“The first pie I had from John at Fenice was the Detroit Red...which Tony picked up for me last week when i was at work...i finished the whole pie by just after midnight...but I had to go for the regular NY Cheese pie fresh from the oven. “Mario’s Metro Pizza completely changed what I expected from a pizzeria. We came in for a full tasting and every single dish overdelivered. The chicken scarpariello was the standout, juicy chicken smothered in a sauce with real depth, sausage and thin cut potatoes mixed in, plated like something from a sit down Italian restaurant rather than handed over a counter. The vodka rigatoni with fresh burrata was another surprise, creamy, rich, and not something you expect to find at a pizza shop. The Philly cheesesteak pizza and hot honey pepperoni with vodka sauce were both excellent as well, and the hot honey and buffalo wings are made completely from scratch in house.

Beyond the food, the hospitality stood out. The owners, two brothers with over a decade of experience in kitchens across Westchester and New York City, took over a pizzeria that had been a neighborhood staple for decades and elevated it without losing that local feel. You can tell everything is made fresh and with real care.

It was my first time having their pizza and it was delicious, had a magherita personal pie with arugula and wild mushrooms and the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect, the sauce was very good and the mushrooms and arugula were fresh. “GET THE KALE CEASAR SALAD!!! I love their pizza but I go for the salad. This restaurant has such a great atmosphere and their menu is very accommodating. Everything on the menu is delicious and if you are strong enough to leave room for dessert, you will be extremely happy. Their cookie and their brownie come in a cast iron skillet and tase homemade and the ice cream and whipped cream make it even more delicious.“

We had the coal fired pizza with pepperoni and the mozzarella and damn it was delicious. Fresh basil & mozzarella. I don’t know where they got their pepperoni from but it is to die for.

“I have to start with they have the Manhattan Special Espresso Soda! One of my favs and makes it worth the trip in and of itself.
That said, I got the eggplant dinner with a salad and garlic knots. I didn't specify a dressing and got a creamy balsamic that was really good. The knots were great with just a little burnt cheese on the top. Not burnt in a bad way, maybe crispy is a better term. But delicious and buttery. The eggplant was also spot on, perfect amount of sauce and nice tender eggplant with the thinnest layer of breading that was crispy along the edges. I'll definitely be back.“
