“We hosted our daughter's first birthday here with 40 people on a Sunday afternoon. Working with Ervis and Gabriella was fantastic -- great communication and very flexible. The event turned out better than we could have expected. The food is AMAZING. Everybody is still raving about it and a few of our family members have already been back! Would definitely recommend hosting a small event here!“

“Saturday evening dinner without a reservation. Walking in, my eyes immediately gravitated to the pictures of the owners and the many celebrities that have eaten and visited there before. The bar area is very nice and large, with TVs playing sports and news. We were greeted, welcomed and seated immediately. The dining area is very large and decorous. The tables large enough to sit us all. My cousin-in-law and his family frequent the restaurant and he practically knows everyone there, so as we sat, we were introduced to the owners and pretty much about a half dozen waiters and other staff members. All were extremely friendly and welcoming. As expected with all family style restaurants, the tables are very close to one another but positioned in a way that still allowed for ample space for you to move and sit comfortably. When we sat, there were hardly any people there, but within an hour it was full of patrons and large families. It was loud, but manageable. The food was unbelievably delicious. I haven't had true traditional family style Italian food in a long time. From the Fried Calamari and cold antipasto appetizers, to our Veal Parmigiana, Penne allá Vodka with Shrimp and prosciutto entrees. Paired with a Cabernet Sauvignon Palermo Napa, I truly enjoyed my meal. I haven't enjoyed food this good in a long time. My girls shared a huge plate of Chicken fingers and fries, and they loved it. I highly recommend anyone who's in the area to dine here. You won't regret it. Thank you for a great meal and patronage.“

“A unique restaurant offering Mexican and Italian cuisine. My partner and I started off with a delicious Greek salad and then both had fajitas. There was an abundance of the chicken and steak in the fajitas. They came out sizzling hot and were seasoned nicely and flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is not large and has a friendly and family atmosphere. Definitely check it out!!!“

“We’ve been coming to Franina for years but I never posted anything until now. The food is excellent and the presentation is elegant and creative. Check out the Frutti di Mare. It could have been plated like most other restaurants do which is a pile of seafood on a few large leaves of romaine. But at Franina, it’s a work of art and absolutely delicious.“

“Doesnt.Get.Any.Better. We were fans of MK locations in Cedarhurst for years and were heartbroken when they closed. Thankfully (primarily take-out) locations are available in Rockville Centre and (I think still) in Syosset. Where do I start??? The following dishes we get regularly are the best compared to any other Italian restaurant- chicken parmigiana, garlic knots, portobello tower, shrimp Parmigiana, spaghetti and meatballs, gorgonzola salad and........OH MY GOD!- Creamed spinach pizza!!!!! Staff are ALWAYS friendly, portions are generous, and orders often arrive with extra treats Thanks Mama, Glenn, Mark, Lisa, and all the wonderful people we've encountered-my three kids are the third generation to enjoy Mother Kelly's.“

“Twas the night before Thanksgiving....who wanted to go out...?Recently, I was asked what was my favorite italian restaurant on Long Island. Not wanting to be rude, I didn't say "home", I said I don't have one. Well, I was wrong. Franina is MY FAVORITE italian restaurant on Long Island. We have been going to Franina for the past several years. Always a solid meal with expert service. Normally, the restaurant is full and you need a reservation, especially on weekend nights. This night it was very slow. Actually, I think only 20 or so people had dinner during our meal. Sometimes, this can work against you. Not this night, it's part of what made the evening special. We felt that the entire staff was serving us exclusively. We felt special. We met the chef at the bar before our meal. We asked what fish was good, he responded with the usual suspects, bronzino, red snapper, swordfish...the usual. I know he personally made our meal. Perfection. We started with something that wasn't on the menu. Fried shrimp. I had been craving it. Not sure they do it all the time, maybe they did because it was slow. Well, they knocked it out of the park. U10's expertly battered in panko with a side of marinara sauce. Simple, right....not so easy to make extremely well. Hot, crunchy and not over cooked. Sublime. We followed by splitting the pappardelle with veal ragu. Also, surprisingly light. No butter or cream. That would be cheating. For our main, we split the branzino. Wow ! Sauteed and finished with a light dusting of breadcrumbs. Nicely garnished with vegetables and a few roasted potatoes. Again, simple, but hard to execute at this level. Perfection.Franina is the pinnacle of a professionally managed restaurant with seasoned and knowledgeable staff at all levels. It's sort of a ballet where the maitre de greets you and the captain takes your order and waiters bring your food. It's an experience that evokes earlier times ( times I am fortunate to remember as a child ). I am sure they still do table service on some dishes. I haven't seen it, but I'm sure they do. The room is elegant with graciously spaced tables. They have three dining rooms. Private parties would be nice here.Franina is a cut above.Give it a try.“

“We didn't know about this hidden gem. Friends suggested and highly recommended it and they live 20 minutes away. I have to say it was one of the best dinner experiences that I have had in a while. The food was perfect and they have a ton of gluten free options, and the chef is willing to accommodate just about any allergies. And best yet it was much more reasonable than other restaurants around town.Dietary restrictions: Offered to make almost any dish according to your needs with substitutions.“
