“It's been awhile since I visited and found this visit to be a little more of the flavor of the old Michael's dairy. Service was strong and friendly and the ice cream is just as good as it used to be with a few more flavors. They do need to being back peppermint stick full time.“

“Best breakfast in the area! This cute little store front has you feeling like you’re back in the 50s. Counter service and three small booths. Breakfast lunch and ice cream is all they serve. Great small town feel as well. We love this place and will definitely be back! Highly recommend the smothered home fries.“

“A bit over priced, $8.00 for two scoops on a waffle cone, but was very good and probably the norm for a tourist areaParking: Walked about 1/2 mile from where I parked, was free but not much parking in town area, but park before you get to town and the bridge for easiest parking“
“Line was very long but they worked so fast that we barely had enough time to decide on what to order. They also mate our orders pretty quickly. Place was freezing inside. You can sit inside but they have 3 picnic tables. Parking lot is big and lots of customers stay in their car. Plenty of parking.“
“When my family and I go out for ice cream ... This is the place. Have a silly picture taken out front. Sit on the riverfront and enjoy your desert in the sun. The flavors are so so good ... Black raspberry w chocolate is my favorite... Great service and super friendly staff.“
“Hands-down, the greatest ice cream I’ve ever had in my life! Everything is homemade, friendly service with a smile, and simply put, the most delicious, flavorful ice cream ever. Between my husband, kids, and I, I was able to taste four different flavors, all incredible. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. A definite stop on your visit in Mystic.“

“We were visiting from CA where our local Rita's regularly has six water ice flavors. The New London Rita's shop has 12 flavors! We ordered peach water ice, mango gelati, blue raspberry gelati, and chocolate-vanilla twist frozen custard. Super affordable (less than $25 ) compared to California prices. Friendly service, easy parking, indoor or outdoor seating. Great way to cool off after a hot and humid CT day.“

“We had a great experience while visiting the Waffle pop sweet shop during an event at the Velvet Mill. Hands down the best strawberry cheesecake ice cream that we can't wait to get back and have again. My children also enjoyed the sweet wall of Jelly Bellys (and mom too!)Super cute little gifts for that sweet tooth in the family which would also make fabulous stocking stuffers! So do yourselves a favor and head down to the Waffle shop, you will not be disappointed!“
“Formally mangos ice cream this new women owned ice cream parlor is definitely keeping up with the local great ice cream spots of southeastern CT. The selection is pretty decent for a newer location and the taste is right up there with the best of 'em! Pricing is pretty par for the course and ice cream is very flavorful. Must mention it is only to go as of now and there is not much seating in the exact location. Plan to head towards mangos pizza and or deviant donuts to accommodate an entire family seating. The service was speedy and nice enough, but could have been better as we were the only ones in line on a dreary Sunday afternoon. I tend to appreciate friendly banter and interaction, as well as suggestions(especially at a newer establishment). With that said I will most definitely return and try out other flavors, and look forward to other options as well as sundaes as time goes on. I would recommend scanning the QR code for some hidden gems. Plenty of updates to follow with pics as the summer continues Cheers“

“Love me some Toppers, after all these years. My only concern is this: Every business ought to switch to paper or compostable straws and move away from plastic ones, but most especially those businesses on a small island where the ocean is close by. I hope Toppers continues its tradition of terrific customer service and ice cream while upgrading its practices to eco-friendlier ones. Especially with the wonderful progressive flags above the shop, these are clearly thoughtful folks , and I hope that a change to greener straws is in the cards.“
