“It was tough to rate this restaurant fairly. 1 reviewer said authentic Chinese, best he had un 50 years. NO, then he has not had authentic chinese. It is Americanized Chinese food, and I have been to China. Now for Amer. Chinese food, the scallion pancakes were bad, doughy not crunchy at all, a 1 star. The basil beef was pretty decent, with enough basil and flavors, although my medium spice was more mild, but that is very subjective at each restaurant. The important thing is that the base dish was flavorful, a 3.5 to 4 star. HnS soup was a 3 star. Pretty std for American Chinese HnS soup. Important question: Would I go back? If it was more local, yes, I would probably have this as my std place. But with a 20-minute drive, I can go elsewhere.“

“Restaurant is great for larger groups celebrating a special event. Food is ample and tasty. Its more than just Chinese.. mixed in is fish dishes and American fare as well. For salad eaters plenty of that up front. Dessert consists of pies, cakes, cookies, fruits, jello and ice cream.“

“We used them to cater a party for us this past weekend. Food came right when it was schdualed for delivery. All came hot and fresh. Could not have been happier with hoe it turned out. Will use again. Owner was very easy work with and made the process easy.“

“I have lived in town for about 6 years. We found this restaurant online and gave it a try. We ordered the pineapple and chicken fried rice, a dish called Phoenix, and the General Tso's Shrimp. “My family and I come here all the time for large family gatherings. The food is absolutely phenomenal here, especially the pecking duck buns and sweet and sour pork. We also love the soy sea bass, crispy chicken, ginger scallion lobster, pork chops and corn egg drop soup. One time we brought them king crab legs to cook and they cooked all of our king crab legs to perfection!! I don’t usually write google reviews but this place is so special to me and my family and adore this spot. The service is so fast and attentive and they are kind enough to provide free dessert whether that be fresh oranges, fresh fruit or even sometimes sweet red bean soup! Please consider coming here and supporting them! They’re so deserving, hardworking and kind!!“

“New Ho King kitchen Chinese food to take out or deliver is absolutely delicious.
Whether you're picking up or having it deliver, the food is always piping hot. Their Szechuan Beef is perfectly flavorful, with the right amount of spice. The vegetable Lo Mein is incredibly fresh and not greasy. The portions are generous, and the pricing is reasonable for the quality.
The staff is always super friendly and efficient. This is definitely our favorite for Chinese takeout!

“I was there earlier today with a group of friends for the Christmas special Bengali Food Festival. We were quite impressed by the menu selection. The food was not oily& spicy at all,hence even the kids enjoyed the food. The service was good. I wish the restaurant would be more spacious. Other than that I would highly recommend this place.“

“Very good take-out Chinese food option for the area. Food is hot and cooked well, with a variety that is typical of Chinese take-out. We enjoyed their fried rice, orange chicken, and steamed chicken with broccoli. The fried dumplings were on the oily side, so we’ll probably get them steamed for our next order. Prices have remained reasonable over the years.“

“Came here for lunch, they have a lunch special Monday-Saturday 11am-3pm. I had the general Tso chicken. Overall my food was good. It was spicy, fresh, and flavorful. The restaurant is clean and tidy, although, they should make it look prettier with some Chinese decor. Food was served fast. No complaints or issues. I would recommend this restaurant.“

“Always nice on phone and in person.Delivery is excellent. I tell them no hurry as I am not in a rush, and don't want to stress them since they work so hard, but food is always on time. Portions are generous and delicious. They cater to my vegetarian meal requests by replacing meats with bean curd,etc.“

“The food at this Chinese restaurant is super good. I recently moved to Fairfield and needed to find a good spot for Chinese takeout out. So, I tried joy wok. I ordered sesame chicken combo and the Mongolian beef. They were both super good. I don’t normally like my sesame chicken a little spicy and they made it just right for me.
The customer service is also great. I had accidentally ordered white rice with the Mongolian beef and when I picked up my order they switched it to fried rice right away with no extra charge. Everyone there is super nice. Definitely recommend if you are in the area in search of a good Chinese spot.“

“One of our favorite sushi spots in NJ!! They use environmentally sustainable packaging and almost always give us something “on the house” usually either some crab Rangoon, or a few extra pieces of different kinds of sushi to try.
They recently took their sweet and sour chicken off the menu which was a bummer since it was sooo good and crispy, but it got my picky eater to branch out and try sushi and he ended up loving it! Hands down the most bang for your buck sushi spot in the area. I would order takeout from here every night if I could! Can’t rave about Epoch enough!“

“The food here was incredibly flavorful and prepared very quickly – we were the only four guests around 3 PM. We truly enjoyed the taste and speed of service.

However, I was displeased to see that we were charged for six portions of rice when we ordered four dishes totaling $90. I believe that one rice portion should have been included per dish, making a charge for two extra portions fair. Given that our four dishes combined for $90, it felt a bit like a hidden $1.50 per dish to pay for rice that really should have been complementary.

While the food itself was excellent, the unexpected rice charges definitely impacted my overall impression.“

“Looking for a change in ordering Chinese food and was very happy with this restaurant. Their hot and sour soup was so flavorful. Just the right amount of hot and seasoned perfectly. The chicken chow mein was delicious with lots of chicken and a wonderful sauce. The pork fried rice also was nicely prepared with excellent flavors. Even their egg rolls were nice and crispy without being greasy. Will be adding the China Pavilion to our list of takeout locations.“

“Was looking for a good authentic Chinese food in this part of Jersey, and this place clearly delivered. Incredible minced beef soup to start. Then had the fried rice, braised duck with mixed vegetables, and pan-fried flounder. Delicious. The service was good and attentive, though quite pricey, especially the duck ( $38), and there wasn't much meat, just more vegetables. But the flounder was worth it, $32.95.“

I had found one takeout place in Mendham that has done really well for years and when I work in that area I order it. On a whim I asked them how theirs was and said I would let her know. An incredible loss to Pompton Lakes and the many customers who called Golden Garden their regular place. I did for well over 10 years. Please keep the two wonderful ladies, if you are a regular you know who I mean, in your thoughts as they and their families chart a course forward and eventually come back from this devastating loss. “Food is delicious, fresh and hot every time. The food is definitely made in clean pans and oil and the taste reflects that. Not overly salty. We’ve ordered Lo mein, steamed dumplings, chicken with garlic sauce, general tsos chicken, chicken with broccoli and pork fried rice. Five star review every time, this is our third time ordering and the new Chinese place for us in the indefinite future. Fast delivery usually. “I had the best ever hot and sour soup from here! I’ve had this soup from many different Chinese restaurants before and this restaurant has the best I’ve eaten so far. I called for delivery 1/2hr before closing. They were very kind on the phone and at delivery, even though it was at closing. The food arrived hot and VERY DELICIOUS!! The only downfalls were that the General Tso's were a bit soggy but that was from the steam in the container. I understand that. The other downfall was that I wish I ordered more!! The General Tso's, egg rolls, pork fried rice ( it had plenty of veggies for fried rice) and cheese wonton were all very tasty. THANK YOU for the great food and service!! “So to be honest the food is so GOOOD LIKE AMAZING because the egg roll is so delicious and the fired chicken it so gooodd i would recommend the egg roll and fired chicken but the only that made me confused was the floor the floor was a mess and the wall is super dirty. And also is flys too and they prices are kinda high but overall they food is so amazing so I give it a 3.9 I just wouldn’t recommend dining in but overall they food is so amazing and delicious but the table was dirty so we had to clean it up but the food is good hot n fresh“
