“Really glad to have Empire Wok so close to home here in Delmar. I'm in Glenmont but it's only 5 minutes away. The food is delicious and the service was very friendly to me and my girl. We ordered BBQ spare ribs with pork fried rice and chicken wings with pork fried rice (no veggies). Both were fresh, tasty, and hit the spot. I used to order Chinese food a lot in the Bronx, so it’s great to finally have a place nearby that’s just as good. Definitely recommend!“

“I’ve been having food from here since before I can remember. Probably around 20-30 years? The food is ALWAYS consistent and amazing. Our entire family on both sides love this place. The family that operates the place are some of the sweetest people in town. My folks from my generation that moved away still talks about how much they miss My Place and Great Wall 🤣😂!

They had a new menu item that interested me, crispy rice spicy tuna, I had something like it in LA this year and was craving a crispy rice sushi experience. Colleen was our waitress and she was amazing. She provided excellent service and made our date night memorable.“

The only bad thing is the atmosphere. Let's be honest, you aren't bringing a date here, or sitting down for a traditional family style Chinese meal. So atmosphere shouldn't be a problem. This isn't my favorite style of food, I'd rather go to Hu's House or Ala Shanghai. If American Chinese is your thing, DEFINITELY give this place a try!!!“

Incredibly reasonable prices, the most generous portions in the area, and consistently fantastic egg rolls and fried wontons. i personally love the boneless spare ribs the most! (also one of the only places in this area that puts beansprouts in the fried rice, so delicious!)

its also very telling that the only badmouthing ive seen is because of chicken that someone claimed was overcooked after they knowingly left it in the container tightly packed into a sealed bag for like an hour before eating it, which would obviously leave anything inside overcooked from trapped residual heat.“

Tried some new things like Chop Suey and Buddha's delight. Everything is super solid and delicious, lots of sauce. Everything arrived hot and I think they are now my favorite take out Chinese in the area. Normally eggplant and garlic sauce is dripping with oil. This was not. Ditto for the tofu. There are slight extra charges for things such as putting egg in the vegetable fried rice, but it is made the way we asked it to be made, and the delivery was quick and accurate. much better than using an online ordering app. I think the restaurant makes it better with direct ordering and we did too. This will be our go to rather than the two or three others in the immediate area.“

“I've ordered from this place multiple times through Uber Eats and have had a good experience majority of the time. I just never left a review until now. I try to NEVER order from a place that's about to close in less than an hour, but my food still arrived hot, fresh & correctly. The fried rice was great in my lunchtime order, definitely not dry.
I won't name names, but I see reviews that have 1 star on atmosphere, appeared to have been delivery. Maybe you meant your own space (where you consumed the food) has a terrible atmosphere?

“Only 20 years of experience eating at Gold Coin. I grew up with a paper route on 6th Ave in Highland park. I had it all planned out. I would deliver my papers up one side of the street, and then ride over to gold coin and order my shrimp with lobster sauce. Omg that was 4-5 days a week. That was the best dinner on the planet. Still no restaurant on this planet can come close to the taste and flavor. Then I would deliver to the other side of 6th ave, only to grab my dinner and eat it on my bicycle on the way home.
