“This restaurant is a jewel in downtown New Rochelle. It is the second outpost of people who know how to handle this cuisine — which is both healthy and delicious! They have a wonderful lunch special. All of their food is great, but I particularly recommend the lamb chops, the lemon chicken soup, and the beautiful, piping hot lentil soup I have just ordered on this gusty March day. This place is frequented by people who know good food. It is a family business in every sense of the word. There are pictures of the family in Greece and— whether you have been there or not— you will be transported and inspired.“

“Had a wonderful dinner upstairs at Axia celebrating our 53 rd Wedding Anniversary! Much more quiet than the downstairs room especially it you want to talk to your date! Loved the ambiance, wait staff, and especially the outstanding selection of food we ordered!“

“What a delicious, pleasant surprise this little restaurant was! When I walked in I honestly didn't expect too much because it was small and completely empty, and could have been a little cleaner. However the food was outstanding, and I am VERY picky. My friend and I split a ginormous Greek salad (the stuffed grape leaves were unbelievable), and we each ordered a gyro. Mine was chicken and so good! We also ordered the side of fries, and for $4 we received a large basket of fresh, hand cut, perfectly cooked fries. I don't live anywhere New Rochelle but I'm hoping to make it back there!“

“The Greek Frappe was good. The lady who helped me was very attentive and welcoming. I came in with a dead phone, didn't no charger. I asked, and instead of saying no, she let me, and not only that, she got me water and everythign for my wait. I wish I knew her name, but she is amazing! Tha k you!“

“Just got home with our food that we ordered on the phone. This was our second time ordering from Yassou. We enjoyed our chicken gyros so much the first time that we ordered them again. Plus we ordered two sides - gigante beans and rice pilaf. The beans were absolutely delicious, however the rice pilaf was a big disappointment. First of all, it was not rice pilaf. It was basic basmati rice and worse was, it was seasoned with cilantro. Cilantro?? In a Greek rice side dish? And you pay $9.00.“

“Love coming here because its close to where I live. We are regulars here and are always treated nicely. Anytime there is a problem with our food they fix it right away. We always go towards the end of the night so there is never a wait for us.“

“Delicious, healthy, and fresh food. One of my favorite restaurants. Great for taking out when you don’t feel like cooking lunch or dinner, or for dining in. Good vegetarian options too. And my absolute favorite frozen yogurt. Nothing compares to it. So good.“

“I love the fact that they're open for breakfast and lunch for the days I need to get a late breakfast or early lunch and lunch places aren't open until after 11. I always get their traditional gyro, but I recently tried their butternut squash soup and loved it. I'm definitely going to have to get more of it the next time I go just to take home. Not much of an "atmosphere" but to be fair a lot of places with a lot of take out don't have much atmosphere, but the staff are nice and have character.“

“Quality food with fantastic flavor and amazing service! Marcos and Roman were so helpful and treated myself as they would want to be treated. This kind of environment motivates me as well as many others to come back. Always leave with a full stomach and a smile on my face. There needs to be more people and places like this. “Dining at Lefteris Taverna felt like a little trip back to Greece. The food was truly authentic and brought back wonderful memories of being there — fresh flavors, comforting dishes, and that warm Mediterranean feeling you hope for in a great Greek restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxed yet trendy, making it perfect for a casual dinner or night out with friends.
The Mediterranean Sangria was absolutely delicious and refreshing, and the Gemista was cooked perfectly — flavorful, comforting, and authentic. While the food and ambiance were excellent, the service could definitely use some improvement. Overall though, the quality of the cuisine and beautiful vibe made it a place I’d still happily return to for a taste of Greece close to home.“

“This place is way better than its Yelp rating. I got the mixed platter with fries for $15.99 and it was ready in like 5 minutes. Huge portion, great value, and the chicken/lamb combo with white sauce was genuinely really good. The phone service felt a little rushed at first, but once I got there it made sense because they were busy and moving fast. Food was quick, affordable, filling, and exactly what I was craving. I’ll definitely be coming back.“
