Very well conceived dishes and great execution, careful and disciplined kitchen and clearly a first rank Chef. As it later turned out, he was a friend of a great sommelier and wine writer we met in Kinderook. No wonder. “We first heard about Via Cassia while visiting Tuscany, and knowing we lived just an hour and an half away from a restaurant that we heard about from across the Atlantic, we had to come visit. We couldn’t have had a better experience! When the owners heard how we found them, they both made sure to come meet us. They were so kind and welcoming and took very good care of us! The food was absolutely incredible, and we got to enjoy the same wine we had while visiting Tuscany. Truly a 10/10 experience and we will absolutely be coming back.”

“You can’t go wrong—try everything and anything. We got a sunflower seed and olive loaf, kouign amann, plain croissant, and a baguette sandwich. Everything was delicious! I’ve never had a kouign amann so light—they’re usually a denser pastry. This was pleasant to eat and left space to eat a lot more ? I wish this bakery was closer to me, I’d be there every day. My husband likes to make bread and was blown away by the quality of the loaf and pastries!”

“We were out and about in Hudson today and we were a little hungry so we stopped into kitties and I had probably one of the best egg sandwiches I ever had. I highly recommend the egg sandwich with sauerkraut. The vibe in there was very comfortable iced coffee Was nice and strong. They had a great bakery selection and a lot of local products. So if you’re coming out of the train station in Hudson, I say swing by kitties you won’t be sorry.”

“We had a most extraordinary Sunday brunch at The Maker Cafe yesterday. We were there by chance, around 1 pm, and are so glad we found this lovely spot with a most attentive staff. We're not spring chickens, and we much appreciated the help getting seated, the delicious butternut squash soup, the fabulous eggplant alla parmgiana sandwich, the broccoli salad. Thanks to you all - we loved it, and we look forward to coming to the restaurant some evening soon.”

“I always enjoy my food when I order from here! Always a great experience with Maria and Nikki! Always so nice and accommodating, I served tables for 10 + years at a lot of high end restaurants and they are an awesome example of how service should be, However everytime I order something on Sunday evenings the blonde girl and the brunette girl that work there both have terrible attitudes like they both absolutely hate their jobs, I never see either one of them smile , or take any kind of personal approach to their customers at all, which in my opinion as a someone who worked as a server for so long might result in less tips or even a negative vibe between the server and their table… last night I ordered 2 orders of French fries and asked for some plastic silver wear , the brunette girl looked at me and said! “I guess but I don’t really see why” … maybe because I’m a regular paying customer .. but maybe that’s just me… and another time I placed an order with one of the girls , and asked for my total, and had me wait on the phone for over 5 mins for my total while she stopped and ran her food… something that takes 30 secs took 5 mins…in my personal opinion as a server those two ladies show a big lack of professionalism, I do not recommend Sunday nights when these two girls work! But I absolutely love this place when it’s any other day of the week”
