“Our first time going to the Totowa location (met up with friends for lunch). Staff was very friendly and helpful - we decided to eat outside and they brought the food to us quickly. We had the tacos, regular bowl with carnitas and fajita bowl with steak and pina-mango drink. Food was very tasty and freshly made. Will come back to try El Pastor. I ordered two marry me cocktails and the second was better and stronger than the first. For starters, we had the tostones and guacamole topped with shrimp and churrasco. For entree my husband had the mofongo de churrasco and I had the garlic mashed potatoes with churrasco and lobster. Food was 10/10! Our server was attentive and informative regarding the dishes. “With the TV on and the Mexican music playing, it was sensory overload for me! The waitress did turn off the tv when asked. She was very sweet.

They do not serve complementary chips and salsa like other places do. Waitress was very polite but knew very little English, which made my family nervous as we have food allergies and are vegetarians. However, the order was fine and the food seemed to be of good quality. I thought that $55 was a little pricey for a family of four, but I’m sure that some people could have gone cheaper.“

Parking: Street parking only. There is a large parking lot on 14 chestnut that is free after 5, it’s only a block away.“

“We've been going to Blue Moon for at least 10 years. We always sit in the bar area for the atmosphere. It's gets very crowded, but everyone is friendly. The best part about this bar/restaurant is how good & attentive the staff is. It seems like they're are never understaffed. No matter how crowded it is, someone drops off chips & salsa to your table and takes your drink order immediately. There's no waiting for someone to take your drink order while you look at the menu like most restaurants in jersey these days. Even the manager comes around to see if you want more chips & asks how everything is. Whoever is training the waitstaff & bartenders at Blue Moon would make a killing training staff and managers of other bars/restaurants. As far as people saying the food is salty, we've never experienced that. The drinks are strong & tasty and staff super friendly. There's tons of parking, it's kid friendly in the dining room. It's ground level, which makes it accessible to everyone.“

“Small, no frills, Mexican mom and pop place with baked goods (conchas , pan dulce) and home cooking and Mexican street food (tacos, huaraches, burritos, tortas, sopes etc etc) ... I had the huaraches al pastor ($13) and a jarrito. They were very good, and proper ..the portions were big. I was expecting 1 big huarache but I got 3 small ones, which is good because they were so filling I ate 2 and brought the 3rd home. I would go here again. I want to try the tacos which all the other tables were eating on their lunch hour.“

“My wife and myself were at Latin American Restaurant in Boonton, NJ. We are from out of town looking for home cooking, let me tell you, this was the most delicious food we've had since we've been here. The restaurant is clean and the owner stayed and talked to us for a long while. I had the steak smothered with onions, salad, white rice, black beans and maduros(sweet plantains). You get large portions, my wife took her left overs to the hotel for later. My wife is a very picky eater and she loved everything that was served.
