“I went across this restaurant sometime last week and NYC has been lacking as of late when it comes to Jamaican food. However, when I came here the flavor and the food hit the spot! It tasted like how great Jamaican restaurants would taste over a decade ago. The staff puts real care into their food. Since I’ve been here I’ve ate here 3 times. The great thing about this place also is that they’re consistent! The other Jamaican restaurants on the the Guy R strip are closed or just taste processed. Nyaminz and Jaminz tastes original and the main person here with the red hair is great and understands customer service. I would highly recommend this place anytime.“

“This is a compliant but I gave all 5 stars cause I love this place from young. Bought 6 spicy beef & 2 jerk chicken Pattie’s this morning (June 5th 2025). In this photo you see plastic. I bit this piece of plastic out of my patty, I thought it might’ve been some hard lettuce but yea it’s plastic.“

“Walk in and get the authentic feel of a home cooked Jamaican meal. Wish I ordered a variety of different dishes because my kids mouth was on fire but he loved it. Pair your j*** chicken dish with the sorrel drink - tastes like a tropical ginger beer. Cabbage was cooked soft and not soggy. Get your j*** chicken fix at the country life. Worth a visit.“

“Sometimes the half jerk chicken changes in size and quantity. Doordash order vs ordering in person. When ordering with Doordash I got a bigger container for the same prude when I called and ordered the same item it was the same price but less food.“

“This is where you go for authentic down home Jamaican food. Not a fancy place but the food is like Grandma use to cook and they have many old time Jamaican dishes not ordinarily offered in most Jamaican restaurants like run down, seasoned rice, pumpkin rice, cornbeef and cabbage..only downsides are usually no fried plantain offered and they don't accept debit/cards. Now taking debit/credit cards as of about 3-4 months ago. Chef is friendly.“

“Place is very clean, the food does taste good, you only have to watch out for the amount you take it goes by weight. Overall, I like the food here, its buffet style most things are weighted by the pound.“

“So I called to order my food and the woman on the phone was very rude. She was talking fast and the background was loud so I asked her to repeat herself and she got an attitude like this isn't her job 😔. When I picked up my ackee and catfish it was leaking all out of the bag and there was barely any ackee and catfish in the pan it was 4 big dumplings a plantain with a scoop of ackee and catfish . It was a complete waste of my money. Now my snapper was on point but I definitely won't be coming back here unless she changes her attitude and they learn how to package food .. MAKE SURE YOU CALL AHEAD OF TIME.. THE WAIT IS LONG. I CALLED AND STILL HAD A 20 MIN WAIT“

“Jamaican Flavors always has good food. This location, however, is so small. Maybe 5 people can stand inside as it's just a walk-up window to place your order & be handed your food. You literally can only step in, then step out. But again, the food is always good.
Parking: Depending on the time of day, you may have to double park.
Wheelchair accessibility: This location is not wheelchair accessible.“

“Earlier this morning..... My first experience at Door Restaurant in the borough of Queens.... OMG I tried the Traditional Jamaican Breakfast: Liver, Saltfish, Callaloo, provisions omg. Couldn't eat it all but I killed the Saltfish. Restaurant wasn't crowded. Good service.. I still have enough leftovers for a few more meals 😂😂😂😂 My friend enjoyed her jerk chicken with peas and rice.. 😋“
