“The staff and owners were friendly and engaging and happy to help us decide what to order. We were treated like family even though we were visiting for the first time.I had the whole snapper with creole sauce and black rice and my wife had the chicken with creole sauce and yellow rice with peas. Starting with a huge fresh salad that we shared and ending with a complimentary slice or two of traditional cake, every part of the meal was a delicious treat.The whole red snapper was cooked to perfection with herbs and thinly sliced peppers and onions and floating in a plateful of rich, fragrant sauce. The rice was piled high on its own plate and served with fried plantains. It was all accompanied by a small side bowl of spicy-hot relish made with pickled cabbage and scotch bonnet peppers. The chicken my wife had was tender and juicy and served with the same creole sauce.The food was absolutely delicious and what made it more special was the obvious care and love that went into the preparation and welcoming way that it was served. When people really care about their food and share it genuinely and generously, it draws you in and brings real happiness.Thanks so much for a perfect meal!“

“I called the restaurant today on my daughter’s birthday (2/26/24) to ask for a table for 5 people including two children. I was told there’s not enough seating for everyone but they would gladly accommodate us at the event space next door. I agreed. My family arrived at around 6 and the two ladies took our order and Yvonne took a few minutes to prepare the table for us. When she led us into the room we were so delighted and astounded! “Omg one of the best customer service experience I have ever experienced in a HAITIAN restaurant. USUALLY I don’t like going into haitian stores because of the rudeness , but not this place, I was greeted by pops who took my order and he was just a breath of fresh air ,and amazing , great conversation , I would have ended up buying everything there if I stayed any longer lol ..he wanted me to taste everything .. from KREMAS to a taste of his macaroni .. he wanted me to try everything lol ? .. “First time getting food from them. Honestly the first time I ordered(via Doordash) a month ago they ran out of oxtails and cancelled my order. This time I ordered Oxtails, Jerk Chicken Empanadas and Mac & Cheese via Seamless to pickup. They cancelled the jerk and Mac. Pretty disappointing.But besides that the oxtail were meaty and flavorful. The sauce tasted tomatoey which was fine. Rice & Peas were fine as was the cabbage.Id get food again I just need them to either have food advertised or edit their online menus to what they actually have.“

Definitely worth trying I drive 30 minutes especially to come to this spot and suprisingly was very cheap for 2 doubles and aloo pie with channa and a mango juice was around 10 bucks. From what I recall, pre-Covid Singh's was a lively restaurant where soca played through the speakers, a variety of Islanders would be liming and enjoying the vibes, and there was trini food and snacks galore. From Trini Chinese fried chicken, to doubles, to pone, chubby, shandy, and everything else that you'd want to enjoy. Since my first visit, I've remained loyal to Singh's.My last visit this past weekend, I didn't have the time to get over to their location, so instead I ordered on UberEats, grimacing at the $6.99 delivery fee. I placed my order at 6:30 a.m., since they open at 6 a.m. and received my order within an hour, delivered by a very polite young man. The food was packed very well - there was no spillage which I was expecting from the curry.I ordered pholourie (which came with TWO tasty tamarind sauces), 2 doubles, and one boneless chicken dhal puri roti. Everything tasted just like I remembered it to be. I packed some to take back with me to COS to extend the pleasure of the meal. I'm a chef and from the old school of real Jamaican cuisine. That being said, the food here has flavor, some dishes are way better than others. The thing I don't like, is the outrageous prices for such small plates. I get it, people gotta make money but when you give your customers a little more, they come back often. Also, the waitress is nice but need training on timing. Bring utensils first and if its a couple, bring both meals together, not bring one plate then 10 minutes later you bring the other.. I like the mature Reggae music played while eating on Friday evening. Oh a live band at 10pm but different genre of music so could be socca , reggae or whatever . I prefer the reggae band. Now after the band finished, the DJ ticked me off. I hate when him cut upp the music after 5 seconds. People were upset about that. Dj could be ok but have no clue how to watch the floor. If see mature people, run the music n stop the cutting up and play the song Dem. Chu man. Me vex and leff. Hellooooooo. adults spend money suh if music nice people wi spend cause Dem dance and sweat. Ok so, i went into details n hopefully the owner reads this and edit as necessary cause my presence can expand your establishment if you listen. “Went for the oxtail, but they were out of them early. I guess that means they are goid. I like the goat curry. It is flavorful with a bit of bite. I like really spicy, but my stomache no longer likes spicy. Getting old sucks. This would make a good lunch gor me. “I came across Tamarind Island's Insta page and it had me drooling so I knew I had to try it. Arriving on a Saturday afternoon, it was bustling and people were in and out. There are a few tables to eat at as well as a couple of seats by the window. I can't say I ever had Trinidadian food before, but the one thing I knew I had to get was the doubles with chickpeas, because that's what first pulled me in. It was fantastic. I'm not sure I ever had chickpeas so flavorful and yummy. The bread was light and pillowy. Also tried a roti with chicken curry. The roti itself was a large portion served along side a plate of chicken curry with some potato. Another wonderful delight. The chicken was tender and the flavors, just so good. I will say though, I just went there yesterday and everyone I was with asked for extra gravy and were told sure, as usual...there wasn't any extra gravy or almost any gravy when we began to eat our food. Also, for some reason, the cabbage was only sprinkled on top in on area. I haven't seen that before and didn't like that I was only able to enjoy two fork fills of cabbage.
