“We used this bakery for our wedding. What drew us to this place was the quality and creativity of their cakes. They were very flexible with doing a take-home cake trial, which they don’t offer, and we greatly appreciate it. The reason why they are getting 4 stars is their lack communication and flexibility for delivering our cake. We had to change the filling last minute on our wedding cake due to no proper storage. I wish they told us the lemon curd needed to refrigerated before choosing it. Also the alternatives they told us was unprofessional. The replacement was good but not what we wanted. If it's a option I would to see how our intended cake was suppose to taste like.“

“We had these donuts for a donut tasting contest and only had the glazed and cream filled and the cream won 1st place and the glazed won 2nd up against some big named bakeries and donut shops in the area and around NE Philadelphia. We came on this day to grab some donuts before we headed to Jersey to do something else, and ended up getting some different types of donuts including Boston Cream. The donuts were so fresh and tasty. I love a Boston Cream donut and This one did not disappoint. The custard in the middle of the donut tasted so good and I was surprised as how filled it was which is always a plus. I would've rated it 5 stars but the lady working wasn't very nice and had a bad attitude. Plus they only had a few types of donuts to choose from which was strange.“

“So this is a bit mixed experience for me. We got some pastries from here few weeks back and ate them in the car as we didbt have time for a sit down, and they were good. We went back recently and decided to stay for breakfast. My breakfast burrito came with bacon but it was thick, hard to bite into and the whole thing just lacked taste. My wife had some type of spinach omelette but that was not very tasty either. The young girl working in front while nice behind the desk taking orders, when she brought my food almost threw it at me, just no smile no asking if we needed anything else, fairly rude in my book. My wife still wanted to get pastry to go and that again was good. So will not be coming back for breakfast but you might be able to grab something that's actually good.“

After the first couple months of him not lighting up, I decided to go looking for a good bakery, and stumbled upon this particular one. We went the next morning for breakfast, got excited, and tried too many things.Something I appreciate about this bakery is that you won't find overly decorated pastries, or things made specifically for aesthetics and instagram photos. Instead what you'll find are a variety of beautifully baked croissants when you first walk in, along with a myriad of staples, with some more rare gems mixed in. Everything we have tried there is delicious. We've been back a few times, and my teenager is always asking to go.I've probably tried every croissant at this point, and they're all a hit. They deserve to have a bigger store!! Very cute and small for now. “House of Cupcakes provides for a spectacular journey of the senses - both visually and in taste. It is quite easy to walk past the cupcakery, as it sits discreetly within the row of restaurants and other small shops. However, posters and signage at the windows do a decent job at capturing the attention of the wayfaring netizen to give insight of the delights found within.Inside the House of Cupcakes resembles that of a deli with a dash of boutique vibes. There is an immediate gravitation to the shelves of assorted cupcakes that line the wall behind the counter. There are also prepackaged cupcakes at the counter for available for quick in-and-out purchase if you don't have time to flounder around with making the "perfect" selection(s). If you are able to distract yourself from those mesmerizing goods, there are also racks of what appear to be locally sourced and made treats available if cupcakes are not your jam. But really, the visually appealing cupcakes steal the show. The variety and assortment of fresh cupcakes is truly overwhelming, and you could really sit there for minutes trying to decide on what you want. Definitely suggest that you go in with a plan-of-attack; know what flavors you are craving and build around that premise. However, I don't feel that you can go wrong judging by the flavors, and taste (in hindsight). The cupcakes themselves are incredibly fluffy and soft in texture and consistency. Sure, like other cupcakes they will harden if left expose to the elements, but if consumed properly and efficiently, these probably rates as one of the best cupcakes in the local area (the other best ones we've had are from Blue Sheep Bakery). Depending on the flavor and style, you might have filling within some of the cupcakes, while the majority of them are covered in a rich buttercream. The buttercream has been made to perfection - it is light (almost airy to a degree) and not entirely too sweet. We picked up half-a-dozen assort cupcakes, and surprisingly the Black Forest and Dulce de Leche varietals stood out to me. I was expecting the Dulce de Leche to be overwhelming sweet, but it was not and incredibly enjoyable. The Red Velvet was good and held its own, however, would have been amazing if the buttercream was cream cheese-based.All-in-all, a great spot to visit for some treats/desserts!“

“Nice local bakery that I found while my daughter was in town shopping for a prom dress. Large selection of made on location pastries. I'm a big fan of local bakeries, and I don't live close, so we got some stuff to take home. Crumble Cake. Nice flavor, pleanty amout of crumble, just a bit dry, but not a deal breaker. I would buy it again. 4 stars. Blueberry Breakfast Cake. I liked it but I didn't love it. To me, the blueberries tasted like they came out of a can, and I didn't expect that. The cake was moist, but for me, it was a little too sweet. I wouldn't buy it again but that's my taste. Give it a try and make your own decision. 2.5 stars. Cannoli Cupcake. Not one of those huge cupcakes that you can't fit into your mouth, and you need a fork and knife. Tasty with a little Cannoli on top. 3 stars. Creme Brulee with chocolate mousse topping. He meticulously rotated the breads for even baking/browning and the smell was so tempting. I was introduced to Filipino cuisine by a friend of mine and saw the cashew tarts. Bought 2 packs of that, some coconut muffins and a chicken empanada. Cashew tarts are as delicious and tasty as I remembered. Nice chewy filling, flaky crust and not too sweet. On the right side there is a really cute seating area with huge Adirondack chairs. It was too cold for us to sit outside but next time. The lines moved really fast. I went for a kids size chocolate soft serve in a cone, and my boyfriend went with root beer water ice and vanilla soft serve. My kids size was huge! The soft serve was good and creamy. My cone was a little stale but still edible. My boyfriend is very particular when it comes to water ice. He said it had too many hard ice pieces in it. We did have a sample of the mint chocolate chip water ice, and that one was creamier. So it could have been the particular flavor that was more icy. Would come back and try other flavors.“

“I purchased a birthday cake for my 2 year old grandson’s party. I asked for a Baby Shark theme and was thrilled when I picked up the cake. Not only was it beautifully decorated but everyone at the party commented on how moist the cake was and how great the under-the-sea decorating complemented the sharks. The owner and Bakery staff were great; helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Ewing Cakes!“

“My girlfriend and I have brunch here every weekend. The food and ambiance are fantastic! The service is also excellent. The smashed avocado tartine is by far our favorite dish, and any espresso drink we’ve gotten to date has been amazing. It does get a bit crowded around 10am-11am on the weekends, but tables usually clear out quickly enough such that you’re seated before your food arrives. Overall I could not recommend this place more!“
