They apparently didn't have them or had run out that night (although it wasn't extremely busy) and without informing me, they just substituted some salmon- not exactly an even swap! I should have been told they didn't have a key component of the dish, so I could opt for another entree. It was good, but the idea it was advertised as containing scallops was a deciding factor in choosing that particular dish.“

“The food here is great, I usually get the eggplant pizza and it's truly amazing, good sauce with nice fresh fries eggplant and mozzarella cheese and ricotta. Both times I’ve ate here our server was Lisa is she is so friendly, knowledgeable and straight up phenomenal. Chef Emily cooks amazing, delicious food. Bottom line is what they do here for the local community is utterly amazing. The concept is to pay it forward so someone else who cannot afford to eat can come in and enjoy a hot meal. They recommend $25 per person, giving more if you are able is always welcome. It is truly farm to table food. They have their own farm which was donated to them. They grow their own herbs out front. They sell shirts, mugs, seasonings and yummy local honey. Every time I’m in NJ on vacation I will always make it a point to come to JBJ Soul not only for a good meal but to donate.“

“We love coming to Rooney's! The brunch is exceptional! If you're in the section closest to the ocean it is extremely loud. But the indoors that is raised you can see over everyone's heads in that room and still enjoy the beautiful ocean view! The food is delicious! The service is wonderful! And you can always go for a walk afterwards on the boardwalk! Parking is plentiful right next to the restaurant! And there is no charge!“

The food is absolutely incredible, the restaurant is beautiful and welcoming with a really cool open kitchen and chef's table, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my party had a great night. And I have to add to the chorus - the Voodoo Shrimp really IS that good! Everyone who orders the pork chop special always loves it, I love the crawfish étouffée, and the escargot was very good too. They have a small selection of beer but good choices, seemed to have decent liquor selection as well. They also have a little section to purchase for home. The food is delicious and the servers friendly and attentive.Normally I only order homemade hash, but Gloria (our server) exclaimed that theirs was really good (even out of the can) and she was right. It was perfectly made and tasty, with crunchy well done edges.It was crowded when we arrived (noon), but plenty of seating after 1pm.The diner is not wheelchair accessible, but there is an outdoor space that may be accessible in the warm months (outdoor space was closed today). There are steps leading up the front door, and the inside is pretty tight, as far as maneuverability.Few parking places out front, but plenty of street parking on a quiet street.Will definitely return!!“

The wings are unique, I never had them this way, looks like they were rubbed then baked, delicious bold flavor! My wife ordered the lobster bisque, it was one of the best bisques we had so far! The server recommended the focaccia bread, it was freshly made and served with marinara side and olive oil side, calamari were good, the only complaint was that it need another 30 seconds in the frier, they felt little raw when eating them. We got cali burger which was great, juicy and tasty! I order the chicken sandwich also very tasty and delicious! Bulgogi tacos are amazing!!! A bit pricey for the size of the "little" hero but who doesn't over charge today? Only probelm is they seem to have has a gnat problem over the summer.
