“Rich and flavorful broth! Great sides!

Wow! Firstly, very lovely first impression walking in and being seated. I am a big fan of the robin-egg colored tableware and the Miniso Dundun chicken timers lol. The place felt very clean and fresh, upon arriving.

Food:
The broth was extremely rich and flavorful! Genuinely tasted like it was prepared for a long time (10 hours) just like they advertise! It tasted very savory and it pairs well with the chicken and the other sides! The fish maw white fungus, chinese yam, pumpkin, and hand pulled noodles were all very fresh and high quality. I personally loved how chewy the noodles were after cooking it!

Our order was 2 servings it felt like a reasonable price. Definitely satisfied with the portion size given that we felt pretty full afterwards.

Service felt very welcoming and friendly.

The Mala Tang in the end was delicious. The broth was very flavorful and aromatic and the meats, vegetables and tofu tasted superb!“

“This is the only place I feel safe ordering in from as someone with food allergies. I have a dairy and gluten allergy and they are so accommodating with the dishes. You get big portions for a good price and the food is always so fresh. I also have a super stomach with some problems so I always feel icky eating out and since the food is cooked in high quality oil I never feel icky after eating here which is SO rare for me. The owner is incredibly kind and told me how she also has food allergies and is happy to make modifications and help. It’s so rare that restaurants welcome modifications and she always does so for me. I’ve never gotten sick here and it’s the one restaurant I feel comfortable ordering in from and look forward to doing so every week. The entire staff is helpful and are always kind and respectful even when the phone is ringing like crazy and there’s a line for pick up. They never rush you and always make you feel welcome. Recommended dishes:
Free-range chicken (a classic of Hunan cuisine, the chicken is delicious when killed alive), sizzling squid (not fishy at all, with the aroma of barbecue), dry-pot beef brisket (not too bad, not chewy, just the right texture), smoked bamboo shoots and beef rice noodles (freshly fried toppings, full of pot flavor, personally ranked first in the Edison rice noodle category)“

“Authentic Chinese food at a reasonable price. Water and tea are self-serving. We ordered Sweet & Sour Pork Chop, Seafood Rice Cakes and Mapo Tofu with pork, all were delicious. Will try something different next time.

“A small takeout Chinese eatery with a fairly standard menu selection bearing high average prices. Hong Kong Express serves americanized Chinese fare. Set in a small strip mall, there seems to be adequate parking. Upon entering, the first impression is clean. Featuring newer furnishings, decor and construction. As a child took my order and payment, this is clearly a family business.
So I've only had one dish at this place. I can say for freshness of ingredients, it's excellent. For amount of meat added, average. Unfortunately my dish was extremely bland. I had to add 7 packets of various sauce and that was still not enough. As I make this dish at home, the main sauce is soy. I wish I had grabbed more.
Speaking of sauce, no sauce, forks, chopsticks or napkins were added or offered. I'm glad I checked and added on my own.
This business succeeds in 2 major ways most other Chinese places don't (freshness and cleanliness). I hope I just caught an off dish. I'd return, but until I had a better dish, I wouldn't recommend.“

“The Chinese restaurant we used for years recently changed owners, and was not to our liking anymore. This was our first time ordering here and we were very pleased. I placed an order online and was it was delivered 20 minutes early. We ordered the kung pao chicken (extra spicy) combo, sesames chicken combo and wonton soup. All were tasty and fresh. “We’ve been ordering from the New Rice Bowl for 10 years and the food is always delicious! It’s always fresh and hot whether you have it delivered or pick it up. No matter how late or early I go the food is always made to order and consistent…never sitting around all day like in some places. I can’t say enough good things about New Rice Bowl!“

“The only negative I have (and it’s a big one and has happened 4-5 times now), I order no onion in my pepper steak and they add a $2 extra meat fee. I didn’t ask for extra meat to compensate for lack of veggies , and I don’t like it added without it being acknowledged or even approved/denied.. really not okay with that decision being made without my knowledge of it and will say something next time..

However when it comes to the food? Do it. Our usual orders are a some kind of mix of chicken&broccoli, pepper steak, boneless ribs, sesame chicken, fried wontons… everything has been great every time. One of the “better “ meats when it comes to both the chicken and the beef.. delivery is uncomfortably fast at times lol. Prices are average to anywhere else around here but the portions are great. “This is my favorite American-Chinese takeout spot in NJ! The owners are very nice, the food comes out quick, and the quality is good. I've tried other Chinese takeout places in the area, and China Wok is the only one that I've been satisfied with. I love their Crab Rangoon and like to get Beef Chow Fun. Our family went there for dinner and ended up having a great time. We highly recommend Traditional sweet sour fried pork, classic fried mushroom, fried lamb skewer, and the noodle soup.

My kids love the sausage fried rice so much that they were fighting for it. LOL.

We came in late but the waitress was so friendly and nice to us. We really appreciate the hospitality they offered and will certainly come back next time when we are close by.

“Casual take out Chinese with poor parking and a storefront that shows its time. Food preparation was quick. Food is fresh and delicious. My order is general tso chicken. As show in the attached photos, the chicken fills up the side of the container and is not layered over rice like some places do to cut costs. The portion is generous and I'm sure they just barely closed the lid. The chicken is cooked perfectly, lightly battered, fried to a crispy exterior and moist interior, I'm guessing dark meat which I prefer anyway. The sauce is tasty in this americanized version. The broccoli is fresh and healthy and steamed perfectly. The fried rice is excellent with pork, bean sprouts, green onions, and yellow onions. This rice was cooked expertly with wok hei, which is char, giving the rice a undertone of smoke. I'd pair this rice against that of upscale restaurants. Pork in the rice is abundant. Exerything in this order was fresh and cooked perfectly. My one negative is that general tso is supposed to have szechaun peppers and have heat, but this was sweet which is on par for most americanized Chinese eateries in the tri state area. As a visitor, I'm saddened I don't live closer to here as I would visit frequently. I do cook Chinese cuisine at home and can appreciate the technique and flavor in this order.\nOverall, excellent!\n\nEdit. This is now my third time coming here. The quality is consistently excellent. As I enjoy my lunch again I can taste that the oil use is fresh and clean.\nChinese has been my favorite cuisine since I was a child. For americanize szechuan, this is the BEST takeout I've had. I live in ny and come to this area twice a year for work. I look forward to coming here exclusively every trip. Last year I was disappointed to learn they were closed on the day I came (monday). If I lived local, I'd be a regular for sure!“
