Every time I’ve been here, the vibe has been unique. At night, it feels exciting, and carries an element of alternative nightlife. During the day, it’s analog, cozy, like your own back yard, and during community events, it’s a place for folks from every background to come together and appreciate a new form of art they may not have been exposed to before. The Lori Jayne steak frites is so tasty and it’s the main draw for this spot - the drinks weee pretty average, not hugely expensive but also not super memorable. The Daquiri in particular felt very thrown together. That said, you have a few options for anyone interested in coming in, and the food really is that good! I’d happily come by and grab a tecate and some steak frites!“

“I can’t believe I’ve never written about the Bar Room at Dick and Jane’s because it’s honestly one of my favorite spots in Bed-Stuy. I go there pretty frequently and the bartenders and staff are always great. The cocktails are solid and they actually know how to make a proper drink, which I appreciate.

They usually have a DJ, so the music and the vibe are always good without feeling over the top. What I really like about this place is the crowd. It reminds me of the energy people talk about at HBCUs. I didn’t attend one, but whenever I’ve visited friends it felt like people from across the Black diaspora, every profession, every walk of life, just cool, chill, and there to have a good time.

As the night goes on the place really comes alive. And if you’re single, I’m just saying, it’s not a bad place to meet someone either.“

Trivia however was painstakingly slow and I could barely hear the host who was not even reading the questions clearly but like rambling about any context she could think of. Every question was insanely niche. Been to tons of trivia nights in nyc and this one was easily the most bizarre. Leaving 5 stars since I don’t want to fault the bar but definitely not coming back on a Tuesday night.“

They were communicative, organized, and somehow pulled everything together seamlessly on a tight timeline. Their responsiveness gave me so much confidence leading up to the party, and they absolutely delivered.

“We headed to Lou’s after dinner at Rolo’s—it’s about a 20-minute walk, which wasn’t bad at all. A friend recommended it since she comes here often and knows the bartender.

Lou’s is very much a neighborhood bar, and it gets packed. The atmosphere is lively, and the staff handles the crowds like pros, fast, attentive, and efficient no matter how busy it gets. You can tell this isn’t their first rodeo.

Drinks are cheap (always a plus), but pro tip: it’s cash only. Luckily, they’ve got an ATM inside with just a small service fee.

Extra shoutout to their regular, Delaney, who jumped in to challenge the twins to a game of billiards super fun to watch! Just note there’s only one pool table, so expect a wait. In the meantime, there’s a dart board to keep things moving, and the blasting music keeps the energy high!

Overall, a lively, no-frills bar with great vibes, perfect if you’re looking for an old-school neighborhood hangout.“

The decor, professionalism of the owners and staff and the courtesy demonstrated toward our family was the absolute best!! The food was soooooo tasty and plentiful, as were the soft drinks. The set up was beautiful and able to effectively socially distance for our small group. The staff and owners donned PPE for the duration of our event and the establishment was equipped with an abundance of sanitizer, thermometer to temperature check guests and additional masks. The cook always puts out delicious finger foods which are perfect for snacking while drinking. I especially love when they do karaoke nights and bring in live bands, it’s always a fun time. And when DJ Sound Nice plays there, he always has the place rocking with all types of music.
