“We went for dinner around 5pm today with a group of 7 and everything was fantastic!!! The food was so fresh and flavorful. You can definitely tell they put love into their food and pride themselves on great presentation. BYOB with great mixers and smoothies. The service was very attentive and friendly. “Food is great very creative I’d recommend the shrimp taco, new favorite place drinks are good too not watered down like other places. Service here is awesome. Leah is great our second visit she remembered my name she treats her regulars like we visit everyday. At one point I thought she was the owner bc she does such a great job running the place. “Pineapple Raisin Tamale is understated! Get Pineapple Raisin Tamale if it is offered. Get two! Get Three! It's pretty awesome and I am kicking myself for getting just one and having to share! Relative to the tacos I think these tamales may not get as much publicity but they are unique and fantastic! Of course the tacos are great as well. Of the two taco versions, Lamb and Pork, the Pork was my favorite. The lamb was slightly dry and maybe needed a little spice for my taste. If you have to get them to go because of lack of seating, don't wait too long to eat! If only their standard hours of business were better I'd be there more often.“

“We had the best service with Kate! She gave us tips on what to order and ahead of time was dead on. We started with a cocktail and had a glass of wine with dinner. We split the spicy chicken empanadas, delicious, however, we did not detect the spice. We split the green chili Caesar. Honestly, the best Caesar in town. I do t see how they get it so cold and crisp, it's amazing! We then each had a ceviche. The baby shrimp, which were much bigger than anticipated, such wonderful flavor! My daughter had the crab, the server suggested mixing it right away to get the sauce mixed in. Very good! It did need more liquid. We simply poured the extra shrimp sauce in the crab, it was superb after that. The tomato on the shrimp just gives it more moisture and such a good flavor! We can't wait to go back!“

“Everything has been delicious. I can only make it for breakfast or dinner during the week. Unfortunately they're only open for dinner on Sundays, so breakfast is my only choice and breakfast burrito my go to. I hope they're a permanent fixture in the neighborhood for years to come“

“I'm a native Texan and I am in HEAVEN. I just moved in down the street and this place is AMAZING. El Caracol serves up authentic dishes that are incredible and oh man I'm gonna eat so much. My husband ordered the camerones a la diabla (deviled shrimp) and they are gloriously garlicy. Add the orange sauce for extra spicy. I ordered the burrito mojado (wet burrito) with carnitas (it's the most delicious braised pork) and I could not stop eating it. The green salsa on the burrito is the perfect medium spicy. I cannot say enough good things. I am so thankful El Caracol is near me. It's small but this place is a must try. If you don't like it we can't be friends.“

“The food and drinks were amazing. I was surprised that the food was actually spicy because it's hard to find an upscale Mexican restaurant that actually has spicy food. Drinks were super tasty and the right amount of alcohol. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. AND MUSIC WAS amazing.“

“Awesome mexican restaurant in Fairmount! The restaurant looks small from the front but stretches back into really fun dining room. There is a patio option that would be great on a sunny day. The staff was very friendly and personable. I was seated as soon as I walked in but I did make a reservation beforehand. Our waitress made the recommendation for the Baja tacos and they did not disappoint (9/10) The carnitas tacos were excellent (9/10). We also started with the guacamole sampler, which comes with house chips and salsa. The plain guac was just average, but both the street corn and the spicy tuna guacamole were amazing. My friend and I split a margarita pitcher and they were great! A little sweet but perfectly strong. Easily 4 drinks in a pitcher. Overall this place is great for a first date, catching up with friends, or just some amazing food. Cantina Feliz will definitely be added into my regular rotation.“

“This is one of those rare places that got everything right. The service was amazing, and the food was delicious. We started with guac and chips. We got 2 sauces that came with the complementary chips. One was green, and one was a cream based sauce. Both were really good and spicy. Guacamole was great with fresh chilies on top. Chips were fresh. For the main entree, I ordered vegetable fajitas, which came steaming hot to the table and was mouthwatering. My sister got vegetable enchiladas with Verde sauce. She said it was great with a kick to it. Both of the orders came with a side of rice and beans. Vegetable fajitas also came with a choice of soup or salad. I got the tortilla soup. We both ordered horchatas. They were cold and sweet with a hint of cinnamon. Delicious. The portions were a good size. If you are in the area or even if you aren't, def check this place out. 10/10.“

“A gem that always delivers in south philly! Super amazing tacos and tortas and from that I’d try much more of their menu in the future. They set the standard so I imagine the rest of the food is just as superb. Service here is always really good, servers are very energetic and kind and able to speak two languages, so utmost respect. “A fabulous place for late brunch early evening dining that ushers you into the weekend El Techo way. One of the best rooftop bars and restaurants in the city with amazing music. Won’t miss ordering anything off the menu drink or food. Loved the Mixed Greens Salad is was so fresh and the Barbacoa Tacos braised beef is tender and juicy. Service is excellent and you’ll notice that everyone from the host, to the kitchen, and waiters care that you have the best experience. Also, love that they use Toast for bill paying. IYKYK!“

I swear, I tested her patience with all my little requests and my husband's tardy drink orders, but she just kept on grinning. We got the special (a carne asada burrito), chicken enchiladas, and chips and salsa.We are visiting from out of town and brought our kids with us. The waitress initially acted like she had never seen a child before ? I understand that they do a big bar business, but it was before 5pm and it was honestly comical how surprised they seemed by children. The staff recovered quickly however and we had a very nice meal. “Great casual option with a large and varied menu that has something for everyone! We kept it simple and shared chips and guac, and each had an entree (quesadilla and burrito). All the food was good, but nothing struck us as a must recommend either. The restaurant has a lot of customers collecting take out and was full on a Friday night, so the servers were kept busy. It took us a little bit to get our order in, but once it was food was fast. It was also 6pm on a Friday though! We loved the decorations and ambiance. It looks like they have limited outside seating as well for nicer weather. It is BYO, and what I wish we realized in advance is if you bring liquor you can mix it into cocktails! I think they even made margaritas for the table next to us with their tequila bottle. Definitely looking to try that next time!“
