First of all, it's gorgeous, so sunshine-y and green. We sat at the bar and the service was great. We ordered the cantaloupe slushies and they were so, so good! They weren't overly strong + they mix them themselves, just a few ingredients. The guac was a little small but delicious. The pork tacos were pretty expensive for 2, I thought, until I tasted them. WOW, so good. We were so busy catching up, we didn't realize they'd closed to get ready for dinner. They emphasized we hadn't overstayed our welcome, we could stay as long as we needed.
And the disco-themed restroom + playlist? Excellente“

“Food was pretty good only had the pork t taco, shrimp taco and frozen Mojito. The drinks were strong and delicious. The shrimp taco was soo good The pork taco lacked flavor. The ambiance is cool.btje bright walls give it a festive vibe however during the summer there isn't much difference between inside or outside seating. By the time we left our table from inside, our clothes were sticking to our bodies. It's a sauna that with fans that blow hot air with a one working bathroom. Other than that I was satisfied.“

Tostada de atun was mouth watering, fresh, flavorful and my personal favorite of the night but a tough 2nd pick was the branzino we order which comes with a nice pineapple salsa. The fish was cooked perfectly and also so fresh.

Everything here is fresh and packed with flavor, perfect for hot summer night, light dinners, or parties with friends.“

I live far and order with extra charges through Ubereats because it’s just that good and worth every penny. I get burritos the size of a tiny baby. The way the burritos and bowls are made, is just so good. They don’t skimp out on anything. It’ll be full to the absolute brim. “U planned my birthday party at La Contenta LES and would highly recommend everyone do the same! We were a table of 8 - and the offer for a prix fixe for that side group is great. They worked with me to select a menu and it was very easy to communicate with them. The night itself was great, everyone was so nice. The service was outstanding—attentive without being intrusive. Our party of six ordered everything at once and shared family-style, and the pacing of each course was spot on.

We started with all the appetizers, and it was nearly impossible to choose a favorite. The scallops al pastor, the corn, and the bass were each exceptional in their own way—beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor.

For mains, the standout was the duck carnitas—tender, rich, and perfectly executed. An off-menu tomahawk ribeye, served with house-made salsa and fresh corn tortillas, was another highlight—arguably better than what you’d find at a top steakhouse.

Although Cosme offers a thoughtful wine list, we found ourselves captivated by the cocktails. The spicy margarita was a favorite, and the mezcal flight was both fun and expertly curated.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert—but that only gives us another reason to return. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.“

While visiting New York, I was introduced to MAYAHUEL in Astoria—and let me just say, it’s hands down the best Mexican restaurant I’ve had in a very long time. We sat outside and enjoyed an unforgettable dinner in a cozy, welcoming setting.

The queso fundido with chorizo and the guacamole with chips were beyond amazing—some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Then came the Enchiladas Suizas, and wow… the salsa verde was truly next level. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor and made with care.

“I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal. I do recommend dining there if you’re going to get the nachos to make sure that the chips are crispy. Nachos are tasty for delivery too but nothing beats eating them extra fresh in the restaurant. “Atmosphere was sophisticated especially compared to neighborhood Mexican restaurants. Service was attentive. But the food was disappointing. House salad was nice, with a touch of unexpected mint, but the Vegetarian Chili Rellenos with winter vegetables really missed the mark. In hindsight I should have returned it as it was warm but barely cooked. Every vegetable stuffed in the poblano chili, including the chili itself, was still crunchy (almost raw) rather than what I am sure the head chef would have intended. Also, The carrot pure sauce was a bit too heavy on the cream. I had high expectations, so was disappointed.“

We just walked in without a reservation around 4pm on a Sunday – super convenient! The vibe inside is fun and cozy, making it a great spot to chill and enjoy a meal.

The service? Top-notch. The servers knew their stuff and were really friendly, which always makes a difference.

Now, onto the food! I dove right in and completely forgot to snap pics (we were starving!). But trust me, the chimichanga is something you don’t want to miss. Crispy, flavorful, just perfect.
