“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“Been here a few times. Best skewer place in this area or matter of fact anywhere near here outside of Flushing. Food is always fresh and good and service is great. The 2+1 specials on the drinks with soju and beer is awesome. The place looks very clean and new. Very roomy as well where you’re not crowded with other customers and AC works great during hot weather.

This trip we had the pig head salad along with assortment of skewers. All amazing. The meat with salad was so refreshing.

“I got the combo for 1 with sauerkraut fish soup, Taiwanese sausage, rice, and a soda. I had never had this soup before and it is truly one of the great world soups, sour and spicy and tingly with a variety of textures from the different vegetables and clear flat noodles and tofu skin. Flavor is intense but balanced, you eat it slowly and as soon as your palate can handle more you want to keep eating it. If you were sick this soup would set you straight. Fish is very tender and delicate, rice cooked perfectly. Taiwanese sausage is always tasty but this one goes up a level by being fried and having a lovely crispy exterior. The fattiness and sweet/five spice flavor of the sausage is a perfect contrast with the piquant soup. Portions are huge, I had some leftovers, it’s a fantastic value for your money. Interior is spacious and clean, service is fast and friendly. They have a bunch of non-soup things on the menu that look great. It’s twelve hours later and I’m still processing this soup. It was so good.“

We got the Braised Pork with preserved greens, the meat was so tender and the flavor was rich and so well-seasoned. Then, the minced pork with sour cowpeas (no photos of this one) also super good, the beans have a bitter note that add something unique to this dish. The photo in this review is fried mochi with ice-cream. It was alright, reminded me of brown sugar rice cake. The only drawback from this place is that, even though this is a fish restaurant, there's only one fish soup item on the menu. I've been to other fish soup restaurants and they have multiple fish soup options as well as additional add-ons you can add to customize your soup.“
