“The food is awesome. The place is kept very very clean. The employees are so nice but please it is so hot in there the working condition is horrible. It is so hot. The air conditioners are not working. I even got on top of a chair to feel the air from the air conditioner. There is nothing hot air is coming out of there. These people look like they’re soaking in their own clothing because it’s so hot and that’s a shame because they’re very dedicated in good people. They should not have to work in those conditions.“

“They were short-staffed as someone called out. I so wanted egg salad & so did another customer or two, but couldn't get. My thought would have been to boil a couple eggs & make it. I would have rather waited & gotten what I wanted. Word of mouth tho was that the salads come from there central location. Had egg sandwich instead. Drinks are mostly self serve.“

“It was my first time there but certainly will not be my last. The cashiers knew we weren't from there but super super nice. I had THE BEST quiche I have EVER had. I joked that they sprinkled crack or something on it because I wanted to buy the WHOLE pie . It was beyond fluffy and delicious. It was mushroom, caramelized onion and cheese. I also has a side of bacon and home fries plus a hazelnut latte. It was less than $30 and beyond filling. I took 1/2 home because it was so much food. I didn't think to take a pic before I started eating, so no, that's not the whole quiche lol. “I finally checked out PopUp Bagels, and the hype is totally justified. You absolutely have to get here early—like, when they’re still pulling those hot, fresh bagels out of the oven and tossing them into the bin! Nothing beats that feeling (or smell!) to kick off a New York morning.

I grabbed the three-pack with scallion cream cheese. All the bagels were great, but the Salt Bagel was the runaway winner for me. That perfect salty crunch outside with the hot, chewy inside…Unbelievably delicious !

I found the bagels to be soft enough for my kid which was a big deal for him.

Ordered two iced macchiatos without the sugar which was really good

“I loooooove B Bagel! The brothers who own it are so nice and I'm really happy to support their business. My husband and I usually go on Sunday and there is something about waiting in the line that's oddly enjoyable... not to mention the food is totally worth the wait! I have been getting the Levant on a Sesame or Everything Bagel and it hits the spot for me. My husband always gets the Big B without cheese and has decided it's his favorite meal in Jersey City and favorite breakfast of all time. The bagels and bagel sandwiches are all awesome, the inside of the shop is busy and friendly, couldn't recommend it more!

“There are tons of bagel places in NJ, but we always find ourselves comparing to House of Bagels. Definitely our favorite bagels - they’re so soft and fluffy on the inside, great crust with plenty of seasoning (our whole family loves everything bagel). What really seals the deal for us is that the bagels freeze and reheat beautifully. They taste almost as good as new. “Absolutely the best bagel there is. Each one no matter the flavor is a delight. And their food that they put on the bagel is delicious. Get there before 3;30 PM if you want sliced cheese because they close the slicer at 3;30. I know if I get there at 3;32 PM the slicer is off. So I get tuna fish instead and it’s about as good as it gets. The staff is friendly and do a good job. What a place!“

“Found my new bagel store. Used to go to Modern but the place went so far downhill (they use a Panini Press to toast a bagel, yuk), then I saw River Rd Bagels. Wow, what a world of difference. Better prices, much better food and a great team! Definitely my new bagel store! Thank you!!!!!!!“

“Classic neighborhood staple. Been having the ham and egg since I was a kid. The two man team behind the counter can make you a sandwich in about 2-3 mins so if you’re running late for the F train you can still get a solid (and cheap) breakfast. The ice coffee is pretty good for deli coffee as well (ask for 1/2 sugar with vanilla!)“

“Apollo’s Lox Bagels are incredibly delicious and definitely among the best bagels in NYC. The hype is truly justified.

The bagel rolls are delicately toasted, and the salmon and cream cheese combination is perfect. A real treat!

Luckily, the shop in the East Village isn't as crowded as the location north of Washington Square Park. We didn't even have to wait 10 minutes on a Friday at 3 p.m., which is practically a world record in NYC. The team is quick and appropriately friendly.

Since there's hardly any seating, it's best to take your bagels to go and eat them in the chilled Tomkins Square Park.
