“We went tonight on Feb 26 2024 and everything was amazing! Really good. The fried green tomatoes are so good I never had something with a flavor Like that. You have to just go and see for yourselves. Because I can't explain the flavor.. I'm not doing it any justice.....The place was very clean and the staff was very helpful and Courteous. “I ordered the porchetta sandwich. It looked better than it tasted. The ciabatta was not a true ciabatta and did not go with the sandwich. The porchetta was just crisped up pork belly and was skimpy on the portion considering the price of the sandwich. The waitress said I can substitute the fries for any of the sides but didn't state there would be an upcharge. There was tiny fine print under the sandwiches that says they'll be an upcharge but it's very easy to overlook. I opted for the warm cabbage side which was very tasty and would order again.My friend ordered the beet salad and that looked amazing. I'd suggest trying that and if I go again I'll order that instead.Lastly, the water glass had lipstick on it. I wasn't wearing any. When I asked for a fresh and clean water glass, there was no acknowledgement about the lipstick, even after I pointed it out. That was unprofessional, in my opinion as a former waitress and bartender.Overall, will I go back? Eventually, yes but it's towards the bottom of the list of things to do.“

“The ambiance of Raconteur was just perfect. For that brief 1.5hr dinner, I was transported to a cozy, warm and inviting place. The service was excellent (I even shared our server that her aura was glowing). Since we were doing vegetarian that night, we had the spicy shrooms (flavorful, but a little too chewy for me). Then we tried 2 other entrees that I cant remember the names but the taste was unforgettable, one had had honey on it and the other arugula- the bread, folks will make you rethink Keto- reminds me of home made bread. There were fish & meat entrees as well. Go for the vibe, and be transported and renewed. So glad I found this little gem.“

“Wowsa what a meal!!! Friends had posted beautiful pics of their meals from their tasting menu. It's cute: half the restaurant is a traditional dining room and the other is take out fish and chips. You can have a delicious meal a la carte or the tasting menu. I could not convince my husband to do the 15 course chef's tasting menu. But we did do the tasting menu with wine. Every dish was light, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed the wine pairings which were different (portuguese and spanish wines rounded out some American and South African wines). I am excited to come back to try more of their traditional menu and their namesake (fish and chips). Well worth a visit.“

“We came here based on the reviews after an appointment and upper Westchester. This is actually after our second visit.We actually sat in the lounge area by the bar, where it was happy hour and enjoy the music, the energy of the surrounding people and of course the food is excellent. “Yummy seafood. Good date night. It was a week day, so not so busy. I was told it was difficult to get in on weekends. I had mussels as an appetizer and some kind of chicken dish (basically chicken piccata) with risotto on the side. The mussels were amazing, and they had like a broth and toast on the side. I had in mind the chicken would be a little different, but my husband thought it was really good. The risotto was creamy and flavorful. I decided I needed a vegetable, so I ordered some broccoli. They cooked it butter with some garlic slivers, and that broccoli was just delicious. I was stuffed after that, and had that broccoli taste for a little while. Amazing.“

“Situated in an old ammunition depot, the recently renovated first class, or "firstie", club has a much more exclusive and bespoke feeling than the days of yore. Gone are the sticky floors, the dripping roof from the back room, the broken foosball tables, the jukebox that seemed to host only various versions of the song, "Wagon Wheel", or the bartenders that would serve you a pitcher of Jack and a pitcher of Coke on a Thursday just because you asked for it. taco Tuesday and wing Wednesday are pretty popular, as is Thursday evening following spirit dinner when the place is packed with the sons and daughters of slum and gravy. Extensive selection of beer on tap, and the menu is generally very good. Their version of a clucking Russian is as good and attempt at re-creating perfection as I have seen. Worth a visit.“

“I have been here multiple times and everytime the food and service are excellent. This time it was for breakfast with the Easter bunny. It was a perfectly executed passed brunch. With all the kids it was nice not to have to wait in a buffet line.“

We've eaten here a couple of times in the food's been good. I was a little disappointed in the chicken scarp as the potatoes were cold in the middle was kind of strange. I would have liked some more game options, especially since they have a sports bar section for adults. They also have an axe throwing setup as well. Part of this place is under renovation. “If you want the feel of your neighborhood bar while away visiting West Point, stop at South Gate Tavern. Food was ok, stay away from the friend ravioli. They definitely have cold beer but even better, the conversations w the bartenders. Both made it feel like I was a regular for years.
