Orders are never wrong inside, but something is almost ALWAYS wrong in the drive-thru, especially in the morning. Whether that's getting the size wrong, amount of sugar/cream wrong. Something. Every day. It's kinda annoying.“

“This is my favorite Starbucks . I go to work extra early by bus to go here. My coffee tastes better from here. The staff, you wouldn't find staff anywhere else not just any other Starbuck anywhere. “Stumbled upon Cempoal de la Calavera Negra last Saturday morning and honestly it's become my new favourite weekend spot in Halifax. The cortado I ordered was perfectly balanced, not too bitter, and came in this really nice ceramic cup that made the whole thing feel a bit special. The vibe inside is cozy without being cramped, great for sitting with your laptop or just watching the neighbourhood wake up through the front windows. Definitely coming back next weekend - already thinking about trying whatever pastry they had sitting on the counter that I regrettably skipped.“

I stop by here daily to start my day with a drip dark roast (they have regular too) and its so damn good. They have an espresso machine, teas and make italian sodas.

The baked goods are also amazing and are not those ‘run of the mill carbs’ but bite into and taste the love & butter deliciousness. The oatcakes are ridiculously tasty and the chai cookies are like artwork; they also have wraps, snack protein balls (so good), macrons and yoghurt parfaits.

There is also a coffee card so after a 8-10 (?) coffees you get a free cup.

Area is quiet and across the cafe there are pods just in case you need to drink your coffee in peace.“

Paired with their legendary vanilla latte (which I’ve now mentally ranked above some family members in importance), and it’s heaven.

Also, the staff? 10/10. Friendly, fast, and never judge me for showing up looking like I lost a fight with my textbooks. I always leave smiling, caffeinated, and full of hope — or at least with enough energy to face the next class.

In short: great food, amazing drinks, wonderful people, and the exact vibe I need to feel human again. This place isn’t just a coffee stop — it’s a lifestyle. A safe zone. A daily hug in cup form. I’ll be back tomorrow. And the next day. Forever.“

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the creamy oat milk lattes and colourful lemonades and we found ourselves retuning to the Cafe every day of our vacation. We had the opportunity to meet Lara, the owner, and it was immediately clear why this Cafe is so tastefully decorated, why the atmosphere is so enjoyable and the menu so very delectable.
