“I would say this is the best Hibachi I have ever had! All are cooked from the top notch fresh ingredients. The sea bass is juicy, the steak is just right, the fried rice and noodles have a pleasant garlic favor which I never had it before at other restaurants , homemade teriyaki sauce adds just right sweetness. We really enjoyed every portion of our plate! Highly recommended.“

“I am a sushi snob and I will put Aoyu Sushi up against most sushi places in Manhattan. The quality of the fish is way better than similarly priced restaurants. Their Supreme Omakase costs $40 and it would cost $80 to get similar high quality fish like that anywhere in the city. My favorite sushi restaurant, it gets crowded at 5pm for dinner within 15 minutes of opening.“

“What a gem! My family recently decided to try to find another local sushi place instead of our regular spot and we are so happy we did. Just walking in was so warm and welcoming. This place is a real jewel box, decorated and styled so as you actually feel you are in Japan. Sandy, our host and server, was so nice and attentive. Chef Sung prepared some of the best sushi we have had in ages. The fish was exceptionally fresh and expertly prepared. We were really hankering for sushi that night so the only cooked things we ordered were shumai and eel but we are already looking forward to going back and trying more things.
I don't often know what to make of other reviewers takes as I do not know their palates. But I can tell you that we have had sushi everywhere from North Jersey/NYC, to SF, to Japan and IMHO this place was truly fantastic. The price was also right on point, not so cheap that you question the quality but not so expensive that it is out of reach. This is definitely our new spot!

The people that own and run, this restaurant could not be more accommodating, helpful, and generous. Your experience had absolutely nothing to do with the outstanding quality of their food and service. If you have enough time to write that completely unrelated review and post it. Then you should find the time to consult with a physician and address your own personal bathroom issues. Tempura wasn’t comparable quality to other places in and around NyC at a similar price point. I ordered Spicy Salmon Rolls and they were, for the first time, actually spicy. Everything tasted fresh and portion sizes were above average. “I went here with my bf for my bday and as a Filipina foodie I can confidently say that the food was pretty damn delicious. The fish tastes fresh and the avocado was buttery. The rolls did not have too much rice on it, so they didn’t skimp out on the fish. The tuna pizza was amazing. The ambiance was beautiful and calming as well. “This place is our go-to sushi spot since 2019. We’ve tried almost every place in Fair Lawn/Ridgewood/Glen Rock but we anyways return here.Food has never disappointed - consistent and tasty. I thought the skewers weren’t grilled enough because I was hoping to get more crispy bits and charred flavor. Everything also tasted a bit under-salted, in my opinion. The Asahi on draft was lighter than I expected, though I can’t say if it was abnormally light because I don’t usually get it. (Another review said it tasted watery so I wanted to comment on that as well.) I would opt for a bottled beer next time, of which they have a nice selection. Overall, not a bad experience, but also not nearly an equal substitute for yakitori in the city.“
