“Whenever I had a craving for south indian food in long island, I used to frequent Taste of Chennai, i.e. until I discovered this place Village - The Soul of India. This is by far the best south indian restaurant in long island. Their pani puris are killer. The dosas, idlis chutneys and sambars reminded me of what I had tasted back in India. Everything tasted fresh too. The service was good and prompt. We were lucky to get in right before the dinner rush hour where we saw large groups having to wait for a table.

For those who are not familiar with south indian food: their menu is either completely vegetarian (as in this case) or largely vegetarian and 100's of options to choose from.

This place is a must try!
We got mysore masala dosa, mushroom dosa, idlis, pani puris, chennai thali and masala chai. Everything tasted great!”

Nothing could have been better, the owners and staff helped us order and our food was novel and superb, and they guided us to the right choices. Afghani Delight Chicken and Achari Chicken were both fantastic with the Naan and also with the rice (which he gave us an order for free when he thought it looked like we needed it.) I am so happy they have finally brought back their LUNCH BUFFET!!! They did it in such a way that no one else does, they have the buffet table set up & bring out tandoori chicken as well as other dishes FRESH to your table as much as you want so these dishes don’t become dried out or soggy!! ALSO, they change different dishes every day, so we usually go twice a week & it’s always fresh!!! The staff is super friendly & makes us always welcome! They even have their buffet on weekends! They are closed on Tuesday. In case I haven’t said enough, WE LOVE KIRAN PALACE!!!”

We reserved a table for Valentines Day and had a wonderful meal consisting of crab cakes, fried shrimp, French fries, vegetables and, for dessert, fresh homemade strawberry shortcake – reservations are rarely needed! Their khir is exceptionally great. This place is great for Large or Small Catering orders. Also, the Price you pay here is much less than other restaurants around here in Hicksville and Nassau County Area. Our Family and Friends have been their regular customers for Dining in or for our catering orders. Love this place. Staff working here are super friendly. Always ready to help.
