“Best dining experience since we moved from Philadelphia to Sussex County 4 years ago, and we've had a number of fantastic ones in this region - but James on Main was the best all around by far. Their cuisine choices and their execution were top notch quality and consistency. The team is small and tight, it's like watching a ballet. Shawn (sp?) has mastered the wood fired oven like my German mother-in-law, John I think was the sauté station, Kelly operated a cold station and expedited, she appeared to be the glue holding the timing together, and Kat (or Cat?) was our delightful and professional (and very knowledgeable) server. The menu changes with various numbers of Pre Fixe courses - we went with 3 and added a share, a dessert, and a bottle of wine. The pictures will have to tell the story because it would be too much to write about... suffice to say, you won't find better around here.“

The food was very flavorful and not overpowered with salt. The buffalo chicken egg roll was delicious. My little one enjoyed the mac n cheese with a grilled cheese (just cheddar). I ate some of her meal too! LOL. I had the meatloaf with mash and gravy and sauteed green beans. This entree hit the spot. My husband had the chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were lightly coated and seasoned just enough. Now I know when people hear GF dessert, they're turned off. Nope, the GF Black and white cake for dessert was very moist, lightly sweetened, and delicious. This place was fantastic. I will return and recommend that you try it.“
“First visit to Alice’s. We will return. Fun bar downstairs with outside heated seating looking over the lake. The food was ok. Steak was ordered rare and that came out perfect. The Salmon though was over cooked. Sides were fine though the vegetables were a mix of warm and cold. Service was great. Nice people.“

“Stopped here after church and was pleasantly surprised. The owner greeted us and sat us immediately. You can genuinely see his care and pride in the restaurant. The service was outstanding. Our daughter was the only child there but they all fussed over her. We really appreciated that. They also made menu modifications for her with no issues. We all loved our food. Portions were plenty and we all brought home some leftovers. Oh and get the beets if you are a beet person. They were fantastic!“

The restaurant is well run, all the staff is very nice and treated us well, the portions are ample and the food is very good.I had a NY strip and it came medium as I ordered it. The steak was properly seasoned with salt and pepper. I had a rather large baked potato with the steakMy wife had a burger and a salad which she said was also very good and was more than she could eat. The salad came home with us.Both meals came out at the same time and both were hot. Our server was Harley. She stopped by frequently to see if we needed anything and that the food met our expectations. It was not super busy and she took time to chat with us which was nice.We went because the manager, Laurel Hill, very graciously, took time to put together a very nice gift basket as a door prize, for the Mount Olive Jr. AF ROTC’s bingo night and we like to support businesses that support organizations that do good in our community.This Longhorn Steakhouse is much better than other Longhorn Steakhouses we tried, which were mediocre. “The perfect place for a larger family outing. Celebrated a birthday with a dozen plus people including a handful of kids. Spacious interior (outside too in warmer weather). We were seated appropriately in the back room with a great view of the lake and away from adults only by the fireplace. Kids were free to be kids without disturbing others. Without exception, food and drinks were delicious and our waiter was great. With Horse Shoe Lake Park right down the road, it allowed us all to burn off some of the calories.“

“The service here was fantastic! I only wish the food matched. The burrata app was actually quite good and flavorful, however the lobster ravioli, not so much. The sauce did not have much flavor, and the filling in the ravioli was mealy and subpar in flavor as well. There was a huge pile of spinach dolloped in the center of the plate, and was way too much for my liking. It definitely took away from any lobster flavor that existed. I had to push most of it aside. I would not recommend this dish. The cocktails saved the meal and were quite delicious though.“

“I past but this place very often and it always catches my eyes, because of it's unique A-frame log cabin look. Also, that it has a sign that says 'Drive-Thru' and next to it is another sign that says 'We Sell Beer'...always shake my head and have a chuckle!! One day decided to pop in and grab a dog. The inside is a bit odd, as the outside. The interior decor is a mashup of ski log cabin, a diner, and a hot dog stand...hilarious!! The staff at the counter was friendly and patiently waited for me to decide on what I wanted...breakfast or lunch...brunch times are the toughest!! Their menu board is larger than expected, also they serve breakfast all day. So, I got the breakfast sandwich to go and a hotdog with fries and a shake to eat in. The food was ok, a little pricey for average size portions. The staff was nice as they brought the food to the table. As I was sitting there looking around, taking in the unique decor once again. Not saying it's bad, just needs a few things updated. One area I enjoyed looking at...was a display case with the owner's father U.S. Army service jacket from WWII with a couple of his medals, photos, and letters. Definitely respect and appreciated that display of that history. One day I would like to come back to help them update that display case.“

“My family had a great birthday dinner here! All of the seafood dishes we had were excellent. There was a small mix-up where our appetizer was delivered to the wrong table and a different one was given to us- and the waitress said she let the other table keep the app but took ours away. We were disappointed to learn that the other table got a free app and we didn’t, plus we had to wait longer. Despite this I would still highly recommend, just maybe not during their busiest hours. I especially recommend the shrimp and scallop risotto, and s’mores old fashioned cocktail!“

“Lakeside tavern is a great place to go! The bartenders are amazing. Michele is my favorite to visit every time I go. The line dancing every week is so much fun! It’s great when they have entertainment. They really should charge a cover charge because you’re getting a lot. “Going here is so odd in a good unexpected time travel trip to a small English tea shop?!?! Pot pies alone are worth going for, never realized how good scones are until I had them at Sally's. Lunch specials are actually special and not run of the mill food like other places. Fresh carved turkey with apples and brie sandwiches, pressed! Come on!! So good and the soup really was like home made soup. It got crowded while we were there so we left because we have our baby with us and covid sucks. “Surprisingly good Irish food. We stopped in on a random Wednesday night while staying in the area. There was some bingo going on and it was not very crowded. I always feel the need to try corned beef or a Reuben any time I visit any Irish eatery. I asked the server how the Reuben egg rolls (yes Reuben egg rolls!) were and she said they are a big hit. So I got those as an appetizer and they were very good and something very unique. I also had the burger with corned beef on it and it was cooked perfect and the corned beef had just the right amount of tang to it. My daughter loved her fries and mozzarella sticks and filled up on those before she even got to try her Mac and cheese. Overall the food was delicious, the server was incredibly friendly and helpful and was extremely patient with a 4 year old that was a bit fussy from traveling all day. I'll certainly return the next time I'm in the area.“

My wife really enjoyed her chicken over pasta, and I was surprised by the quality of the prime rib king cut. The prime rib was fresh, tender, and juicy. It was a bit under seasoned, but it didn't matter at all. The quality of the meat was really impressive. There was no photo of dessert, but the apple crisp was warm and delicious.“

“All in all we very much enjoyed our night out to PH Steakehouse. Drinks were properly made and they had Monkey 47 (my favorite gin that can be hard to find at restaurants) and we enjoyed everything we ordered. They start the night with complimentary Parker house rolls and a seasoned olive oil. I sprung for the French onion soup, which I must admit was one of the best I’ve ever had. Our entrees were enjoyable, however my wife’s medium filet came out closer to medium rare. Having cooked many steaks I fully understand this can happen and they were happy to refire it to my wife’s content. I got the swordfish entree which was cooked perfectly (grill marks and all) and was pleasant enough. My one gripe is the rice and veggies that came on the plate screamed for updating. They were reminiscent of a restaurant from the 70’s, completely bland and felt as if they were there to fill the plate rather than to enjoy. We paid a little more than I would of liked considering I’ve had better meals at the price point, but all in all I would return here.“

“2/23/24: The Stanhope House dates back to 1798! It's like the all time Great American Road House. A group of us came put to support our friend's friend BD Lentz- blues guitarist. What an amazing show BD and his other accompanying musicians put on! The venue had phenomenal acoustics. Many of us were on the dance floor getting down. Many of the GREATS like Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter... have performed here. A basic bar menu is available. We had Beer, Pinot Noir, Cesar Salad, Sweet Potato Fries and Coconut Shrimp. All the food was pretty decent. The entire staff is very friendly. Parking is available in back of the building. "Presently , there's been a lot of talk about tearing this great historic place down. “After a morning out and after adventuring, I was all the way out in Hackettstown and in need of some solid bar food. I found Marley's via my trusty fellow yelpers and was so glad that I made the effort to pop in. I was immediately sat at a high-top close to the bar, and got water quickly. Their menu had an expansive list of your typical bar foods, but I got the potato skins (YUM) and their buffalo chicken salad. That thing was humongous and delicious. Everything about the food here I had was solid and hit the spot. While their customer service could be a bit more attentive, because it was hard to flag people down to extra things as you needed it, everything else was fine from the quality of the food, the speed of service, cleanliness, etc. This place is solid and the portion of the food was stunning. I'd recommend this place to anyone popping in for a quick snack/eat or needing a drink/bar food.“
“We go to Chilis quite often and are always welcomed with open arms! Our waitress Alexis is the best, and is always making sure our little ones food order comes out not long after being seated so he can eat right away! Our son also has food allergies and the staff is always very accommodating to make sure he’s given safe foods to eat. The manager Edgar is always checking on us and making sure all is good and everyone is happy. If he gets a quick minute he even helps keep our son entertained by giving him a quick tour of the kitchen! It’s so nice to go to a place and be treated like family :-)“
