“We had gone out with friends for a lunch and tried all the different menu items. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every meal, be it the beef pockets, noodles, dumplings but the best one was the fried rice. The flavours are authentic, meal portions are great and the ambience is amazing and the best part is it’s all halal. If you are in downtown, I highly recommend trying this restaurant!“

“We had a great experience at Tasty kitchen which is a cantonese Chinese eatery. Simon is the owner and it was a pleasure speaking with him to understand how he started the eatery. The food is delicious and is priced very reasonably as it caters to students and locals nearby. I am glad we found the place and it is no wonder the reviews are excellent.

We ate there on two consecutive evenings. On the second night we bought some fresh seafood (scallops and fish) and Simon has offered to cook them for us. Now how often do you get these type of personalized service?

I highly recommend this place if you are in the Halifax area. I will definitely return the next time I’m in Halifax.

“I have loved this place ever since I first got food here. Every time I’m in Halifax to visit family I come here. They greet me with a smile and even know my name! I order the same thing everytime. Sweet and sour chicken balls. Very consistent in flavor and texture even over the years very little has changed. The buffet is closed, which is sad, but I understand why and will not let that affect my review. The servers are quick and accurate. The food always leaves me satisfied. The atmosphere is one of a kind. I wish New Wing Wah was in the town I live.“

“Been going to Canton Garden for over a decade with my family and friends, and have introduced many others to this absolute gem. The best Chinese food in Halifax, by far! I have not had one bad experience in what must be close to 100 visits over the many years. Incredibly friendly staff, phenomenal food, and a perfectly relaxed atmosphere.

Strongly recommend the ginger beef, general tao's chicken, beef and broccoli, and the wanton soup and spring rolls!“

“This was actually my first time having Ramen that didn't come out of a package from the supermarket and it was amazing. The pork was so tender and a little sweet. The broth was incredible. We had the crispy chicken to start and I loved the pickled daikon so much they let me buy a container of it. Our waitress (I am sure I'm not spelling her name right but I think it was Shengshen) was so kind, cheerful and pleasant. I cannot wait to go back.“

“I recently came back from travelling and was really missing Chinese food. I stumbled upon this spot and was pleasantly surprised! The lady at the counter was incredibly nice and friendly — she gave us amazing service. Honestly, I never expected that level of hospitality in a food court. It really surprised me in the best way!“

“Horrible customer service, probably the worst I have ever encountered to be honest. If you enjoy being belittled, being called a liar, and spending 3 hours on a takeout fiasco LOOK no further this is the place for you. Make sure you repeat what you are ordering SEVERAL times. Make sure they repeat it back to you SEVERAL times. If you order something and receive something you did not order, you may get them to agree to bring you what you did order, HOWEVER, you will be called a liar. You will be asked prove they are at fault for the mistake or they will hold your replacement food hostage in your parking lot. You may have to snatch the food you paid for out of the driver's hands. I am not joking. I am speaking from personal experience.“

“Pay NO ATTENTION TO BAD REVIEWS We live in Claton Park and found the ChineseVietnamese food the best we have ordered since moving here from Ontario a few years back. It was a little expensive but more than made up for that in quality. We had the order delivered in a bad rainstorm and a little girl showed up the credit card machine in hand looking like the wind would blow her away My wife and I are pretty old, and we were both impressed with the food We have ordered from quite a few places but Fon Sing is definitely the best“
