They build great sandwiches and do their best keeping the ingredients fresh!The staff great you as you arrive and after getting food there a few times they will remember you. The manager and staff are polite, pleasent and are excellent in serving the customers. They try their best to keep the eating area clean, but there are some very sloppy patrons that leave all their refuse on the tables, but the workers clear away quickly. After trying Pat and Gino’s in Philadelphia, and then others, I was convinced that I did not like cheese wiz on my Philly. I was wrong, hands down this is the best. “Honestly, this place is so slept on... Krave It has the best pizza in Bayside— by a LANDSLIDE. I love that they use unbromated flour and I appreciate that every piece (even the specialty slices with many heavy toppings) has great structure, no flop. Thin & crispy crust, great ratio of sauce and cheese. I also love how clean the restaurant is. They have some incredible specialty slices that I never knew I needed in my life until I tried them! Especially the “Desi Boy” slice and the “white truffle chicken cutlet” slice. I also have to mention their vodka slice with sesame crust 🤤 Everything in this place is high quality, even their regular slices. Their sandwiches are pretty incredible too, and you can tell that the bread is fresh made in house— you don’t feel bloated or overly stuffed after eating them! The owner is super friendly and even gave us a couple extra slices to try to complete our “pie” when we had already ordered a small variety of slices. The staff are all very friendly and it feels very comfortable and less stuffy than some of the other pizzerias in the area. Happy to give this place my business. There are so many options for food, lots of drinks in fridges throughout the deli. There is an ATM inside, and just a heads up you get a slight discount for paying in cash. But you can pay with card as well.

Then Little Italy rises around me, red sauce in the window, low voices behind the counter, somebody laughing too loud in the back.

For twenty minutes, I carry the whole life: full tables, protected blocks, meat sliced with purpose, children who grow up knowing someone is standing at the door.

The only improvement I’d suggest is that they actually ROLL it (like the picture on their menu) in paper foil so it’s easy to eat.
