“I've been coming here for about a Month now, and the food can be Hit or Miss it's honestly on your Type of Taste. I like to try things and Hope for the best. So far I'm about 70/30 with this spot. Very nice owner and staff is amazing in my experience. Cash is King but so is taxes when credit is involved. They open at 6am and the food is made fresh. The Soup is great and the Oatmeal. My favorite is the Sausage Egg and cheese on a Croissant 🥐. And They also do Breakfast all day. But let's just say I'm not a Salad guy, the dressing was a bit tasteless and a lot of Red onions, I want that breath after lunch 😂, but that's part of the Greek Salad. Had a unique thing wrapped in I think spinach not sure what was in it. But I ate most of it. Let's just say I will stick with my usual and stop going off of someone's spontaneous lunch suggestion. The saving grace was the shish kabob added to the Salad with the Pita bread.“

“This place ended up being such a pleasant surprise. The menu had a really nice variety without feeling overwhelming — plenty of different meat cuts, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, and lighter options, so it felt easy to find something that matched whatever mood you’re in.

We started with the French onion soup, and it was honestly one of the better versions I’ve had in a while. The cheese on top was perfectly melted and flavorful without becoming too heavy, and the balance between the broth and onions was done really well. A lot of places overload the onions to the point where the soup loses its depth, but this one kept everything balanced and comforting.

We also ordered a panini-style baguette sandwich, which was fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor. The bread had a great texture, and the mix of vegetables paired really nicely with the vinaigrette and mustard dipping sauces. The sauces actually stood out because they added flavor without overpowering the sandwich itself.

The atmosphere made the whole experience even better. The bright interior, cozy setup, and French snacks lining the walls gave the restaurant a charming café feel that felt both casual and inviting. It had personality without trying too hard to be trendy.

Another highlight was the staff. Everyone was incredibly polite, patient, and genuinely helpful when it came to recommendations. Even with the place staying busy, the food came out surprisingly fast, which made the experience feel smooth from start to finish.

And the Nutella crepe absolutely lived up to expectations. They definitely didn’t hold back on the filling, and it made for a really satisfying dessert to end the meal.

The only small downside is that indoor seating is limited, so I could see it becoming crowded during peak hours. Still, between the quality of the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the friendly service, it’s definitely a spot worth returning to.“

“Caveat, I did go here pregnant after fasting for 15 hours for a blood test so this is a very biased review. I had the chicken parm on the rosemary potato focaccia. The bread was fresh. Sandwich was warm. It felt like a hug. It was just what I needed. Very small seating area so definitely more of a togo spot but I was ravenous, undeterred and a bit delirious so inhaled the sandwich there and then got a Nutella filled donut to go.“

“The wait to order here on a weekend morning is a bit obscene, however the sandwiches are so very good and the desserts are not to be missed! Even though the line is long I think the staff and customers do a great job of handling the crowd and doing their best to open up the tables when you are finished.“

“I always come in the afternoon and evening but the employees are a bit rude and not attentive to details, i was out late with my husband and we were shocked to see it open by 12.30am, we were told later its 24hours.
The manager on duty moe was great, pure example of great customer service and great with people, amazing multi tasker, he was doing our orders and food delivery orders at the same time.
Store was clean and music was beautful, atmosphere was great. I actually sent my husband twice last week late in the night to make sure we are served by moe.

“Stumbled across the place during my walk this afternoon, popped in for a smash burger and fries and was delighted to find the food was excellent! The burger was fresh and cooked perfectly, and the fresh cut fries were crispy and delicious. What a pleasant surprise! Welcome to the neighborhood, Empire Shop!“

“I attended an event that had rented this space. It is very clean, well lit, everything with the space seemed to be working well. It is in a complex that faces a parking lot. My only suggestion would be better signage as to where the entrance is at. (Hint: look for the blue door)“

“Honestly, this place is so slept on... Krave It has the best pizza in Bayside— by a LANDSLIDE. I love that they use unbromated flour and I appreciate that every piece (even the specialty slices with many heavy toppings) has great structure, no flop. Thin & crispy crust, great ratio of sauce and cheese. I also love how clean the restaurant is. They have some incredible specialty slices that I never knew I needed in my life until I tried them! Especially the “Desi Boy” slice and the “white truffle chicken cutlet” slice. I also have to mention their vodka slice with sesame crust 🤤 Everything in this place is high quality, even their regular slices. Their sandwiches are pretty incredible too, and you can tell that the bread is fresh made in house— you don’t feel bloated or overly stuffed after eating them! The owner is super friendly and even gave us a couple extra slices to try to complete our “pie” when we had already ordered a small variety of slices. The staff are all very friendly and it feels very comfortable and less stuffy than some of the other pizzerias in the area. Happy to give this place my business. “Love the Wheelhouse. I usually come here for brunch and dinner. The sandwiches and pastas are always on point, melding richness and flavor. The Cuban sandwich and pulled pork sandwiches are my go tos. If I’m in the mood for messy, I’ll have the short rib sandwich - juicy and slightly sweet. I recently got the short rib cavatelli pasta and it might be my new fave. My boyfriend’s standard grilled cheese with a chicken cutlet is also excellent. But it is the chicken alfredo pasta that makes me wish I weren’t lactose intolerant.

“Who normalized charging $20 for an Italian sub? It just feels un-American. Thankfully D&F in Astoria is more patriotic than that and their Italian combo hero is a very reasonable $10.50. It comes with all the classic meats, provolone, and oil & vinegar. My personal opinion is that an Italian sandwich is better after a few hours in the fridge so plan accordingly.“
