“Always great food and a favorite. We've been getting takeout here for years since we moved to the area during the pandemic.The red lentil soup is my favorite and the spanakopita is amazing! We've had most items on the menu, you really can't go wrong. I prefer the Chicken Shih which is grilled and marinated chicken over the Chicken Gyro but they are both good. My husband enjoys the lamb.Because the dinning room isn't open yet and the blinds often closed, I think a lot of folks don't know it's open. It's a hidden gem in Ramsey and right near the train station.“

“We had our baby's first birthday party / Korean dohljanchi at Mado and it could not have been more perfect. Aret and everyone at the restaurant were so wonderful to work with. They were happy to work with my requests and made party planning so easy. The space was the perfect size with ample parking for our guests. We hosted a family feast here, we had music, great food and great enviornment.The food is amazing, the atmosphere is great, the people are wonderful! Sandra is such a nice person, she waited on us at our family feast, she was so loving and caring and really made sure to cater to us and made us feel at home. After becoming extremely sick and hospitalized early this year from visiting Zai’s Dessertery in Bergenfield and forcing myself to eat disgusting, stone hard, and sugar packed desserts, due to not being able to get my money back from the cashier, Athens Bakery has been a great find for sure. The octopus was charred to perfection. No chewy pieces. Then we shared the grilled snapper, it came with string beans, red onions and tomato. Everything was perfectly cooked! “Honestly, you do leave the restaurant with a new family. My family would fist fight each other but Nisiotis will cure it all. The food is amazing, tops every other Greek food. “I love the fact that they're open for breakfast and lunch for the days I need to get a late breakfast or early lunch and lunch places aren't open until after 11. I always get their traditional gyro, but I recently tried their butternut squash soup and loved it. I'm definitely going to have to get more of it the next time I go just to take home. Not much of an "atmosphere" but to be fair a lot of places with a lot of take out don't have much atmosphere, but the staff are nice and have character.“

“Greek village before covid was awesome huge portions fairly reasonable price. Like everything else higher prices and less food. I got gyro platter it tasted fine it was good but all it was was one pita which is fine and gyro meet that would barely make a descent sandwich a small piece of zucchini big deal and a grilled onion ring and a regular order of fries 27$ including tip. It was good but now I'm going for pizza. If you don't mind the smaller portions are the high prices it's fine. Food was good wish they made the portions like they used to“

Had the chilean sea bass & i was blown away - i often get the bronzino but wanted to switch it up & i was not disappointed in the least. “This is my favorite place to eat I probably go four times a week. The staff is amazing and so friendly every time without fail. The food is so good i could eat it every day and never get sick of it. So fresh and delicious.Dietary restrictions: I have celiac, which means I have to eat gluten free for medical reasons, and they accommodate me every time. They change their gloves for me and get me all food from the back to make sure there’s no cross contamination. The staff is so patient with me. They know who I am because of how often I go and they immediately take their gloves off to change them the minute i walk in the door. If you’re a celiac don’t be afraid to eat here!“

We were so thankful that they were open on Christmas as not many businesses are. The inside of the restaurant feels like you're being transported to Greece. “Very good food, and great cocktails. Went there around lunchtime and happened to be during their happy hour, so there were very good specials on food and drinks. We got mussels, octopus, abd a couple of other things, and they were all tasty. They also featured $1 raw oysters. Mostly good, but I did leave one or two on the tray because they looked iffy. Still, I definitely will go back to this place! And I'll add that I was impressed with their cocktails. They were pleasantly potent, and well crafted!“
