“Really glad to have Empire Wok so close to home here in Delmar. I'm in Glenmont but it's only 5 minutes away. The food is delicious and the service was very friendly to me and my girl. We ordered BBQ spare ribs with pork fried rice and chicken wings with pork fried rice (no veggies). Both were fresh, tasty, and hit the spot. I used to order Chinese food a lot in the Bronx, so it’s great to finally have a place nearby that’s just as good. Definitely recommend!“

“I’ve been having food from here since before I can remember. Probably around 20-30 years? The food is ALWAYS consistent and amazing. Our entire family on both sides love this place. The family that operates the place are some of the sweetest people in town. My folks from my generation that moved away still talks about how much they miss My Place and Great Wall 🤣😂!

“We went with our friends for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant atmosphere is very nice. Our server Steven is very sweet snd attentive. He helped us with food and drink recommendation. “Sometimes you just want Wanton Soup. Bamboo does a great job with all their dumplings and the other American Chinese food. The owners seem to be an older couple that care more about their food quality than anywhere else in Schenectady. I wish they made real Chinese food as well! I feel like they would make killer Dongpo Pork, Chicken Feet, Tendon with Sea Cucumber, Jellyfish Salad, etc. If you like Beef Broccoli, Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour, this place has the BEST American style Chinese food. I haven't tried their pork yet, and that is usually the protein American Chinese makes hard, dry, and sometimes inedible (Scotia/Glenville Chinese food comes to mind, if anyone could make decent Asian food, you'd make generational wealth with all the terrible Asian food in Scotia/Glenville). The only bad thing is the atmosphere. Let's be honest, you aren't bringing a date here, or sitting down for a traditional family style Chinese meal. So atmosphere shouldn't be a problem. This isn't my favorite style of food, I'd rather go to Hu's House or Ala Shanghai. If American Chinese is your thing, DEFINITELY give this place a try!!!“

“This is the only chinese takeout place i trust. Incredibly reasonable prices, the most generous portions in the area, and consistently fantastic egg rolls and fried wontons. i personally love the boneless spare ribs the most! (also one of the only places in this area that puts beansprouts in the fried rice, so delicious!)

its also very telling that the only badmouthing ive seen is because of chicken that someone claimed was overcooked after they knowingly left it in the container tightly packed into a sealed bag for like an hour before eating it, which would obviously leave anything inside overcooked from trapped residual heat.“

Tried some new things like Chop Suey and Buddha's delight. Everything is super solid and delicious, lots of sauce. “Ordered food delivered for five people this evening. Selections were cold, sesame noodles, shrimp, eggroll, eggplant, garlic sauce, sesame, tofu, vegetable mushu, shrimp, chow mein, and vegetable fried rice. Everything arrived hot and I think they are now my favorite take out Chinese in the area. Normally eggplant and garlic sauce is dripping with oil. This was not. Ditto for the tofu. There are slight extra charges for things such as putting egg in the vegetable fried rice, but it is made the way we asked it to be made, and the delivery was quick and accurate. much better than using an online ordering app. I think the restaurant makes it better with direct ordering and we did too. This will be our go to rather than the two or three others in the immediate area.“

“I ordered chicken lo mein, crab Rangoon while my friend had the beef and broccoli with white rice. OMG the crab Rangoon was nice and crunchy and not too thick like other restaurants. The Lo mein was hot hot and so delicious. lol I wasn’t able to take a picture of the beef and broccoli as everything was gone so fast(they inhaled it). Very delicious, I was super surprised at how fast the food came and how well packaged it was. They give you this cute little insulated bag and the silverware was also packaged separately and the packed it so well. I won't name names, but I see reviews that have 1 star on atmosphere, appeared to have been delivery. Maybe you meant your own space (where you consumed the food) has a terrible atmosphere?

“Only 20 years of experience eating at Gold Coin. I grew up with a paper route on 6th Ave in Highland park. I had it all planned out. I would deliver my papers up one side of the street, and then ride over to gold coin and order my shrimp with lobster sauce. Omg that was 4-5 days a week. That was the best dinner on the planet. Still no restaurant on this planet can come close to the taste and flavor. Then I would deliver to the other side of 6th ave, only to grab my dinner and eat it on my bicycle on the way home.
