I recommend my favorite, which is a chicken sandwich with the rotisserie chicken on hero bread with the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeño, mayonnaise and avocado. Your belly will thank you for the fulfilling-ness of this meal. I also get a smoothie with papaya, apple, pineapple, orange and cayenne pepper.

“I normally pickup my order and never an issue, food is delicious however, today we sat in to celebrate my mother’s 77th Bday and to my surprise the food wasn’t as good as i expected. The mofongo was dry even w/sauce and my mom’s salmon was overcooked. The server was pleasant so my 20%tip was for her service and I did mention the salmon was dry and she said she’d let the cook know but no discount was offered, although I’m sure it’s not her call to do that I had liked if it was offered.“

The ambience is family oriented, nice decor, food and service was excellent, affordable, I highly recommend. I also found parking on the corner, which was convenient. I did wish I was able to order over the phone and do a deposit by card but I had to come in person for it. I don’t live the borough but the food was worth it. My favorite dish from here is the garlic chicken with rice and beans, as well as the fresh juices. One can make a dish off of the snack foods and smaller dishes by themselves; the standard rice platter that came with the aforementioned chicken lasted me for a few days, there was so much. They also have a wide variety of breakfast dishes and don't mind customizing them as needed.“

Best if you go order early because they sell out fast. They have great menu selections. Staff are always friendly and the portions are very good. Highly recommended.“

“I recommend no other Dominican restaurant in sunset park’s other than El Buen Gusto. It’s been open since the late 80’s by the same owners who ARE Dominican so you will always get authentic food. PLUS, They deliver pretty far IF it’s a big order. In indoor dining is always great, place is very clean and the service is impeccable. They remodeled recently, so the place looks brand new. It’s warm in the winter and extremely comfortable in the summer. Great Latin flavors, all their dishes are fresh and nothing is reheated or frozen.
