I got the large fresh shrimp roll with an egg and chili and soy sauce ($8 total). When I went the line was short like 3 people in front of me. “The chef deserves a medal for grinding and cooking in this heat wave in such small quarters. The heat didn't affect his attitude at all though! He was so pleasant. I ordered the small ox tail plate that came with rice and beans and 2 big pieces of sweet plantain. I requested the Jamaican slaw which was a mixture of macaroni and cabbage and seasoning that I loved. The mac n cheese was exactly what a mac n cheese should be. Dense and delicious! The neighborhood really benefits from people like this sharing their culture and flavor so thank you!“

“I've tried a handful of spots at Urban Hawker, but this one might just be my favorite.

I've tried their Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice and their Grilled Chicken Curry Rice. Both are so good. I can see why their curry sauce is in half their menu lol. The curry is not too spicy, and the flavors just hit. It pairs really well with the chicken, whether grilled or cutlet. They also add an immense amount of cabbage. I am a big fan of vegetables, so I always love when restaurants give generous portions of it in a dish.

I'm honestly so stoked to come back and try their Hainanese Fish and Chips (saw many great reviews about).“

“This guy is a real gem. He has created a brand in himself. Even when he was asking people in the line that he won’t be able to serve them as the food would be over by the time their turn will come, nobody was willing to leave the queue. And he was sensible enough to request other customers for ordering less so that he can feed everyone still standing for their turn. The cost of the dosas are minimal and the taste was homely. “Incredible pillow soft tortillas and very richly flavored enchiladas. Really great food. Played a violent action movie at high volume over very quiet but great background music, brought out food in takeout containers, seems like eat in service is an afterthought, which is too bad because the decor is very pleasant.“

“The Peking Duck here is tasty with rich flavor and crispy skin, but the meat itself was a bit too tough and chewy, making it hard to bite through cleanly. While the seasoning and presentation were enjoyable, the texture of the duck could definitely be improved for a better dining experience.“

Wait Time can be longer because they do make them fresh when orders are received. It’s a very crispy snack to eat, and many flavors. Good to try them out, and not many places actually sells these.“

“I have never had an authentic jian Bing from Beijing or Tianjing but I have seen YouTube videos which made them look amazing. I've tried a number of jian Bing from other cities in China as well as the US and they always fell short, even in China. The crepe was sometimes too thick, the crispy filling was not crispy enough, the packing was too loose with the ingredients falling out, etc.

Watching the lady make the jian Bing here really reminded me of those YouTube videos I had seen from the places in Tianjing. Both the taste and texture were wonderful and blew away all the other jian Bing I've had.“

“Good halal spot..The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The portions were generous, and everything tasted like it was made with care. The rice, sauces, and sides all came together really well. The service was friendly and quick too. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for a good halal meal , would come back again“

“Best soy milk , tofu and tofu pudding in the U.S.! They use a type of soy beans that are tinier, not the bigger ones grown in U.S. or Canada. The soy flavor is much more packed and stronger in their soy products!

If you wanna buy their soy beans, ask them for a loose 2-pound pack.“

“Hands down, these were the best rice noodles I’ve ever had! They had that perfect texture—incredibly soft yet delightfully chewy. We ordered the beef rice noodles, and they were fantastic.

We also tried the preserved egg with salted pork congee, though that one could have used a bit more flavor.

Wait Time: We waited about 15 minutes for our food, likely due to a high volume of online orders coming in.

“A true 6 dollar meal it comes with rice, protein of choice, salad and fries. I usually get chicken over rice with extra pita bread. Comes out to 7 dollars, best food I can get. The drink comes included. However they did charge me for a drink once a few days ago. I’m not sure why I should have asked but I just assumed it was a change but the next day they didn’t charge me it? So I think I just lost a dollar at that point. 😔 but it doesn’t really ruin my experience of this place because other food area near by will charge me 3 dollars for an empanada or 10 dollars for fries. This place I can count on being fast and affordable and always good“

“Came with my boyfriend whos been here multiple times and said it was delicious, and he wasn’t wrong. We got chicken, squid, chinese sausage, ricecake, shrimp, and beef skewers that were ALL amazing. HIGHLY recommend the spicy powder on any skewer you order. I have low tolerance for spice, but it was just a small kick for a couple seconds. I will be coming here way more often, I found my favorite food spot for late night snacks.“

“I went to Tacos El Idolo at about 2:30 am last night while waiting for my friend to get off of work. The truck was unassuming and simple, which was a good sign. I ordered a chicken tostada, a taco arabe, and a carne asada taco. I asked for extra green salsa and the staff happily gave it to me. I ate everything two blocks away outside of Wonderville on top of a city trash can. It was pretty good!

I was surprised as a San Diego native, since I’m used to pretty exceptional Mexican food in Tijuana and the border area. My favorite items were the chicken tostada and carne asada taco. If you’re in the area, they serve until 5 am!“

“Wafels & Dinges was such a great find! It’s in a super convenient location close to the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, and the subway, making it an easy stop while exploring this part of NYC.

They have a really cute setup with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the menu has so many options. There’s a great mix of both sweet and savory waffles, so everyone can find something they’ll like. Our group tried a variety of both, and everything was so good! The waffles were also surprisingly filling, and our food came out quickly.

Everyone working there was incredibly friendly too. Great food, quick service, cute atmosphere, and an awesome location. Definitely recommend stopping by!“

“I don’t buy Mobile Cart food much , but this one was good . I just had a 5 min break and didn’t have time to go to a restaurant to order food . Rafiqis had no customers and quickly went and ordered. The price on Tyne right side of the truck isn’t the right amount . They increased the price and had a different rate on the front of the cart ..

Got felafel over rice .. felafel was fresh ….i actually liked their saffron rice . It was fresh and tasted good . They gave it with salad and some sauce on the top. Costed about 11$ , which isn’t bad . Quantity of rice was small but it was good enough ! My friends had lamb over rice and they liked it . Good experience overall …“

If they aren't on the corner of Jerome Ave and Bedford Park Blvd look down the block over the bridge of the train yard. They have another spot by the entrance to the college.“

“Hainan Jones – Delicious Singapore Chicken & Rice!

I tried the combo with roasted chicken and steamed chicken, and my wife ordered the steamed chicken rice. Both were moist, tender, and full of flavor — exactly what you want from authentic Hainanese chicken rice. The portion size was perfect for one person, and the meal came with a warm cup of chicken soup and steamed vegetables, which made it even better. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying. We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back!“

“I visited the Potala Fresh Food truck. These are my favorite momo in the city! The momo are so fresh and juicy you have to lean over the container or plate when you eat them, it’s that juicy! I typically get the beef but they have chicken and other varieties as well. I love that you can also order them frozen if you need a large amount for a home event.“

“The food is the best chicken & lamb over rice I have ever tasted. The greens are fresh. Everything is so good. I never get red sauce, but their red sauce has like this fresh homemade taste. It’s just so good just spicy enough. I get their red sauce and that says a lot.“
