Good menu choice, however I have been here twice and both times I waited an unacceptable long time (40+ minutes) for a single simple drink. The pick up process is unstructured and unreliable. What's the point in waiting if you cannot even receive your drink. Strongly not recommended.“

I am shocked that they’ve been in business for more than a year and I just found them now?Being an avid bubble tea lover along with my kids, I can’t say enough good things about this place. It is a hidden gem in the heart of JSQ. The owner is very down to earth and a people person. You won’t step out of that place without a smile. She will make your drink according to your preference. You can make as many adjustments as you’d like and she will do it with a smile.

We ordered 2 Oreo shakes and a latte bubble tea. I ordered them in M size, but she gave me in L size? and still charged me for M. My kids loved their Oreo shakes and I very much enjoyed my latte. I can’t wait to go back and try the other bubble tea flavors and the waffles and crepes.

The owner made my drink a month or so ago & gave me the wrong bubbles I asked for regular and she ended up giving me brown sugar and said can I come back the next day she will give me a free one lol long story short she wasn’t there the next day because I bring my daughter to this location and she was too lazy to fix my drink the day she messed it up. I get she was overwhelmed by working alone and having a lot of people ordering but she has to do better as an OWNER! I have a business myself and it’s a lot of things I do not do because you have to be professional.“

I got a strawberry matcha which tasted really good, but do note that the strawberry is highly concentrated and may overpower the matcha if you prefer a stronger matcha flavor. “Love coming here for bubble tea! Some of the best I’ve had in lower Manhattan. Service is quick and friendly too. Only a couple of barstools for seating so it’s more of an in-and-out kind of place. “I’ve visited Modern Tea Shop before, and was super happy with my drink (rose milk tea). Today I decided to try it again and go for a different flavor! They have a lot of floral-inspired teas which is unique and a great reason to go. I got the matcha jasmine milk tea (oat milk) with boba (50% sugar), and thought it was 7/10. The oat milk wasn’t as creamy, so it caused the drink to be a bit watery unfortunately. Also, the jasmine flavor was not very pronounced, either due to the way it’s made or the sugar level I chose. Not sure I would get that drink again, but would recommend the rose milk!“

I always appreciate free milk substitutions (lactose intolerance is a lifestyle at this point). “Low key one of my favorite (if not favorite outright) bubble tea places in the entire city. The service is great, the prices are reasonable (bubble tea is so expensive these days), and it just has a nice casual vibe. It's never too packed or rowdy. And most importantly, the bubble tea is always great.

My go-to here is the peach oolong with tea jelly and it never disappoints. The peach flavoring isn't overly artificial or cloyingly sweet like it can be at other places. It's really good!

Location is really nice as well, you can take your tea to go and chill in Washington Square Park nearby. Makes for a great afternoon or evening.“

The store is very clean and organized. One person is at register, 3 are making drinks in the back, one handing them out correctly, during heavy rush hour. Good amount of food without too much rice, tasty ingredients and good spicy sauces. I order once to take out and then the next week I went to the store because was too good. I really recommend this place! Eat there or at home whatever just give a try and you'll love it.
As a plus I find the place very clean and felt like home (the bathroom was better than mine)
I order a large plate and it was enough for 2 people (we don't eat so much but we were both full and satisfied).

We have tried the general Tao chicken, fried chicken, chicken and broccoli, all the egg rolls, all the different sushis on the menu and all those choices were solid. Good food.
