“The food here was pretty good. We had the paella and the arroz con Pollo. The first dish we ordered with chicken breasts were so tough. It was waayyyy over cooked. I could not even cut it with a knife. The service was good. The only issue was, when presented with the bill, the waitress high lighted the tip portion. As if we didn't see the calculations of how much 20 or 25 percent was. I found that tacky and distasteful. Please don't solicit tips, you'll get more that way.“

“Food was pretty good only had the pork t taco, shrimp taco and frozen Mojito. The drinks were strong and delicious. The shrimp taco was soo good The pork taco lacked flavor. The ambiance is cool.btje bright walls give it a festive vibe however during the summer there isn't much difference between inside or outside seating. By the time we left our table from inside, our clothes were sticking to our bodies. It's a sauna that with fans that blow hot air with a one working bathroom. Other than that I was satisfied.“

Our waiter was truly phenomenal, constantly checking in on us and being incredibly attentive. And the food and desserts were simply amazing. “My ethnicity is Cuban American and this restaurant checked off all the boxes for me.
I ordered the Oxtail which they served me 4 large pieces that were very flavorful and tender.
Yucca fries were nice and crunchy , I requested a small bowl of Cuban mojo to dip my yucca fries.
The white rice and black beans were very good.

“Yesterday, I took my sister here for her birthday! We arrived around 5:30 pm and was immediately seated in a cozy little section in the back! Our server, Justin, was phenomenal and kept us laughing the entire time. We started off with the hot appetizers (chicken empanadas, crispy, shiitake wontons, and grilled shrimp with garlic mojo) -everything was delicious. Afterwards, we ordered the steamed shrimp wontons and our main course Bian Pao Salmon along with the ma-po maduros. Great food, great service. The overall experience was definitely a vibe. We will be back. Thanks again Justin for making our first visit to Calle Dao memorable.“

“We had a great time here for my brother's birthday. Went at 6 on a Saturday and wasn't too crowded so food came out quickly and everyone was satisfied. I had the steak nachos and a mango mojito. Both were good! The decor is so nice. Would like to go again while the bands are playing.“

One large bone, three little bones, no vegetables at all. The live music was very loud, which some people probably loved, but it made it impossible to talk to my friends or hear the server.“

“We were stuck in traffic, and I changed my reservation from 5:15 to the next available at 6:15. I knew we would be cutting it close for our 7:30 show time, but I knew we would never make 5:15. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:45, and I asked if we could be seated early. We were told no. OK, went to the bar for a drink. At 6:10, I went back, and we were brought to a table. My husband commented that he had noticed that table, and that it had been empty the entire time we were at the bar. We wound up having to rush through our meal and skip dessert (we had ordered the price fixe menu). I know that busy restaurants have to have policies in place, but we really would've appreciated the courtesy since there clearly was an available table.“

“I was amazed by "squid rice with shrimp". It's cooked with squid ink. There is no fishy taste at all but all the goodie including red pepper, green pepper oinion, pea and of course squid and shrimp. The drink is amazing. Be careful, they are very very strong! Owners and servers are super friendly as well.“

The staff was fun to watch cause the were so busy , they were working together in unison and picking up each others slack when needed. The price for 2 Cubans and fries and a coke was around $30. “Great food and great service. The food reminds me of home and is reasonably priced. We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. The staff and owners always greet you with a warm welcome.“

The experience at Sophie's Cuban Cuisine - Midtown West was excellent. Employees are assisting and pleasant. The employees were accommodating and the cuisine was incredible! I plan to visit again.“

“This was my least favorite visit. The waitress wasn't amazing. The food was really good, but it's usually amazing. I would say it was a lot busier than I'm used to, so I'm sure that is the reason. I've worked in the food and hospitality field for many years and understand that part now what I don't understand is during a busy night the waitress being on her phone chatting it up with a co-worker while I'm there trying to get some more drinksand service. That was really disappointing. I also saw other tables of hers waiting at that moment as well, but I guess when gratuity is automatically included, you don't have to wow the customer. All other visits. I've had great servers this time, and I was not pleased.“

“This is a local Chinese/Peruvian food restaurant that gives new meaning to Chinese food! This fusion of flavors is amazing! I’ve had the steak with tostones, their chicharrón de pollo & many other delectable dishes. They also have a nice bar & make excellent Pisco sours which I can’t find in too many places! I live in Rockland County & the hubby & I take the trip about monthly just to eat here! Nothing fancy about the restaurant but definitely good eats! Highly recommend!
