“Just overall, good, classic Mexican food. The pupusas are my favorite in town and the prices are wonderfully reasonable. I find myself here about twice a month and the ladies working there are super nice and have never led me astray with their suggestions.“

“Angel, the bartender, was absolutely incredible! Despite the overwhelming crowd during Hot August Nights, she remained attentive, kind, and sincerely apologetic to every guest. It was clear the café was understaffed for the influx of customers, yet Angel handled the pressure with grace and a smile. She stayed calm and organized in the chaos, never placing blame on her team or management.

At one point, a customer became upset, and Angel addressed the situation with a level of professionalism and empathy that’s rare to see in such a fast-paced role. She’s a true asset to your team—please thank her again on our behalf. She deserves recognition, a raise, and a promotion!

Also, a big shoutout to Kim, the busser, who was clearly juggling a lot but still made the effort to help out wherever she could. As a business leader myself, I recognize strong team members when I see them—and they’re a reflection of great leadership. Kudos to your whole team! Please consider allocating more budget for extra staff during busy events like this.

“Came in with some friends and practically ordered the entire menu. Great munchies, long cheese pulls, and tasty flavors. We personally loved that they had honey butter flavoring- particularly with their honey butter fries. Fan favorite was also the corn cheese bites! Kinda tasted like a mochi and was surprisingly sweet.

They are wheelchair friendly, place was a bit small but most hole in the wall restaurants who know their craft are. Please go and eat there if you’re craving crunchy!“

“My family, wife and two daughters have been coming here for about 10 years. We come from California and would stop over on our camping trips to Yellowstone, Wyoming and Montana. Carlillos soon became a regular stop for any business in the eastern sierras. I grew up in San Diego and this is the best Mexican food I’ve had. Not because it’s complex or a fancy restaurant, it just makes you feel at home regardless of where you live or where you came from. Great family, atmosphere and food. I usually get Huevos Rancheros and the family tries something different every time and it’s always good. Girls are in college now but they always ask when are we going back.“

“My dinner is so amazing I had the Truffle and macaroni and cheese with mushroom amazing I had I'm eating the baked chicken right now off the wall experience so far the service the clientele the atmosphere is unexpectedly amazing and I got to say this is the reason why I keep coming back food is amazing the people are top-notch they are very professional everybody from water the bread girl and the bussers asking if I need my table wiped off and if I needed another towel another fork or spoon or taking away my side dish I could never ask for anything more especially on my birthday today they made my birthday just outstanding. “Great restaurant for a couple night out! But if you show up before the restaurant opens at 5 PM you will have to wait in hall foyer. Their happy hour is 4 to 6 PM and there is no seating at the bar. My only complaint about the food was the cooked vegetables served with my main meal were not hot.“

The best, of course is the Cheeseburger taco - which I know sounds odd, but until you try it, you have no idea what you're missing. “First time at Speedy Burritos yesterday.. came in for just fountain drinks, but the place smelled so good we ended up coming back in for lunch! “Walked in on a Saturday morning a few minutes after they opened. Very friendly employee at the front told us she would be right with us as she prepared the previous customer's bagel and cream cheese. I'm not sure why they don't have 2 employees up front to handle orders because this lovely gal was stretched handling people's questions, taking orders, and making coffees. Because of this, it took 15 minutes to get our coffees. I watched my breakfast sandwich sit on a rack in the kitchen for the same amount of time. The scrambled eggs were brown, it was cold and extremely greasy but it tasted alright. The table we sat at was dirty enough that each time we picked up our coffee cups, we had to unstick them from the surface of the table.
Scheduling one more employee for the opening shift would've solved a lot of these issues.“
