“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

Everything we ate was handmade in house - including the pineapple cakes pictured here. “As a person who grew up in Hunan, China which loves rice noodles either with soup or dry stirred. They have decent rice noodles and great flavors. They also let you customize your own taste with spices, chilli oil, sour string beans and more stuff you can add yourself which give the customer lots of freedom while adjusting a flavor that they will like the most. Other places make them light which I’m not crazy about. Everything here otherwise is excellent and the staff are very nice. We hadn’t delivered to our hotel and it didn’t take long. “Really good beef noodles! The beef was super tender and they were very generous with the portions. Both broths were flavorful, and the noodles had a great texture. I especially liked the pickled vegetables in the first bowl — they gave the soup an extra savory and tangy kick. The spicy beef noodle soup was also delicious without being overwhelmingly spicy. “Flushing has plenty of chinese food for sure, but I came to Flushing specifically to find uyghur food as you can't really find this type of cuisine in the US. And the food simply blew me away. I dont know how they make the lamb polo but that is probably one of the best rice dishes ive ever had. The lamb was so tender and rice was so flavourful. And the 烤包 (kao bao) was amazing too as it was filled w juicy sweet onions and beef. Absolutely great meal and Im glad I came here.“

“I have never had an authentic jian Bing from Beijing or Tianjing but I have seen YouTube videos which made them look amazing. I've tried a number of jian Bing from other cities in China as well as the US and they always fell short, even in China. The crepe was sometimes too thick, the crispy filling was not crispy enough, the packing was too loose with the ingredients falling out, etc.

Watching the lady make the jian Bing here really reminded me of those YouTube videos I had seen from the places in Tianjing. Both the taste and texture were wonderful and blew away all the other jian Bing I've had.“

“This place sells Tianjin style smoked meats. A whole chicken is about $17 and they have rabbit, pigeon and other meats for the more adventurous. I've only had the chicken and it was pretty good. The meat is really soft and juicy and well flavored. The flavors however are very authentic and it may not be for you if you're used to western fried chicken. The whole chicken also comes with the head and feet as well if you're into that. At least you know they're not buying supermarket chicken. Personally the flavor are very difficult for my palate but I still enjoyed the experience. Today I tried braising half a rabbit. The flavor wasn't very complex or deep; it's suitable for people who prefer milder tastes. I also bought vegetarian chicken. It has a light salty and smoky flavor.“

“The staff upfront is so nice. She politely answered all my questions and helped me understand the menu. I ordered the coconut smoothie and the coconut mango milk. The coconut smoothie is so light and refreshing for the heat, definitely good for someone who doesn’t like super sugary drinks.
