“Sushi & Kimchi has become my new favorite comfy, cozy, and cute hideaway in Rockland for when I want the best tasting and authentic Korean and Japanese cuisine. Gina (owner) and Julie (waitress) are both absolutely lovely! Both Gina and the restaurant remind me of what I recall to have been the first Korean/Japanese sushi house in Bardonia, NY that I grew up up dining at in the early 2000’s and up until I moved out of state in 2008. Unfortunately, that location is no longer in business, but Sushi & Kimchi definitely gives all the nostalgic feels! The foos is always fresh and absolutely delicious, the portions are generous, the service is always on point, and you’re welcomed each time with a warm welcome from everyone! It’s a little hidden gem in a parking lot off of Route 59 in Nyack that winds down in the late afternoon and is calm in the evening. The perfect place to go for an overall relaxing experience that will have you leaving full after having enjoyed every last bite! I’ve also ordered through DoorDash and the presentation, temperature, taste and overall quality were all solid as well. Thoroughly impressed!

“my sister in law brought us to Gen Sushi and Hibachi. The food was amazing from the edamame appetizer to the miso soup to the fresh sushi and the teriyaki chicken. The four of us were all duly impressed with the food and the service!! Dinner started with warm hand towels provided by our kind and efficient server. Our food was not only served in a timely manner but the presentation was extremely impressive.
As we were finishing we noticed the chef preparing a sushi feast. The boat of sushi designed for a group of regular customers was incredible. One woman told us she drove 45 minutes just to have the fresh sushi. That is a high compliment!!
If you aren’t a fan of sushi the menu offers many other options. We will definitely visit again when we are in town.“

“We had dinner at Matsu on Friday......its a little gem in Hillsdale. We were pleasantly surprised, by the quality and quantity of the food. The Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. They very friendly and warm. It was a most enjoyable dinner. We have ordered food to takeout but hadn't been inside the restaurant since the pandemic.... We will definitely go again soon. It was a great experience and we both recommend you give it a try!“

Pros: The food again is delicious, good quality. The place is easy to find, it's got parking in front (at least when I came). The staff were nice, friendly and I'm sure they probably know the frequent patrons by name. The food is ready when you call in at the time they state.

Cons: The price was slightly expensive, I'd like to come more frequently but not at those prices. So not a real complaint.“

Not much taste on noodles and veggies (cabbage/broccoli) but they were not over cooked. 👍 I definitely prefered that it was not overly salted rather than overkill on the salt. Very fast service.“

Waiter Han and Chef Lou worked so seamlessly together—it honestly elevated the entire evening. I even dare say it is the best sushi in the Bronx. They are located less than 1/3 of a mile from the Bronx border and they deliver to the surrounding neighborhood in the Bronx. The guy who took our order is very amicable. The sushi chef prepares the rolls right in front of you. It was a great experience.“

“We were first time been osaka sushi last night , it was very cold outside , but restaurant was very warm , the waitress was very nice and friendly , we didn’t know how it was work about ayce, waitress was very patient to tell me how it is works, we had 3 round sushi and kitchen, everything was great and delicious , we recommend more and more people come to try this sushi spot. “I've been going here for years & the food is great & fairly priced. They have a great maki lunch meal with soup/salad & 3 rollls for a decent price. Their bento box is great! You gey to choose 2 meats plus a roll, shumai, rice & tempura veggies and soup & salad. Very good. Even better they a stamp card & you get stamps for every $25 you spend. Once card had has 10 stamps you get a $25 gift card to apply to your next visit. Honestly, lovely staff & calm environment. So glad its a neighborhood staple.“

“This is the place if you want authentic, high quality, Japanese food. The small dishes on the separate menu are really delightful.

Prices reflect food quality. Be prepared to pay for the best all around Japanese food in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

They run it like fine dining, not like a casual sushi bar. So they have strict rules around noise, noisy kids, and cell phones. Don't expect to bring your kid and set him up with an ipad with the volume on. Seems reasonable. No outside food, no exceptions. Seems reasonable.

The servers were polite, no issues in this department.

“Positive vibes and a great experience. I’ve visited this place several times in person, and I’ve also done takeout a couple of times. The most recent time was takeout. I needed to feed a small group and asked about platter offerings, but was told they don’t have any set menus. They asked what I was looking for and made some recommendations to fit my needs and requested budget.

To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. They delivered and then some. It was a combination of various sushi, regular rolls, and specialty rolls.

They also asked about any potential allergies in the group, along with any specific preferences or dislikes.

The food was fantastic in taste and presentation. It was well packed and came with plenty of ginger, wasabi, and miso soup. They also gave me delicious tea while I waited for them to complete my order.
