“I have to share an incredible story with you.. It’s long so please hang in there. One of my children had their tonsils out last Wednesday. I’m sure when this happens as a child it must be horrible, I know growing up so many of my friends had their tonsils out, but I was completely unprepared for how healing would be for my child who is an adult. The recovery has been so much more than any of us anticipated. For their recovery I was asked if I would bring up Blue Hawaii ice from Ralph’s. Off to the store we went, purchased a few half gallons and brought it on the trip with us as we met up with our child the day of surgery. 24 hours after surgery my baby was a mess, the pain was horrible, and the only thing helping was blue Hawaii ice from Ralph’s! I called the store and asked if there was a way to ship the ice to my child. The gentleman on the phone, who I now know as the owner of both the Selden Ralph’s and the Farmingville Locations immediately started to explain to me how we may be able to make that work. The next morning, after my child had already gone through a half gallon, I realized I had to try. When I called that day Pat took charge, not only did he do the research for what I needed, he got it all together for me. He even went so far as to tell me that if he couldn’t figure it out he would be willing to drive the 2.5-3 hours to bring it to them. (Let me add in my other child who is on the island with me was just diagnosed with a concussion, and needed me home so I was unable to be with my child who was recovering from surgery 😭) Pat went to UPS for me and picked up the right size box and the packaging I needed. Then he went on to get dry ice to make sure Blue Hawaii would survive the trip. While the local dry ice place wasn’t so kind, he then drove to Bay Shore to another reliable source who helped. (This was now taking up a ton of this mans time, a decision he made to help me to help my child feel better at no additional charge or perks for him. Without his help I would have never been able to figure this out or get it out that day) He packed the order and I had a friend meet up with him who would then take it to UPS for me to ship it out. So off the ice went on its journey. And it arrived 100% prefect to my child the next day. Yesterday I finally had the chance to meet the man who cared enough to go above and beyond for my family. He didn’t have to do this, there was nothing in it for him, he even gave her extra ice, and I honestly believe he would have taken the drive himself. I went back in to purchase yet another gallon and a half for my child who has not spoken since the surgery but when I FaceTimed them from his store yesterday they did so to thank this wonderful man blue tongue and all 😂. As I am now sitting on the ferry reflecting I needed to share this story with all of you. I am a big believer in being there for one another and what a random act of kindness can do and the impact it can have. This man could have just left it, he could have told me how to do it, and I could have attempted to stumble through while caring for my other child recovering at home yet he went the extra mile for my family. We already were huge fans of Ralph’s but they will now be our one and only stop. I hope if you have never given them a shot you will <3 and my child’s suggestion of course is try Blue Hawaii! I can’t wait to bring her more ice today!“

“I did a take out order at the East Islip location. The food was good but the super melts do not seem to have much meat on them like they use to. If the prices are going up with less portions that’s going to be a problem for Friendly’s. I would hate to see them go out of business because I love Friendlys too!!“

“Since I was a child this has been my families go-to ice house. I live 30 minutes away from this AMAZING ice house and it is worth the time to get there. The best ice house on Long Island, in my opinion. They are celebrating 50 years for a reason. All of the ices have so much flavor and Pistachio is my favorite.
I am sure you will not be disappointed with your ice choice. So good“

“Ice cream seems to be fresh all the time. The ice cream sandwiches are filled.Some of the carvels don't fill them all the way.. The Carvel on portion road have icicles in theirs. Also , the people that run the carvel on middle country road , are very friendly.“

“Went to get some ice-cream after dinner. The staff greeted us as we walked in the door. They were quick and efficient. They double checked that certain ice-cream were okay to have with my food allergy. They have a freezer full of premade ice-creams and cakes or you can pick from different size cones or cups. They have different flavors of soft serve or hard ice-cream and many different toppings to choose from. They don't have any seating so we had to take it to go. I was so intent on eating my ice-cream I forgot to take pictures.“

“Kool Kat supplied icecream at my granddaughter birthday party Saturday the 22 of August. It was the Highlight of the day. When everyone heard the beeping of the truck backing into my driveway the happy shouting started. Every adult and child came out to have some. The operator was so pleasant to my guests. “I coach the three young boys of the owners here for swimming and have been looking forward to trying out their restaurant and coming here for desert. I ended up getting take out last night but still had to stop by to grab froyo for after. Not a single regret. I had had their frozen yogurt before from them having brought it in to an SSC practice for the kids to enjoy (Goat move) but this was the first time I had gone into the store. The whole place had a lovely atmosphere full of life and enjoyment. There were teenagers hanging out, people talking, the owner making sure everything was going smoothly, it all around had an incredible and nostalgic vibe. Additionally the selection was fantastic, heaps of options to choose from, many of which being fat free, and gluten free options available! The huge cherry on top is the owners are absolutely fantastic people and seeing how they treat their staff and guests like family it is easy to see how they are raising such incredible young men. Definitely recommend trying out and stopping next door to try the Dragon Chinese Resta next door owned by the same family! (I know Ill be back!:))“

“I’ve been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. The Italian ice is always fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The owner truly takes pride in his business and works incredibly hard to provide a great product while keeping prices fair.

I spent some time there one afternoon and gained a whole new appreciation for what it takes to run a small business. It’s amazing how creative people can be when things don’t quite go their way, but he handled every interaction with patience, professionalism, and respect. “I stopped in for ice cream, and my card kept getting declined, despite there being plenty of money on it. I kept asking the girls to scan the card at the top of the POS machine, and they kept telling me they cannot scan the card until the card was entered into the machine three times. I have never encountered this before.I really think there is a mistake, because the scan option was implemented to protect consumers from having to enter or swipe their cards at a POS machine. I never scan my card at retail establishments anymore; I always scan my card at the top of the machine, and my payment is always accepted. I am never told I need to enter my card three times before scanning.It ends up some lovely woman paid for my ice cream anyway, which I am highly appreciative of.“
