“The açaí bowls remind me of how açaí should taste and how it used to taste before it became overly commercialized. The staff is always friendly. The space is very clean. The paninis are so good! When I work in Manhattan, I miss my Astoria location. I'm glad they moved in.“
“This place is a true gem.To be fair, I don't really have any experience with Brazilian cuisine outside of the defacto steakhouse type environment, but I am aware of what great flavors and fantastic service are like and they have it in spades here. While I didn't know what to expect, everything I tried was seemingly better than the last. The food is surprisingly filling too. I thought when it came to the table we'd be stopping again soon elsewhere or ordering more, but we were all stuffed in the end.We actually visited their other location and had some chicken wings and a cocktail, and I gotta tell you the chicken wings shocked the hell out of me. I love chicken wings and these were top notch. Super crispy and had a great sauce on them (not overly done either, so you could actually taste the batter on the wings).“
“I work 12 hour shifts near here and I’m always soooo tired halfway through. I come here for a quick pick me up. The lady behind the counter is the absolute sweetest, drinks aside- she always lightens my mood. The açaí bowls are to die for- not mid. I’ve tried so many spots in Astoria and Vela is consistently yummy. Today. I went in for a milk tea and they ran out of boba. She went an extra mile to charge me for a medium despite me ordering a large! Soooo sweet. ??“
“Stumbled upon this joint randomly on my way home and what a surprise! The staff is really friendly and explained some of the sandwiches for me, decided to get the Chimi with chicken and the lava cake. Both were delicious and not the mention the fair prices.Although they don’t have an indoor sitting area, they have a small outdoor hut if you’d like to stay and dine in.Truly a hidden gem in the neighborhood, can’t wait to try some of their other specialities!“
“Good tacos and tortas at super reasonable prices. Their horchatas are also next level delicious (5/5). The Hawaiian torta (4/5), the shrimp gobernador (4/5), and the al pastor (4/5) were great but the shine was the birria taco (4.5/5). Overall I recommend!“
“This is my favorite cafe to take out from or dine in with a cozy and calm atmosphere to either take a break or do a little work while eating fresh, delicious food. The staff is friendly and the ingredients always top quality. The website is super convenient to order from when I’m busy and short on time. This is my favorite spot in NYC!Vegetarian options: Many options and always fresh!“
“This coffee shop is a gem. It’s neat, modern, clean, and the atmosphere is super soothing. There are words of affirmation on their mugs, which was a nice surprise.I had a latte with oat milk and it was refreshing. Seems to be a good place to order some coffee, read a book or get some work done. I didn’t get to check if there was WiFi or not, but this is a place I’d be willing to use my hotspot for.The staff were very warm and welcoming — I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the neighborhood to try a pastry or two! Thank you.“
“This is an excellent smoothie and acai bowl place, with a very fitting name! All of the fruit was fresh and smoothies are made to order. I was able to customize a smoothie with almond milk, spinach, banana, Nutella, blueberries, and avocado. It was actually surprisingly good and hit just the spot. So glad to have found this healthy juice/smoothie place in Jersey City!“
“My two nieces and I popped in this morning on our way to the Natural History Museum. I’ll admit I was hesitant but thankfully I listened to my nieces! I had the avocado and eggs in a crepe, which was the best gluten-free sandwich I have ever had. Did not miss the bread at all. My 14 year old chose the Nutella crepe with banana and the 9 ounce Açaí bowl. Oldest selected one of the big bowls … it was a work of art. Highly recommend and we will be back on our next trip. All the best on your growth plans!“
“I bumped into this shop shortly after they opened not too long ago. I was extremely pleased with my experience. Excellent juicy lamb and chicken gyro sandwiches, salads, and rice platter! All halal, too. They also serve other dishes. Their menu is not extensive, but I prefer this, since everything is made freshly and their turnover is really fast. The salads are very fresh, everything is juicy and their portions are very generous. The gyro sandwiches and platters include a can of soda, so everything is in my opinion very competitively priced. The people in the store are very kind and attentive, and I have become a frequent visitor who is greeted with a smile. When showing the place to a visiting family, who praised the platter the “best gyro” they ever had, the owner gave one of the kids an extra platter to enjoy later. I think this speaks for itself.Kid-friendliness: High chairs, very casual, very kid friendly operators.“
“This is one of the best places to get a healthy smoothie, juice, shots or açaí bowls. I’ve came here twice and they have not disappointed. They have very fast service and they also don’t have one of those overwhelming menus. The smoothies they make are flavorful and just rich in protein I loved their açaí pitaya bowl. I would definitely have it again.I’d recommend them if you’re looking for healthy snack or a pick me up after a long night.“
“There are three things I absolutely love: good coffee, healthy food, and exploring new places. Recently, I discovered an all-day cafe with a worker-owner model, and they've just opened their third location in Murray Hill. I tried their mushrooms with feta on toast along with a latte, and it was absolutely delicious! The addition of seeds and grains gave it an extra texture that I enjoyed. The service was incredibly quick, and I snagged a lovely seat outside for some people watching. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!“
“If you are looking for place with good vibe and great food, check this one out! Poke bowl & acaii bowl both are fresh, very fulfilling, taste ????? lots of options and worth every pennyService was very quick yet everything is always put beautifully on my plate. I’ve tried dine in, take out, delivery, everytime piki poke always hit it!I’ve seen family with kids, fdny, gym people and senior here. No doubt about their freshness and qualityStaffs are very friendly and very attentive. This place is probably the most underrated in Astoria. Definitely a hidden gem“
“Perfect start to the day! We stayed here 4 or 5 times during our week in NY for breakfast. We tested porridge, acai bowls and smoothies. The "Hell's Kitchen Sink" tastes awesome (with peanut butter and cocoa nips.) The smoothies Boo Berry, Gymbuddy and Energy Boost are each made with almond or coconut milk and protein powder .We loved everything! The service is very friendly and There are only a few seats, so we were there early (about 8 / 9h) and had no problems getting a small table. Now we are back home and miss the delicious bowls!“
“Best Poke in Hoboken. Everything is so fresh and the sauces are always so good. The kale noodles are the best base by far too, worth a try. Very good price for the quality of the food. Service is quick even though the place can get very busy. Not the best seating options for dine in (more outside seating so raining days especially), so I would suggest carry out.“
“I absolutely love this place. I come here once or twice a day. The smoothies are excellent. My favorites are peach’s delight and peanut butter punch. Most times I add some combination of mango, coconut and/or spinach to the peanut butter one. I haven’t tried the juices or açaí bowls yet but I’ve heard many great reviews from people I trust. The customer service in this tiny gem of a store is also A1. They care about their customers, I can tell. I hope you guys stay open for a very long time.“
“Best spot in queens to get your açaí bowl. I highly recommend. It’s so delicious and worth the trip. Very good quality and affordable prices. Let’s keep supporting the small local businesses! You won’t regret it. Excellent customer service and experience all the time.“
“The Green LIC is a top notch health and wellness establishment. The owners demonstrate a clear understanding of their community, and the importance of wellness, Whole Foods, clean ingredients, and customer service. It is the juice bar I shop at exclusively in the neighborhood. I am proud to continue shopping with them and witness their growth. All the best to the team at The Green LIC!“
“Very healthy and fresh selections. I tried their orange juice, iced coffee, and egg and cheese on a bagel. Very satisfying. Also had a blueberry muffin with coffee another time, which was quite good. Looking forward to trying a smoothie. Great vegan, vegetarian, and keto options. Friendly, good service.“
“Hawa Smoothies is a tiny shop that specializes in acai bowls and smoothies. They have a variety of flavors and variations in fruits and additions like bee pollen, see moss, and hemp protein. I ended up getting a large Acai Punch smoothie ($10) with protein ($1). This was an acai-based smoothie with peanut butter. I should've gotten a small because this drink was HUGE. It was well worth the price. The flavor was also delicious, though I did start to get tired of it halfway through. I tried my friend's fruit smoothie (one of the ones with strawberry and mango) and she thought it was sour, but I thought it was really tasty and refreshing and not sour at all.“
“The staff here is extremely helpful and kind. I had an Oakberry coupon that wasn’t applicable to this location but they still chose to honor it for me as a courtesy in order to save me the walk to another location. Much appreciated and the smoothie was delicious too!“
“Absolutely amazing!! The food is always delicious, they care about their customers like family, and the decor is beautiful! I highly recommend the Chai Spice Tea w/ Almond milk and cinnamon and their breakfast sandwiches with fresh avocado. Great local spot to have breakfast, bring a romantic date, or have your next special event! Their fresh baked bread is also incredible!“
“Absolutely Love this spot. It’s my fave go to whenever I’m in town visiting my Dad & younger Brother. It’s always so fresh and clean, they offer amending customer service. It’s such a plus that they have some pre-made wellness shots, and they carry Detox Bitters &other supplements like Irish moss, hibiscus, raw black seed & more. They also carry a variety of skincare goodies. The yummy health food options are endless!Did I forget mention great customer service? ?“
“Great service- fast- big open space inside with plenty of tables and a tv. The juice was delicious- ordered the Rebecca Romain and it had a great kick! The sea moss shot was also good. I've never had one before so I was nervous but it tasted just fine. I felt very healthy“
“The food was very pleasing and had a really nice base. The base was tangy, sweet, sour and savory. The toppings were filling up the top and very nicely placed. Also they're mini size was perfect and small but filling. The service was very well and the workers did not take that long. I would say we waiting less than a minute for the acai bowl to be ready! Also, I had really enjoyed the music playlist, and had a nice interaction about music with the worker. The atmosphere was very nice, they're were nice, bright colors, a comfy couch and clear menus. In addition, they were very considerate and added a charging station, even though i did not use it, it seemed very nice. Love this place and I ordered the Purple Rain. My first time and this place made a really nice impression on me.“
“The food is delicious. It's also pretty filling, and for the price of the portions I would get it again. I've already been 2 times. The place is big with lots of indoor seating and outdoor seating. The service is fast and nice. There are many flies though, probably because the door is open and the fruit is out.“
“The smoothies and acai bowls are great. You can be creative with the combinations to create your own healthy meal or drink, or order straight from the posted menu. Ask for Rashid; he's excellent at making each smoothie and bowl and knows the usual customer's orders by heart. Great spot.“
“Rarely do I feel compelled to leave a review, but I came into this store recently and received outstanding service. Melinda was so kind and cheerful - it really made my day. It’s rare to have such an encounter and she was truly a gem that made me want to become a regular. Not to mention the smoothie was delicious and the store extremely clean.“
“As someone stuck at home battling COVID and its symptoms, a smoothie from Playa Bowls was a bright spot in my otherwise lousy day. Full of flavor, Playa Bowls has a nice assortment of smoothies and açaí bowls that can serve as both a sweet treat or a nutritious meal. DoorDash allowed me to order from home and get my smoothie in less than 20 minutes, which is a huge win. I'll definitely be back (hopefully in person)!“
“This is my SPOT! I come here after workouts and love the classic açaí bowl. The tropical pitaya and peanut butter protein bowls are also very good. I've never eaten inside, but it's decent decor (just get to-go). The girls making the bowls are pretty quick and always offer a smile. This is the only place I get my açaís in Jersey!“
“Being on the go a lot, usually far from home, I’m always looking for counter service joints that have tasty, simply made real foods done quick with a nice staff and comfortable environment. This place fits the bill. Had a “Wild Child” salad, tasted great, felt good after eating it, gentle service. So in the counter service genre 5 stars. Experiences may differ but mine was great. I got there sorta late, and when the staff member put up chairs she was gentle…she could have clanged the chairs together and made a racket (happens frequently). Anyway…I really appreciated that.“
“Juicy Cube is the one of the best juice spots in NY. The juice, smoothies and açaí bowls are consistently excellent, and the warm and friendly staff keep me coming back. The orders are prepared quickly. It’s worth to stop by and grab a drink, and you won’t be disappointed! Love this place! Highly recommend!“
“Now y'all know I was going to like this place! Minority women on! Can't lose with this one! But seriously, they use natural foods! My friend ordered some type of Fancy Pants crepe. All I can say is the smell made me hungry! But the fact that they made watermelon lemonade fresh.. you have my vote hands down! Even though Chick-fil-A's has it right now, but their's is syrupy sweet! This minority woman on establishments watermelon lemonade leaves you refreshed! It's not heavy at all! And it's still flavorful! And as a southerner who is big on lemonade, I approve it!“
“Been coming to this neighborhood spot since they opened right by my home. I love the variety of flavor combos here, and everything I've tried so far (smoothies, acai bowls) have been delicious! I think it's great value for the smoothie and it's refreshing to have this as an option here in Chelsea (plus I would rather support a small business vs the big smoothie franchises). I will be back!“
“Staff needs to stay off their phone or at least be discreet I'm sure they're supervisors tell them all the time. It's a little rude in customer service which I am in ,too have to be the customer and stand there for 30 seconds watching someone doing a text... I don't really care in the end because I just want my food and I'll yell over and say "hello!" but I shouldn't have to do that..Other than that everything is fresh and all ingredients are good never had a bad meal from this playa bowls ❤️“
“In my recent experience with the "Mocha Muscle" beverage, which boasted a blend of banana, vanilla protein, cold-brewed coffee, almond milk, I found it to be an overall pleasurable drink. While the concoction was notably good, my preference leans towards a more pronounced coffee taste. I sensed a slight imbalance, with the banana overpowering the coffee undertones. Despite this observation, the drink held its own, showcasing a commendable fusion of flavors, particularly the harmonious combination of vanilla proteinThe Koa Bowl, a delightful creation comprising granola, cashews, flax seeds, coconut flakes, and cocoa nibs, left a lasting impression with its delectable medley of textures and tastes. The synergy of the crunchy granola, creamy cashews, and the subtle crunch of flax seeds, enhanced by the sweetness of coconut flakes and the richness of cocoa nibs, created a memorable and flavorful bowl. Each component contributed to a well-balanced and satisfying culinary experience.Moving on to the "Kale Smoothie," featuring organic kale, banana, pineapple, honey, coconut milk, and apple juice, this drink managed to surpass my expectations despite my initial hesitation towards kale and spinach in beverages. The result was a surprisingly tasty concoction that effectively masked the assertive flavors of kale and spinach, providing a sweet and refreshing taste. The inclusion of banana, pineapple, honey, and coconut milk contributed to the overall palatability of the smoothie, making it a noteworthy choice even for those less inclined towards greens in their drinks.Lastly, the "Green Goddess" lived up to its name by fulfilling its intended purpose of cleansing. This drink, with its combination of cleansing ingredients, left me with a sense of rejuvenation and ensured a thorough "cleaning out."In conclusion, despite a minor preference for a stronger coffee note in the Mocha Muscle drink, the overall experience with these offerings was highly positive. The Koa Bowl and Kale Smoothie stood out for their exceptional flavors and creative ingredient combinations, while the Green Goddess left a lasting impression with its detoxifying effects.“
“I had an açaí peanut butter bowl. All the ingredients were fresh and high quality and the experience was fine The only thing that I could see that could be improved is the açaí recipe. It needs a little tartness— maybe a little citric acid or apple juice or grape juice to boost the flavor profile. Overall i liked the bowl and the shop.“
“Came here for their Madison Square drink which sounds amazing, only to realize they rarely make anything fresh and made-to-order. They bottle the drinks in the front, and if they run out, you're out of luck - which is what happened with the Madison Square. Not a fan of not having a juice freshly made. Got the new green smoothie which was good, but a bit too heavy on the lemon. If I'm back in the area, would come back for that Madison Square.“
“I saw many people order from Playa Bowls to the office and wanted to try it. I ordered the Pacific Green Bowl which was a kale blend and I personally loved it! Felt like a green smoothie but more filling and the portions are amazing. They gave so much fruit on top and I've ordered multiple times from here!“
“I met a work colleague here the other day as we were looking for someplace to set up for the afternoon prior to an evening event. I ordered espresso and it was excellent. I then ordered a chicken sandwich with grilled peppers and onions, it was very very good. The Cafe is constantly busy and there are teenagers everywhere because I'm guessing there is a high school near by. The bathroom was impeccably clean!“
“I was feeling fresh and healthy af after the post hot yoga endorphins hit, and felt I needed a green juice to keep the train rolling. I was letting the spirits guide me and stumbled upon this place on the walk home.I did a quick google search on them, and realized all of their products are organic with no added chemicals so I was hyped.I got a large Fiberizer for $10, and did indeed feel fiberized after so it really did it's job. Also, you get a free turmeric shot when you spend over $8.95 so that's a nice touch as well.I'll be back soon *eyes emoji*“
“The Green Goddess drink, featuring almond milk, banana, pineapple, spinach, kale, and a double dose of vanilla protein, defied my preconceived notions regarding greens in protein beverages. Typically averse to the bitter aftertaste often associated with kale and spinach in such concoctions, I was pleasantly surprised by the remarkable blend offered by this drink. It proved to be an unparalleled delight, elevating my expectations for greens-based beverages. The amalgamation of almond milk, banana, pineapple, spinach, kale, and the double vanilla protein resulted in an exceptionally well-balanced and flavorful drink. The usual bitterness was notably absent, replaced instead by a symphony of complementary flavors that seamlessly intertwined, delivering a genuinely enjoyable and invigorating experience. This Green Goddess creation transcended my initial reservations, emerging as a testament to masterful mixology and flavor harmony.Furthermore, the Daily Detox drink, comprising apple, carrot, lemon, and cucumber, exemplified precision in balance and taste. Its smooth and harmonious fusion of ingredients was commendable, offering a refreshing and satisfying drinking experience. Not only did it go down effortlessly, but its effectiveness in fulfilling its detoxifying purpose was evident, leaving a positive impression of vitality and rejuvenation. In summary, both the Green Goddess and the Daily Detox drinks excelled beyond expectations. The former, despite my aversion to certain greens, triumphed with an exquisite blend of flavors, while the latter showcased a meticulous balance that seamlessly delivered on its detoxifying promise. These drinks earn a resounding 10/10 rating, and without hesitation, I express my admiration and eagerness to reorder, as they left an indelible mark with their exceptional quality and delightful taste.“
“Wajid at playa bowls macdougal street always delivers. His customer service is incredible - he always goes above and beyond. As a UK citizen i’m not usually a fan of tipping culture but i’m always happy to tip at playa bowls. Especially when being served by Wajid!“
“The star of the show at The North Bowl is undeniably the acai bowls. The bowls were a visual delight, resembling vibrant canvases adorned with a medley of fruits, nuts, and granola. Each bite was a burst of freshness, as the velvety acai base harmonized with the crisp textures of the toppings. The balance of sweet and tart flavors showcased the careful selection and quality of the ingredients. One standout among the House Specials was the "Blue Narwhal," featuring a blue coconut base with strawberries and blueberry. The tropical symphony of flavors transported me to a beachside paradise, making it a refreshing choice that left me yearning for more. The customizable options allowed for a personalized experience, ensuring that every bowl catered to individual preferences. The smoothies at The North bowl were equally impressive, offering a refreshing alternative for those on the go. The "Leify Greens" smoothie, with kale, pineapple, and a touch of avocado, was a revitalizing potion that energized both my body and taste buds. The use of fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident, making each sip a nutritious and enjoyable experience. The North Bowls commitment to health and sustainability was evident in their sourcing practices. Locally sourced fruits and eco-friendly packaging demonstrated a dedication to both community and the environment, adding an extra layer of satisfaction to the dining experience. In conclusion, The North Bowl is a shining star in the realm of acai bowls and smoothies. The thoughtfully crafted menu, vibrant ambiance, and commitment to quality make it a standout choice for those seeking a wholesome and flavorful culinary adventure. Whether you're a health-conscious individual or simply someone in search of a delicious treat, The North Bowl is sure to leave you with a taste of pure bliss, making it a go-to spot for acai enthusiasts and smoothie aficionados alike.“
“I came here on a Friday morning around 9:30am. It's a small cafe, but there were a couple seats at the large communal table. I had an almond milk cappuccino, which was wonderful. The barista was really nice. The only downside is that there are no outlets. Great spot to grab coffee and chat, or to sit down and read, but not somewhere that you can really stay and do work.“
“The smoothie that I had in years! Service is really friendly too and they are open to your request. They also give good recommendations for drinks especially you are looking for health regiments. They also have good bubble tea too! I personally get myself a strawberry smoothie because their strawberries are fresh! They got good healthier options too! So I definitely recommend if you love smoothies, bubble tea, protein shakes or other healthy regiments.“
“Really yummy and amazing prices!! This is a neighborhood gem for sure. Doesnt look like much on the outside but dont be fooled bc they have delicious smoothies. Got the green apple delight and the mango. Both were very good. I’ll be back!“
“Got the power bowl which has protein powder mixed in with the acai. I also got honey which was an extra $1.50 (crazy for a literal drizzle of honey). Ended up being kind of expensive, $17 for an acai bowl is not ideal. But it was good acai. Nice and smooth, good flavor. Liked how there was granola on the bottom layer as well as the top.“
“a really good spot in the area for fresh smoothies. prices are affordable. the only thing i HATE is that they use the same knife they are cutting the greens/veggies with to cut the fruits or they are using the same cutting board. i shouldn’t be tasting ginger or garlic in a strawberry, banana blueberry smoothie. other than that, they are good.“
“Very good option for desserts and some other baked goods. The prices are high for the quantity and ingredients.... But people are used to paying for a treat like what is sold here. Monday is beautiful, fresh, clean and welcoming. The attention is good! They should just review the prices and lower them a little and maybe then they will have many more customers and earn more from volume sales than from one-to-one sales.“
