“We ordered carnita tacos and the presentation was very good, although the meat was a little too salty, you could eat it, the atmosphere is like a bar where you can go to talk with friends but it is also familiar. In conclusion it is nothing wow but it is not the worst either so you can pass on the customer service is good.“

“Great atmosphere. All T hat was my partner and I first time there. We had so much fun. We played pool and ate chicken wings. The drinks wasn't watered down at all. I actually got tipsy off of one drink. That has never happened before . The music was good as well as customer service. We will be going back.“

“Very clean area, especially considering all the traffic from the main ave they’re on. Fast, friendly and knowledgeable staff that took the time to tell me what was in the traditional dishes i was interested in. The Pulique I had just now already tells me I will be here lots during the winter for all those delicious broths. Super soft yet help together chuchitos “tamales”. Flavor all throughout each dish, looking forward to trying out rest iOS the menu.“

“This is a review from June, but my party and I ate here twice while staying in the area. We got the traditional breakfast both times. Excellent food, great price, and the employees are very friendly. The portions are large and come with a lot of sides. I didn’t each much good food in NY, but if I were to visit again, I would absolutely patronize this restaurant again. Be aware there is limited street parking.“

“Gilberto’s is a historical staple in the North Bergen Community, proudly serving upper North Bergen with traditional hispanic dishes.
The menu consists of daily meals (ex: “we serve pot roast and pork on monday for this meal and beef next day”) along side some everyday general options.
This “cafeteria” really is so small and downscale, so dont expect complete upscale food, but you do have a warm cozy hispanic spot. There is a language barrier between English and Spanish but I personally didnt need to worry about it ymmv
Options include soups, some meats, some carb options (tostones, bean, rice) and some veggies.
Food is cheap, but there is a $10 card minimum.“

“Walked to this restaurant/bar twice from my hotel while on business from the Midwest. I don’t speak Spanish, yet all the patrons and staff do! Everyone was super friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in music, people and food heavily influenced by the Caribbean & Central America. Prices were reasonable, food was great, but the friendly/happy vibe was the best part. I’ll be back…“

“The entrance to the restaurant/bar is in the hotel lobby. We received a friendly welcome. We were given a small menu. We opted for penne with a tomato sauce. It was very tasty and sufficient. An error in the billing was immediately corrected to our satisfaction. We can recommend it.“
