“I have had dinner here several times. Love the veal parm and my partner loves whole fish. However, most recently the waiter Palmer ruined our meal. He ignored us, then when he came over and I asked for a recommendation because my partner is gluten intolerant. He shrugged and acted like he could not be bothered to speak to the kitchen with a question. Throughout our meal he acted dismissive. He did not come back to us after he took our order and our entree plates were not cleared for 20 min. We deserved better.“

“Stumbled by this bistro in Southampton and decided to go in for lunch. To our pleasant surprise we had a wonderful meal with excellent wine pairings suggested by our server, we loved our lunch so much we decided on having dinner at their NYC location the next evening, needless to say it was magnificent! It also is a cool place to hang out with a casual vibe with no pretense.. as a local realtor when people ask me, what’s a great restaurant in the north sea area Pellegrino is always the first to come to mind. Great food fantastic service a small, but vibrant bar area or what you’ll find here.
They make a great pizza.

“Been a regular of the pizzeria for about a decade. So very excited that they opened a trattoria next door. Food is exactly the same as the pizza side bc they share the kitchen and most of the menu but with a classy atmosphere and table service. This is my third dinner here and I will be making it a regular place to eat.“

“Have been to this restaurant many times. Food has always been excellent. We went last night and the food again was excellent. The problem is it is a small venue and it was extremely tight last night almost to the point where you felt you were sitting with everyone else. To squeeze that many people into the space was uncomfortable. We actually had a bit of a tiff with another table who were literally sitting on top of us forcing one of my guest to say “ Your pushing my breasts into my table!” She actually used a different word to describe breasts. It was not an enjoyable meal despite the food being great.“

“I stopped by Melrose last night at 10 PM, hoping to grab something last minute. It had already been a little bit of an adventure, my dogs had run away as I was leaving the house, so by the time I finally made it there, the place was already closed.
The owner was walking out when he saw me and recognized me. I apologized for missing closing, but instead of simply saying, “Sorry, we’re closed,” he was incredibly kind and actually invited me back inside and made something for me.
Now, maybe that sounds like a small thing, but to me, it wasn’t.
I work in restaurants, and I know exactly what it feels like at the end of a long shift, when you’re exhausted, you’ve been dealing with customers all day, and all you want to do is go home. And yet, this guy chose kindness and hospitality anyway.
That is what hospitality is supposed to be.
It’s not just about the food or the service. It’s about the human moment. It’s about making someone feel taken care of when you absolutely don’t have to.
That experience meant a lot to me.
Wow. Just wow.
That’s the kind of restaurant owner, hospitality, and genuine kindness I aspire to create myself.
