“I was doing some errands in this plaza when i randomly stumbled across this restaurant. I haven’t experienced authentic food in so long and not only was the food amazing the atmosphere was too. As well as the staff was extremely nice and I even spoke to a worker who said they’d been there for 15 years which amazed me because I’ve always lived in the area and never seen this place. I ordered the beef stew and rice and it was PACKED and DELICIOUS. it was also LESS THAN $12 and gave me enough for leftovers and a full stomach. Their empanadas were amazing as well. 10/10 would recommend“

“When I tell you this is real authentic dominican food, it was amazing. The absolute best ive had in a long time. From the meals to the drinks to the decor and music everything was phenomenal. I took my family after a graduation and I cant wait to go back.“

“We were supposed to eat at another restaurant, Anny, but when we got there, they informed us that they would only accept cash. Yet there was no ATM. We started walking on 116th, looking for an ATM. Instead, we found this place to eat. It's a buffet style place with only one booth style table. The best thing was that the food was good and the price was right.“

“I have been eating from here for literal years! My dad introduced me to their food about 10 years ago and I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet.
The food here is consistently flavorful, fresh, and made with love. It doesn’t matter if I eat in the restaurant or order takeout the food here is always a 10/10! My go to order is the Grilled Shrimp Scampi ( Camarones ) with garlic sauce and white rice with beans. My fiancé always orders their Pernil with rice and beans.
If you are thinking of getting food from here, do it! The staff is super friendly and the food is as good as it looks!“

“My boss said the best pernil on Long Island is Lucas Dominican on Grand Ave in Baldwin. If you have any stops there, swing by and get yourself a large serving, white rice, smothered in pork gravy.
Frank is many things, but a liar ain't one of 'em.
Moist, succulent pernil! Also, since she offered, the nice young lady offered las tijeras del pernil, for those who know, are the proper cutting tool needed to slather the skin on your order. Thick, crunchy skin placed purposefully on my plate!“

“I was referred here by my friend who buys food from here often and shared and it's always delicious. My husband and I come from long island as often as we can now because we have never been disappointed with all the food we bought. Staff and owners are wonderful and very welcoming and grateful for our patronage which we love. The portions are great and pleasantly pleased that they include plantains. My absolute favorite is the beef stew, always mouth watering and tender. We will continue to return. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.“

“I ordered lemon juice with oatmeal, and they sent me oatmeal with orange. In addition, the juice flavor was from a packet, the hot dogs had very little meat, and the cabbage was unseasoned. Please consider your customers because we pay for this. You need to provide better customer service. Thank you.“

“El Rincón Dominicano is a restaurant in Hempstead known for its delicious Dominican and Spanish food. We ordered the chicharrón which was moist and crisp. Just the way it should be cooked. I had the grilled stead. It was very flavorful and tender. My niece had the skirt steak which was out of this world. The steak melted in your mouth. My sister-ion-law had the pernil which is her favorite. The food is cooked to perfection, and we left with plenty for another meal. The staff is helpful, friendly, and attentive, providing great customer service. Parking is a bit of an issue, but we were lucky in getting a spot in the lot. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you are offered. El Rincón Dominicano is well-loved by my family. While we live in NJ, we will visit again.“

“Always busy, clean. Good prices. I have noticed overtime Walmart breads are salty/high in sodium. Whenever I eat I feel so very thirsty. I don't get that feeling at eating bread from elsewhere. Anyways I go there mostly for car oil and Gatorade.“
“super great food, awesome service and the ladies there were top notch. definitely recommend.“

“This is my go-to spot, not only because it's close to home, but because the food is delicious. I cook almost everyday at home, but on days when I am not in the mood, this is where I go. Pernil is always good, as is their pollo guisado, carne guisada, and baked chicken. Mangu is on point if you make it for breakfast. Good portions.“

“The food here is decent but it depends what you order. The empanadas were on the smaller side and were cold. The beef one was good but the chicken one was dry. The chicken stew was good and they gave me a lot of it. The portion sizes and the way the food is cooked always varies and it’s never the same which is disappointing. For two empanadas and a chicken stew platter with rice and beans, it came out to $26, which I thought was a little expensive.“

“My favorite spot on the mile. Great food, service and ambiance!“
“The place was nice, the service was good, and it would have been nice to see the menu with the prices. Our order changed from $28 to $42 dollars and we were not too happy about that. It's okay. We may come back and we need to save money for that. The place felt more like a bar.“

“New customer here. This restaurant was recommended by the JP auto people and it did not disappoint.
Context: The stars represent the real value of place, not to say the five star for food here compares with a 5 star Michelin rated establishment that cost 300 percent more.
I ordered half chicken half steak on Spanish rice with a country club Frambuesa Raspberry soda. The bill came to about 15 dollars with tip. They deserve more!
The food was delicious. Chicken was tender and marinated in a flavorful broth. The steak was similarly tender but had additional peppers and onions and other flavors that made it stand out. The rice was full of flavor and really could be it's own meal.
The service was exceptional and the woman at the front desk was very thoughtful and stepped through all the dishes they had to offer while giving great suggestions.
The atmosphere was good to. This is not a fine dining experience, but a local spot for and by locals. I could tell the people that team the business and the patrons of it were friendly and that created a really warm atmosphere.
I recommend you try this place out of you are even curious about Dominican and Spanish food or just want to support a local business.“
“Breakfast one morning with my wife made us know the JS had to stand for Jesus Saves! We were pleasantly pleased to find the crowd coming through was a sign that everyone knew about the experience we were about to have. I was greeted with a smile as my wife found us a seat and the host took my order. I told her we'd be staying and she invited me to have a seat, as she would serve our meal. The music was inspirational, the aroma of deliciousness filled the air and the food was plated and presented perfectly. Yes, we came hungry and JS did not disappoint! My wife and I have traveled miles in the past to eat the quality of food that is now in our backyard. Another gem has been found in the Jewel of Jamaica - Jesus Saves!“

“Great spot, solid basic food, no frills, fast service. One of the few places you can eat decently without getting a ton of plastic (they serve food on plates with metal utensils). And they don't raise their prices every few months like Claudette's, Super Burrito, the bagel place on 96th, everywhere on the boardwalk, etc.“

“Otherway Kitchen is hands down one of the best spots for authentic Dominican food! The patelitos are my absolute favorite — crispy, flavorful, and always fresh. And don’t even get me started on their fritura, perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and full of that real Dominican taste that reminds you of home.
The food always hits, the service is great, and the vibes are warm and welcoming. If you want flavor, quality, and that homemade touch, Otherway Kitchen is it!“

“I’m not usually one to rave about Dominican food because it’s what I grew up eating and what I cook regularly. But I had to leave a review. The moment I took the first spoonful of the sancocho, I was instantly reminded of my aunt’s cooking. It tasted like home. Absolutely delicious…this was everything.“

“It was alright, definitely not worth the price. Everyone was nice, restaurant is setup like an old style diner, with all sauces galore. The best thing was the beans and rice; immaculate. The ribs were meaty but had a sweet aftertaste which didn’t make sense for the savory plate. Plantains tasted like they were bought at different times; some hard some soft.“

“My Titi Delilah recommended it, It’s good. Good people. I saved a bee; they always follow me even in winter. They even tried to find a paper but I thought fast ripped the paper….there you go. Bees especially aren’t supposed to be killed. If they go the world goes remember that.
Kid-friendliness: They have some good looking fried chicken Spanish style so you know it has the right amount of flavor. Watch out Popeyes.“

“If you’re looking for amazing service and even better food, The Dominican Restaurant is the place to be. As someone who called the DR home for a decade, finding a spot that captures that genuine island feeling is rare—but this place nails it. It’s become the go-to 'home away from home' for me and all my friends.
Es como estar de vuelta en la isla, ¡una maravilla!“
“I absolutely love this tiny restaurant, by far my favorite in queens. I’ve been going here since I was a little girl and have not regretted it once. The food is amazing and the portions they give is astounding for the low price. Highly recommend !!“

“This place is a hidden gem. I wish I knew about this place earlier . I ordered the Beef Stew with white rice and beans and let me tell you it tasted like my parents made it. The stew sauce was saucing and it was thick pause . New customer for sure ! I recommend to come in and eat next time I know I will ! Don’t for get the Passion fruit juice !“
“The food here is excellent—authentic, flavorful Dominican food that hits the spot every time. You really can’t beat the price, flavor, quality, and portion sizes. It’s a serious value.
You can’t go wrong with the classic combo: white rice, beans, and baked chicken—simple, hearty, and packed with flavor. The empanadas are amazing (and they sell out fast, so don’t wait!). If you make it there for breakfast, the mangu with eggs is a must.
The setting is a food court, so don’t expect a fancy atmosphere—but that’s not what you’re here for. You’re here for the food, and *man*, is it good.“

“Liz the (waitress when I went) is a baddie & she was very polite. Stopped in with my mom to get some food. I got baked chicken with white rice & beans sauce and a side of sweet plantains. My mother got stew chicken with yellow rice. My baked chicken fell off the bone and my mother loved hers. The portions were a good sized. A single plate isn't enough for two, but its more than enough for one. I recommend this place.“
