho ga here over the one on Washington which is now over hyped and over run. Tender, juicy and moist every single time. Their boat noodles are also a must try.....best I've had in long long time. Also don't sleep on the hoagies.... Everything is just so good! The owner is very sweet and nice too.“
“Perfect for a quick and reasonably priced meal whether for lunch or dinner. The food always tastes super fresh, the restaurant is tidy, and their shrimp is always thoroughly cleaned. Great value for what you get, my only downside is that they’re closed on Tuesday’s :(.“
“Agreed! It's the only place to go when you want great Chinese! Everywhere around me (Washington Twp) is just different grades of "bad." Ingredients are high quality -- no gristle chicken/ or slimy chicken. Great sauces -- no generic brown sauce that they throw on every dish. Recommend Beef Chow fun, Shrimp lo mein, chicken and broccoli, pot stickers, any soup, etc. Fabulous. I wish they were closer!“
“This place is a hidden gem for sushi, Japanese, Chinese, and Asian cuisine just blocks from Snyder Plaza. Their food has been consistent in quality, freshness, and presentation since I first found them in 2006, and rediscovered them in 2020. They have an interesting variety of specialty sushi rolls, and the standard rolls, and all are beautifully crafted, fresh and delicious. My most recent sushi order was the Snow White, Kiss of Fire and Philly rolls, and a complimentary salmon avocado roll! My bf enjoyed the beef with garlic sauce. I highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't already! I sound like an infomercial, but I swear, I'm just a customer who appreciates integrity lol. I rarely take food pics, but this just looked so gorgeous, I had to share!“
“Server had a bit of an attitude, which is my sign that the food will be good. ? (And the food was good! I actually just think the server was hangry lol.) Anyway, drunken noodle was official although if you want it extra spicy, I think you'd have to really emphasize since they are catering to a particular crowd/more sensitive palettes. We were able to do the lunch special so the prices were very good and the ingredients definitely fresh. The restaurant was pretty roomy, very clean, and the decor was nice. I'll be a regular.Kid-friendliness: Casual with a number of tables and booths“
“We called before we came because it was Friday night and we were afraid that there might be a long wait time, they told us to come on over. We were sat immediately. Our orders were taken quickly and the appetizer came quick. We ordered the crispy vegetable spring rolls, honey wings and steamed chicken dumplings. They were all delicious. We also had the general tso which was spicy but not too spicy and yummy. We also had the chicken fried rice, shrimp and broccoli and the chicken and broccoli. They were all seasoned well and very tasty.Kid-friendliness: My daughter ordered the California roll without the crab stick and avocado, so she had a cucumber roll which wasn’t on the menu but the very kind lady waiter said no problem and they brought her out a cucumber roll. I really appreciated that.“
“I'm always excited when brown rice is an option on a rice centered menu, so I ordered the brown rice with my curry and it was beautiful 2 toned rice, perfectly cooked and made the meal extra delicious.Vegetarian options: I had seitan on my massaman curry and it was really delicious. Lots of flavor, really satisfying.“
“I absolutely love the honey garlic wing flavor. The only thing that suprised me was the boneless wings weren't white meat chicken. I think it's thighs? Either way, the chicken is moist and crispy and I'd like to try another flavor. Fries are good too!“
“This restaurant is the real deal...from wonton soup, fried rice, the real steak they served you, omg the chicken wings omg everything ? ? ? we found our favorite oriental restaurant...they really served you food and the flavor don't get me start it ? ? I definitely recommend thus restaurant 5 out of 5“
