It seems that nearly everything is prepared to order, and as a result if coming here you should be prepared to possibly wait longer than most restaurants for your food to be ready.
I do wish there was a way for the restaurant to communicate this to avoid problems with new customers who may be expecting quicker service.“

“Vegan restaurant by Tompkins park. The halumi and pumpkin starter was amazing. I had the Yube sandwich, wouldn’t recommend. Their house burger was definitely a better choice.

Good if you’re looking for a vegan or vegetarian option. On the expensive side, and there’s definitely better places in the area.

“We finally had the chance to visit Bassett Caterers today. They catered our wedding at the Foundry over 21 years ago, and I don’t think we ever properly thanked them back then. Their service was amazing—they handled everything from the food to the chairs to the servers, making the day so easy for us. If you need catering, I can’t recommend Bassett enough.

We met Frank today, and he’s just as kind as we remembered. You can tell he’s truly passionate about his business, and his team is just as friendly and professional as they were years ago.

We sampled the food again, and it’s still just as delicious as ever. To the reviewer complaining about prices—come on! The amount and quality of food you get here is unmatched. Compare it to other caterers and you’ll see the value at Bassett is incredible.

“I just got my Twins 21st Birthday this last Saturday I will say yes I do recommend it because of the delicious food , accommodation, tables set up, bartender and servers ( kind and warm), the bartender was on beyond my expectations but They need to hire another hostess who is willing to help, follow instructions and get better management floors My guests were lost sitting on any table when I approached to her at the beginning of the party with instructions she answered that she won’t need it. That is why the welcome guest part was a COMPLETE DISASTER When we were getting ready for the toast none of us got a glass so I went running to the table to serve the drinks she approached to me saying THATS TOO MUCH ALCOHOL and I looked at her saying I DO KNOW WHAT I AM DOING and my question is WTH you should ask me how I can help you or if you are an experienced hostess you will know what is that for ??? “They are known for making their own tofu. Their tofu soup is pretty good. They have this powder, which I think is perilla powder, that gives it a unique broth flavor. Bibimbap is good as well; the pork is marinated very well and is tender. I don't really like the service here tho. I asked which dish do you recommend, and they said everything and just walked me through the items in the menu lol. Food also takes a while to come out.“

“Had the most AMAZING Poboy & conversation with the owner/cook of sweet tooth. The business has been on Garvey for 17 years and I think it’s because he stayed true to himself, pork free soulfood, chopped chicken barbecue sandwiches, Poboy and homemade iced teas and let’s not forget about the desserts which I didn’t get to get any because I’m on a sweet break but next time I pop in I’m definitely getting a sweet potato cheesecake. Now for my sandwich, I had four juicy shrimp on 1/2 and on the other two pieces of flounder garnish with a secret sauce and a slaw mix toasted to perfection. It was so delicious. Definitely popping back in to try more things on the item and if you’re like me, looking for a black owned businesses that hit the nail on the head definitely pop into sweet tooth.“

“I have eaten a lot of maki, chirashi, temaki hand rolls, and nigiri across asia pacific.

MakiMaki has good quality ingredients, but it is either an American style or the rice here is not seasoned.

The hand roll had a vague hint of the rice being seasoned at the base of the roll. The maki had no seasoning and neither did the toro chirashi bowl.

At this price point a basic error like this is an easy one to 1.5 stars off. The balance is thrown off.“
