“I took 6 of my friends here for my birthday dinner last night, LaZiza did NOT disappoint. We were offered a custom chef dinner, coursed out and fitting with any/all allergies. The food was absolutely delicious, from spreads (just get them all), salads to charcoal mushrooms, prawns, chicken, falafel, roasted chicken and lamb. Of course we also had the baclava and flourless chocolate cake. Everyone was happy and full. The cocktails should not be missed either they were all delicious and unique. The atmosphere was vibrant, especially for a Tuesday, with records playing continuously and the guests dancing in their seats. This place is a gem, go get yours.“
“Cocktail Magique show was a magnificent experience. Very positive, jaw dropping, interactive show that keeps you engaged throughout the 2 hour memorable performance.“

“Great choice for happy hour! Came here with a friend to kill time before our evening flight and it was worth it. $10 cocktails for HH are a steal nowadays. The ambience and atmosphere made it an even nicer experience as it almost gives the vibe of a classy speakeasy.“

“Be sure to check out karaoke on Mondays. The karaoke system they use is Karafun. It has a wide selection of songs. The karaoke mics are a little faulty, meaning they will go in and out during your songs.
All the Bartenders are no-nonsense, so it does feel pretty strict, but I'd rather that bartenders who chat too much with their friends and always take smoke breaks...
Drinks are reasonably priced, and the alcohol pour is sometimes too weak.“

“I am visiting from the West Coast. I’m a wine judge and an advanced Somm.
My family drove around, looking for a place to eat, and my sister says let’s try that place and boy we were not disappointed. First off the hostess Olivia and her sister the server Alex were pleasant and professional. And the food was spot on. But What surprised me it’s a tight little wine less but very diverse. Can’t recommend this place enough!“

“Incredible cocktail/beer bar with a completely original vibe. I've been coming here since they opened in 2015 and it's been a consistently fun experience. Beyond their great cocktail/beer lineup, their greatest offering is perhaps the unique array of frozen drinks that start up in Spring and last until the autumn. Frozen paper planes, penicillins, a boozy take on a mango lassi (!)...and so much more. And a hell of a backyard to boot...you simply gotta go here.“

“Porta 23 in Astoria is a great place to enjoy brunch. The food is delicious and well prepared, making every dish very satisfying. The service is excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who make you feel welcome throughout the experience. The atmosphere is calm, cozy, and inviting, perfect for a relaxed brunch with friends or family. One of the highlights is their unlimited drinks option, where for just $23 extra you can enjoy 90 minutes of unlimited beverages with many drink choices available, making the brunch experience even more enjoyable.“

“Had a great time at Bar Dalia having a birthday party yesterday. Ricky, Crystal and Megan made sure everything went smooth. Bryan was very helpful in coordinating and planning. We had about 20 guests in the back lounge area which was just for our party. The food and drinks were amazing. The service was very quick. Highly recommend for having parties or going on date nights.“

“Ramro was excellent! We had the duck and pork momos, beef longanisa, skate, duck, gnocchi and saag paneer. When it came to dessert, my son asked “can we get another skate?” Flavors were balanced and full and the skate, beef longanisa and momos were the favorites for us. It is very cozy and homey and the service felt like family. Oh, and my watermelon cocktail was excellent too. We are so excited about Ramro being so close and in the neighborhood; this will be our new family favorite.“
“I definitely recommend ! Perfect spot to hangout with family and friends ! Thank you abhi for a very fun weekend“

“I went here after work for a friend's birthday because it was close to my job.
The reason why I knocked off one star is because they weren't upfront about gratuity automatically being included on the check. We were two people who sat at the bar. We had two drinks each and one appetizer each. While the food was very tasty and authentic, it was very small for the prices. The drinks were mostly ice, and the margaritas were very sour. I watched them make the drinks and me being trained as a bartender. I could tell they were kinda just winging how they made the drinks. I noticed several times that they added more ice to drinks when they didn't measure enough of the liquor and the rest of the mixers to make multiple drinks. I get that it's happy hour, and things have gone up, but to pay $12 or $13 on happy hour drinks using cheap well tequila for a few sips through the straw is not cool.
I'm a good tipper, I don't like the fact that the tip was automatic. I like to choose what I'm going to tip based on service.
I would most likely not go back here.
My friend said that the place used to be called something else in the past. It seems to be family own and run, which is nice. I loved the decor, too.“

“Margie’s is an excellent restaurant on the ground floor of the Rockaway Hotel. It’s very nostalgic to locals as it was built where the Rockaway staple known as Gallagher, Snug Harbor and Daltons once stood before the beautiful hotel was built. Margie’s serves up some great food including an excellent variety of prime steak cuts. Their cocktails are excellent and one must taste their staple Irish Coffee which is fantastic. Margie’s and the entire Rockaway Hotel have always been an amazing experience.“

“My friends and I had a lovely afternoon at The Rockaway Hotel Pool house. We were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess, Isabella, who made us feel so welcomed. Our beautiful table was in the perfect spot to take in all of what the Rockaway Hotel has to offer. The outside bar and Pool house are exquisite. The pool was bustling with excitement. Our waiter, Andrew, was polite and helpful . I highly recommend coming to The Rockaway Hotel because their staff is highly professional and attentive.“

“Love love love. Been here a couple times now and plan on coming back many more. Wonderful staff and delicious food surrounded by a super fun environment. The bartender sang a few songs on a Saturday night and the whole restaurant lit up. A wonderful place to spend time in the neighborhood.“
“The second time here... Very nice atmosphere, "real chill"... Very good music. People are kind.... And the girl who works here is so kind and polite. She is awsome. ❤️“
“Cute cocktail spot nestled in Ridgewood. We were poking around some of the stores nearby and then stopped in for a drink - though we didn’t try, the Monday Greek specials were a pretty good deal, and the cocktails we did order were both good! It’s a unique bar for the area and I’m interested to try the downstairs (bartender said it’s a music / event space) next time when it’s not 5pm on a Monday lol.“

“Went to TORA NYC recently and decided to order takeout, but even from that short experience the hospitality stood out. While we were waiting, they offered us water and were really welcoming, which already left a good impression. The space itself looks beautiful modern, intimate, and definitely feels like the kind of place that would make a really nice date spot.
We ordered three dishes: the Yokan Roll, Negichutoro Don, and Gyudon.
The Yokan Roll was a really nice example of how modern sushi rolls balance texture and richness. Inside was spicy salmon and cucumber, and it was topped with lightly seared salmon, mentaiko sauce, tempura flakes, and tobiko. The seared salmon added a gentle smokiness while still keeping that soft buttery texture salmon naturally has. The mentaiko sauce, made from seasoned pollock roe that’s widely used in Japanese cuisine, brought a creamy, briny umami flavor that paired really well with the fish. Tobiko added those signature little bursts of saltiness, and the tempura flakes gave a light crunch that balanced the richness of the sauce and salmon. It was a well constructed roll where each topping actually had a purpose.
We also got the Negichutoro Don, which had minced medium fatty bluefin tuna over rice. In sushi terminology, tuna is categorized by fat content akami being lean, chutoro the medium fatty section, and otoro the richest cut from the belly. Chutoro tends to be the sweet spot because it has enough fat to be buttery while still keeping that clean ocean flavor. The texture here was incredibly soft and almost melt-in-your-mouth. Negitoro as a dish traditionally mixes minced tuna with scallions, since the word “negi” literally means scallion. The tuna quality here was great and the texture was amazing, but I do think it could be elevated slightly. If the scallions were minced and mixed into the toro instead of sitting on top it would distribute the flavor more evenly. A little shredded nori could add some aroma from the sea, and honestly avocado would pair really nicely with the richness of the tuna.
The Gyudon was probably the most comforting dish we ordered. Gyudon has a long history in Japan and became popular in the late 19th century as a quick, affordable rice bowl. Thinly sliced beef is simmered in a sweet savory broth that’s very similar to sukiyaki sauce, usually made with soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sometimes dashi. The beef absorbs that slightly sweet umami flavor as it cooks. Here it was served over rice with scallions, sesame seeds, and an onsen egg. Once everything was mixed together, the egg yolk coated the rice and beef and brought everything together. The sauce, beef, and egg created that rich silky texture that makes gyudon such a comforting dish.
Even though we only ordered takeout, that level of service was noticeable.
Overall the food was really good and thoughtfully prepared. The fish quality was great, the bowls were comforting, and the hospitality stood out even in a quick takeout experience. The restaurant itself looks like a really nice place to sit down and enjoy a meal, so we’ll definitely be coming back to dine in next time.“

“Everything was perfect. Walking in we were checked in by the owner himself, who sat us at the corner of the bar immediately. The atmosphere takes you straight into old time NYC. Food was incredible, arguably the best pizza I’ve ever had. All around amazing experience!“

“Nice place, music was good but it was noted to be warm considering it is a roof-top lounge but it was cold and made my stay a little short. The cocktail drinks tasted more like cocktails, very little alcohol. I had 2 drinks and not even a buzz. Otherwise nice place for a hangout.“

“Great vibes and ambiance. A very nice change from the Brooklyn dive bars. Drinks are good and bartenders are nice, friendly, and chatty.
Only negative is if you want to play pool with a group of friends you have to win the table from a couple of pool sharks who continually own the table over and over again. So bring someone who is very good at pool or you’ll only be playing the pool sharks. Kind of lame but whatever. House rules I guess.
Aside from that I enjoy this bar.“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“Beautiful restaurant, very homey and warm environment
Service was friendly and decent
Food was okay, definitely better options in Astoria and better priced, but portion sizes were very generous. The only dish we really didn’t like was the octopus, they serve it cold and had a funny after taste but everything else was good. Dakos salad was nice and ribeye was perfectly cooked. Lavraki was tasty“
