“As someone who grew up in and loves Metuchen deeply, I can officially add Terzo to one of the most memorable places of one of my favorite towns. Came here to have dinner and introduce my parents to my boyfriend’s parents, a very special occasion for us. At no point did we feel rushed throughout our experience which I appreciate a lot since we were there from 6-9pm on a Wednesday night.
The atmosphere is beautiful and perfect for any special occasion or date night. Everyone was raving about the food the entire time!
For appetizers we got the peach burrata salad, wagyu meatballs (our favorite!), and the calamari (second favorite!!). For dinner we loved the cacio de pepe and chicken parm. The crab risotto was a top contender too. Oh my, the portions are so big so be ready to take some home! For dessert we had the apple pie cannolis and coffee. Sangria was yummy but in a smaller pitcher than we normally see, so get two if you have a bigger group! I wish I took some pictures of our food but we were having too good of a time to actually think about it!

“My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. I’ve been living in the area for about 15 years now and just randomly tried this place one day, and let me just say it not only exceeded my expectations but blew them out of the park. “Recently new owners have taken over, and so far so good! We have been going to this liquor store and the bar for a few years now. The bar is a hidden gem! It has a great selection of craft beer, wine, and cocktails. The food is incredible with big portions and reasonably priced. Service is always good! Recently Sara was our bartender and she was great! Hopefully the new owners won’t make too many changes to the bar and food, because they definitely have a good thing going here!“

“Food was decent and we had great table service from the bartender that was there when we were in for lunch between 11:30 and 1 PM on a Tuesday . The negative is the 4% credit card surcharge. Firstly, I don’t like that surcharge and secondly, I have not seen establishments charge 4% so that seemed excessive.“

The Grilled Pork Flatiron was another standout, served with haricot verts, bacon lardon, watermelon radish, and apricot mostarda that added the perfect combination of savory and sweet. The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. If you're looking for a great meal in the Millburn area—especially if you need gluten-free options—MoonShine is absolutely worth a visit.
