“I wouldn’t call Katana a dive bar, but on a Tuesday night it felt like a great neighborhood bar. Relaxed atmosphere. Was surprised at how small it was but that added to the chill vibe. I bet on a Thirsty Thursday and the weekend that all changes, but the bartenders and the craft cocktails will be just as great.“

“Had such a lovely meal. The ambience is great, very inviting and not overly loud. Favourite dish was the yellowtail crudo, but the corn ribs is a close second. Every thing a corn girl needs. You can’t come and not get the ube tiramisu. Our waiter Boz was exceptional. My friend brought me after she had a great experience, and now I’m convinced it’s the best. Will be returning“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“Overall, a decent meal. Your order is handled through a QR code on the table, and they will bring the food to you.
The small bites we ordered were all cold dishes but tasty.
The giant unagi nigiri was sticky and sweet, but a bit tricky to eat due to the size of the roll.
The tobiko rolls were delicious!
The Classic Men was good, but the chashu slices were extremely lean and dry and difficult to chew.
The Gyu Don was well seasoned and tasty, though there were some strong hints of cumin spice in some bites.“
“Everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken over rice was really good; not too heavy but still very fragrant. The drinks were also surprisingly good. Tangwhan was excellent throughout the entire meal, providing excellent service from start to finish.“

“Imasanori Sushi is such a beautiful spot for an elevated sushi experience 🍣✨ Everything from the ambiance to the presentation felt so thoughtfully done. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and every bite felt like a little experience of its own.
Perfect for a special dinner, date night, or anyone who appreciates high-quality Japanese cuisine. Definitely a place I’d recommend adding to your list! 🤍“

“I went there with six people.
It’s located in a trendy part of Brooklyn, and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. The staff who served our table were also very friendly.
As for the food, I was interested in okonomi fried potato and eringi karaage, but they weren’t anything special—just generally tasty. The garlic shrimp was probably the best dish, and the sushi rolls we ordered were also just average. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the desserts.
Since it’s in a trendy area, the prices aren’t exactly inexpensive.
Given the pleasant atmosphere, interior, and friendly staff, I think it’s a good spot for a casual date to enjoy a few drinks.“

“Futago Japanese Restaurant perfect spot for a cozy dinner with a calm, romantic atmosphere and beautiful presentation.
🍹We loved the Berries Mojito and Blue Lagoon cocktails, beautifully garnished with fresh fruit.
🍣 Our favorites were the Chili Mayo Shrimp, Ebi Fry, Deluxe Sushi Spoon, and the Yakitori Platter. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
🍜 We also tried two different ramen bowls—one with duck and one with beef. Both were rich, comforting, and full of flavor, with fresh ingredients and different types of noodles that made each bowl unique.
Definitely a place worth coming back to.🤍“

“Definitely one of the best ramen broths I’ve had, and I try a lot. The broth is clean with crisp flavors. I ordered the Kara (which is the spicy) on the side. I decided to control the spice level on my own, the kick is good, but I didn’t want too much of it.
The grilled pork belly is a good side to add.
The space is packed, and cozy. The staff are friendly and very experienced.“

“Toriya is a cool place to hang out with friends, and the atmosphere is pretty nice. However, it took so long for me and my friends to get our food, even something as simple as kimchi, which doesn’t even need to be cooked. The food was okay overall, but nothing really special or memorable.“

“The vibe alone draws you in from the street. The friendly service gets you to take a seat, and the food makes you want to come back! You don’t have to wait long, and it’s worth every minute! We brought our teenage sons for their first taste of Thai, and they ate every bite! The Mango Sticky Rice was amazing! We’ll be back!“

“Fun drinks, great shareable food, good music -- albeit overly loud for casual conversation :/
And the hightop seats... eesh (v. uncomfortable) :(
Location is key though, and it's chill; would go again (and sit at one of the normal tables)“

“The waiter was very polite and kind.
The food was authentic Japanese cuisine, but the portions were quite small. I should have asked for white rice when the baked fish was served.
I think this restaurant is especially good if you enjoy drinking sake.“

“Drinks are great food pretty bad. Among other things i had that were so much worse than expected (potato salad and addictive cabbage) i was really was enticed by the soft serve and truly with no exaggeration , it was the worst i ever had. Coated your tongue with an awful texture and tasted like chemicals“

“Great food. Very diverse menu. We were shocked that even the french fries and edamame were prepared so flavorfully! Sake was incredible and worth buying the bottle. Presentation of my entree was super fancy. Service was 5 stars. Super attentive and friendly. What a great place to get lunch!“

Many thanks to the chef Ignacia that made this moment an unforgettable culinary experience. Everything was delicately presented, delicious and creative.
On top of that, the music was awesome with a great DJ.

“Great spot if you know what you're going in for.
Location and atmosphere are both working in Momad's favor — the kind of place that just feels right for a weeknight drink. And the Asahi on draft is the real deal. Fresh, cold, well-poured. Honestly one of the better draft pours I've had at an izakaya in the city.
Yakitori is solid. Won't blow your mind but it's done right and hits the spot alongside a beer. The rest of the menu is more middle of the road — nothing bad, just nothing that stands out either.
Staff is genuinely friendly and that goes a long way. Makes the whole experience feel relaxed and easy.
This isn't a destination dinner spot but it's not trying to be. For a casual drink and some skewers with good service and good vibes, Momad delivers. Would come back without hesitation.“

“Within the Industry city area in Brooklyn there is this really great Japanese restaurant that I had the pleasure of eating at, The service was very friendly and accommodating and what I ordered came at a very reasonable wait time, The miso black cod was extremely delicious as well as the Galbi beef meal, I enjoyed it so much I ordered different items from the Yakitori, Kushi Age and other skewers section of their menu, And let me tell you literally everything I selected was very delicious and very well prepared by there chefs, Special compliments to there efforts and service also.
I honestly highly recommend visiting Waku Waku restaurant and you will definitely not be disappointed!!“

“Anyone who lives in the neighborhood knows of Zest Sushi and their HH specials. This is their sister restaurant which is a ramen restaurant. The food is good for a neighborhood restaurant, I’m happy to see that they also offer sushi at this location now (came when they first opened and they didnt have). Decently priced with good portion size. Good for a quick meal especially on a cold night for a nice both of ramen. Id recommend if you’re ever in the area and looking for something soupy but would not recommend commuting 30+ minutes for.“

“Great spot to have dinner with friends. The food is all excellent. Recommended dishes include the chicken thigh with scallion, fried chicken, chicken meatballs and purple sweet potato fries. Service is also very attentive and kind. Would recommend ordering more skewers than you think might be necessary in the first instance to avoid dribbling out skewers in batches of 1-2 thereafter, which isn’t as fun with more than 2 people.
Absolutely worth a visit if you are looking for options in this area.“

“Every once and awhile you stumble on a gem 💎 in your neighborhood and you keep it close to your heart ❤—- and stomach!! Ive lived in Astoria for 11 years and ive had many many visits to HERO THAI & IZAKAYA & i can say with supreme confidence ive NEVER had a bad meal or experience here.. This might seem excessive but ive the background to make such a grand statement.. im a veteran restaurant nyc restaurant professional with 7-nytimes reviewed 3 star chefs ..& this is my place ALWAYS my first choice.. NOT because the food is soooooo delicious— the flavors and textures just bounce off the plate..NOT because they have genuine food lovingly presented and executed,NOT because they have excellent 🧊 icy frosty cold draft beer— SINGHA!!! NOT because the menu runs the gamut of AUTHENTIC THAI AND JAPANESE cuisine, NOT because the fish 🐠 tanks always provide excellent entertainment OR the gentle price point of everything on offer …A terrific HH with SINGHA draft beers 🍻, cocktail specials and lunch and dinner chefs additions..BUT for HERO’s warm gracious service and understanding what HOSPITALITY means— as a solo diner am i im always greeted with not only a smile but a genuine interest in my visit..and that’s a rare experience..MY personal favorites are takoyaki, chive pancake, duckroll, sweet chili jumbo wings— crispy duck salad,Larb beef,Mango and avocado salad,Spicy Shrimp Salad— And entree Pad-Ka-NaMoo Grob( stir fried Chinese broccoli( lan mai) with the crispiest pork belly lardons you will ever have— I ask for it spicy 🌶 but be careful thai chilis ARE HOTTTTT!! And my favorite soup DUCK UDON NOODLE SOUP—,i always have this on a cold rainy day and nothing is better..: Ive decided not to be selfish and share the glory of this sparkling gem— it hits a lot of sweet notes for me — with so many incredible options you have so many lovely choices— I have not had every dish but i do plan on trying— what an adventure!!!
