“This place is simply amazing, the food is some of the best I've ever had and by far the best Thai food in the city. The dishes are tantalizing and unapologetically spicy and I wouldn't want it any other way. Having said that, coming here is a rare treat due to the sky high prices, that honestly feel unreasonable. The place is always packed so it seems no one else has an issue with dropping at least 30 bucks for a small, albeit amazing and memorable dish. Just based on the food, this place is 10/10, but the prices limit how often I can come back.“

“This Thai restaurant in the Broadway, Brooklyn area is truly unique. We stopped in for dinner around 9 PM, and as expected in New York, parking was tricky—we ended up parking about half a mile away and walking.
The ambiance stood out immediately: very dimly lit, almost to the point where you could barely see your food, with low, close-set tables and eclectic décor. A Thai movie was projected on a big screen (without sound), which added to the charm. However, we were seated next to a rack filled with condiments, possibly fish sauce, which gave off a strong odor that was a little distracting.
For appetizers, we tried the steamed dumplings (shumai style), stuffed with chicken and shrimp. They arrived hot, juicy, and perfectly steamed, with a light soy-based dipping sauce—simple but excellent. For my main, I ordered my go-to Thai dish: minced meat with basil, served with rice. The portion was generous enough that I had leftovers for lunch the next day. It was flavorful, though I wished for a bit more chili heat and a stronger punch of basil. A fried egg on top would have been the perfect touch but was missing. My husband chose a soupy noodle dish with a curry-like broth and chicken. The broth was mild but aromatic, the chicken tender, and the fried noodles added nice texture. The menu itself was fairly small but thoughtfully curated, with some interesting options like Wagyu beef.
Overall, despite the very dim lighting and the occasional strong condiment smell, the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I’d recommend this spot for anyone looking for a slightly off-beat but tasty Thai dining experience in Brooklyn.“

“Absolutely delicious food and drinks! I highly recommend the volcano wings for appetizer and colossal crab meat fried rice and the giant river prawn curry for entrees. Portions are great for sharing too!“

“By far my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. I’ve eaten there a few times now and each time is better than the last. Don’t sleep on their orange wines and definitely don’t sleep on the spicier dishes. For my money better than uncle boons / fish cheeks. So so so good! Also fantastic service always!“

“This restaurant has a beautiful ambience and great service. The Purple Blossom Dumplings were works of art, to the point where we hesitated to destroy them by eating them. And they were tasty, too. I had the sautéed chicken ginger for my main course, and it was flavorful without being too sweet, and had a nice mix of vegetables, chicken, and rice. I loved this restaurant.“

“Good place for Thai twisted food. We got Krapow burger and Thai tea. Burger was good, the spicy was kicked! But the Thai tea was quite fade for me. The restaurant was cute and cozy. They have few tables, inside looks so clean. They have cute merchs as well, like some shirts and tote bags. I want to go back and try their holy basil stir fried and crispy pork belly.“

“Food here smells good, but we ordered on seamless and our order is 20 minutes late. We are still waiting on it and the tables are more or less empty but they won’t let us sit down.
Update: the food was absolutely delicious. We had to eat it while walking and they didn’t give us silverware so we ate like savages but it was GOOOOOOOOD!
Service not good but omg I’d still go back when I have more time and patience“

“In my 15 years in NYC, this is the best Thai delivery I have ever had. Everything was delicious - we got pad see ew, crab fried rice, gaeng dang, Kanom jeeb, and crab Rangoon. It was all absolutely excellent! Flavorful, fresh, well seasoned, warm when it arrived, each dish as good as the last. This is a new favorite takeout spot and we’d love to go in person sometime as well!“

“I LOVE this pretty jewel box of a Thai restaurant. It's the go to for me and my gf whenever we visit the Brooklyn Museum, or are in the mood for delicious, affordable Thai food in a lovely setting . The place is gorgeous : the walls are in deep teal with gold leaf overlay. There are chandeliers and gold candelabras with fresh flowers at the up lit bar. Fabulous for a date night but also family friendly when the sun is up. The staff are solicitous but not pushy. But the food is what truly stands out. Beautifully plated and always tasty, you cannot go wrong with whatever you choose. My friend and I are both wild about the tangy roast pork with sticky rice. Sooooooo good!! And they make great cocktails. You should definitely go!!“

“By far the best Som Tam I've ever eaten outside of Thailand, and I've tried quite a few. Very fresh and aromatic papaya, and just the right blend of lime and fish sauce round it all out. I also highly recommend the Sai Ua, a Chiang Mai sausage with herbs. Simply delicious in a stylish and very well-kept ambiance. Highly recommended.“

“We had our favorite duck dish last night from Amarin Cafe. I had pre-ordered it, because it often sells out, but arrived an hour early because I was looking at a clock I had not yet set back! They graciously agreed to get started on it right away, so I walked around the block, and it was done.“

“This is THE place for Thai food in dumbo. What a treat for lunch. $10 for pad see ew with tofu in this economy? The food is great, prices are unbeatable, and the portions are generous. Cash/venmo only (maybe cashapp/zelle but not 100% sure).“

“Love the vibe here with the old Thai movie posters and products from Thailand visible on the shelves. Bangkok BAR does the classics well and the staff are mostly from Thailand so they grew up with the items on the menu. Love the beef larb and crying tiger.“

“I finally succumbed to my curiosity about this place today and stopped by for lunch and I'm glad I did. I ordered the Thai Pinto Lunch Set w/ Drunken Noodles (with tofu, no egg), coconut soup, and spring rolls. I'm vegan and they were really accommodating with swapping out animal flesh for tofu and removing the egg. Plus, they even let me get Drunken Noodles which weren't even on the lunch menu The outdoor seating set up was really nice and the food was served astonishingly quickly - probably in less than 10 minutes and all 3 courses arrived in a stack of lidded ceramic bowls which was extremely convenient because I could choose to keep whichever dish I wanted hot without waiting for anything else to arrive. The servings were on the small side which was perfect actually and still a great value for about $15. All the food was fresh and the service was very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to coming back!“

“I’ve been to this food hall many times, but nothing wowed me more than Baby’s BB. The food was hot and cooked fresh on the spot. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy, the rice was flavorful, and both the salad and coleslaw were delicious. The chili sauce paired perfectly with the dish, and the portion was huge for just $20. Honestly, I’d recommend this place to all my friends!“

“Super busy weekend, we walked by this place and took a look around. I couldn't get past how good it smelled and with so many other options this one won me over. Best pad Thai I ever had. The thai tea was good too. We're from Pennsylvania . I might have to go back to Brooklyn just for this. We took our food to go but would love to sit down and eat here when theres not so much going on. Service was so friendly and amazing. Skip Mexology and come here. 100% worth it.“

“As a heavy lover of Thai food, I came to BK‘s Rua Thai restaurant today to try it. From the appetizer to the final dessert, every bite is authentic Southeast Asian flavor. Spring roll was your usual the but the tofu soup was great and very flavor. The green was curry was INCREDIBLE. Full of flavor with a hint of spice. The chicken was nice and soft. Very filling and absolutely worth the visit.“

“I have been coming to this place for over a year with my brother, and the overall experience has been fantastic. Authentic Thai food, kind service, and a relaxed spot to chill. The place is small yet cozy, though it might be convenient to consider take out ordering.
I have personally lived in Thailand myself, and the flavors here are comparable to many of the outstanding food markets I had the chance to stop by (some of them holding the famous Michelin star).
We found fascinating that every dish in the menu has something to offer, but in my humble opinion, you will never go wrong with their Khao Soi Gai (you need to enjoy spicy flavors too). A true hidden gem in Brooklyn, and one of our favorite restaurants in town.“
