Our waitress is like a grandma trying to feed us everytime we come in.
A must have anytime you want good clean plate of Mexican or Italian food.“

“My wife and I are from Bay Ridge Brooklyn, with plenty of great Italian restaurants too choose from. We happened to be in LI, had not eaten and stopped to eat before the getting stuck on the Belt Pkwy home.
We are so glad that we did. The food was delicious and the staff were fantastic and welcoming. We had the baked clams and seared tuna, delicious! The beet salad with the quinoa, freshing! The salmon cooked perfectly! The squid ink pasta with seafood (I didn't share) was that good.

We met with Sergio on Wednesday and he completely accommodated all of our wishes for that upcoming Saturday in his beautifully appointed private room. We couldn’t have asked for a better four-course meal and the staff provided service that was top notch and utmost respectful under the circumstances. We enjoyed a memorable celebration of life! “We lucked upon this lovely place when staying in a nearby hotel due to a canceled flight. I highly recommend the burrata appetizer; our other dishes were great too but came from the specials menu so you may not be able to get them consistently. Soft shell crabs, veal osso buco... but I think anything you get there will be fresh and of the highest quality. Good wine list too. If we ever find ourselves in the neighborhood again we will make a point of returning to Franina.“

A mortadella pizza is one of my favorites and I felt like this missed the mark. The branzino was not tasty. It was dry and overcooked. Our cocktails were delicious! Each one had a unique flavor and not something every restaurant could make! Nice ambiance and child friendly.“

Food is always outstanding, timing is impeccable and one never feels rushed. Tight quarters, but it all runs like a well oiled machine. “It is a small white-cloth old school italian restaurant located in what is essentially a strip mall. Atmosphere is cosy. It was half-full when I was there, and the noise levels were fine. Food is standard Italian fare that you would expect to find. They give you free bread with olive oil, along with parmesan cheese, olives, salami, and peppers. I had the veal parmigiana which was great. Crab-stuffed mushroom is a great appetizer as well, probably my favorite dish I had there. Waiters are excellent, friendly and professional, have all been working there for many years.“

This time when we came up to visit for Christmas we knew we had to get there for a great dinner. I can easily say it still is one of the best places to get amazing Italian food around. The Chicken Napoli was phenomenal and there is nothing like their penne à la vodka! The drinks were great and service was top notch. We also happened to go the day after Christmas when we got lots of snow and the car valet even brushed off our car! “I go to Diane’s all the time for coffee and baked goods, at least once a week. I invited new moms and dads from the Roslyn school today for a gathering at Diane’s this morning to support local business. We had about 12 people. Sat outside at the patio where the shaded area was. Everybody all bought coffee and pastries. We arranged the tables and chairs in a long row so we could see each other. Later we were told by Diane, the owner, that she wasn’t happy that we rearranged her tables and sat together in a row. Why? The place wasn’t crowded with other guests. We all bought and paid for goods. I couldn’t help but thinking that because we were all Asians?! She could ask us kindly to put the tables and chairs back once we finish, which we did without being asked at the end. But with the unwelcoming remarks I will never come to support this business again. I don’t say this lightly but I felt it was discrimination in every way. I’m truly disappointed. I love Diane’s and the yummy treats but the owner was truly unkind. I share this post here because I don’t think this business supports diversity, which is a shame because this community is becoming more and more diversified.“
